  • OMG! Their eye contact so passionate ! For me , it's only happened between women lover . Yup , Sarah Waters , she's great , my most favourite , espacially Tipping The Velvet , prettiest ! Affinity a bit sad , but still charming .

  • TT__________________________TT

  • 56 likes and no dislikes...you gotta love that...great job with the video!

  • @SenseiAshley87 Thank you, yes I guess that is good, as you can't please everyone! ;)

  • hy where i can find ths film???thank

  • @orionehot Amazon and ebay always good places to look. :)

  • Sarah Waters has become one of my favorite British Authors <3 English 12 has brought me close to her work I been researching her for a year for my senior year. I love all five of her novels Tipping The Velvet, Affinity, The FingerSmith, The Night Watch, And The Little Stranger. <3 brilliant.

  • @teamogleal She is brilliant - I got Night Watch for xmas, so have that to read yet. Looking forward to that! :)

  • @beakerJT What a magnificent gift to receive on such a day.

  • Well done!

Thank you for the wonderful film clips combined with this great song!

It's a great book by Sarah Waters. I haven't seen the film yet - but you can be sure I will soon...

Your video looks promising... ;-)) It went to my playlist "Among Women".

    Best regards

  • @Ilkamy Hiya - if you like the book then you will surely like the adaptation! (I liked the book too although took me a bit to get into it.) Thanks for adding me to a playlist! :D

  • This was an such a beautiful video, I had to watch it when I noticed the song you used. It was Perfect. Thank you so much for sharing. I adore the film and this was a wonderful representation of it.

  • @DearAffinity Ah thank you so much! Glad you liked it! :)

  • You're an extremely gifted video editor. I enjoy watching your videos. I own Affinity, the novel, but haven't brought myself to watch the movie yet. This just made it my next priority. I just made a lesbian video edit of Bleak House... I loves me some sapphism ala period drama.

  • @kitnkabootle Ah how lovely! Thank you! I too have the novel and at the time couldn't wait to see what it would be like when made into a drama. I'm sure then you also like Tipping The Velvet and Fingersmith? :) I have done a vid of Tipping but not Fingersmith yet! I will take a peak at your vid too! :)

  • @beakerJT I will be ALL Over your TIpping the Velvet and Fingersmith videos. I have read both books and seen both films and would LOVE to have a look at more of your stuff :D You're really talented. Thanks for watching mine!

  • Thanks for the upload. It's so sad -_- :( -_- I just saw the whole movie 2 days ago and a few months ago I saw the last 30 or 20 mintues of the movie. I feel so bad for Margaret look how desperately and happily she talks to Selina only to have her criss cross and use her too. Selina just sits there and looks at her knowing what she's feeling not feeling the same way toying with her emotions and everything.

  • @PestimisticAngel Yes it is very painful to watch - even more sad by the fact that Selina actually probably loved Margaret for real in the end but couldn't go back on what she had done! :( Thanks for your comment! :)

  • I dont really know about that! If she loved her she would have stayed with her despite the risks. I mean look at Margaret for example, she's from a very prestigious family and yet she'd leave them all to be with her, who has gone from place to place pretending to be able to talk to spirits (I dont deny that people cant do that just that Selina can) it's a real small world though. Having the maid be Selina's lover and Margaret's maid at the same time, giving and passing information.

  • wow great vid =] great effects

what kind of movie maker do you use?

  • @elliisinthehouse Hiya - I'm not sure what version it is, lol. Just the moviemaker program that comes as standard with any computer. I have vista so its an up to date version. Sometimes I use ULead. Thanks for watching! :)

  • Ugh. Never watched the movie. Only read the book. I have never, ever been hurt so deeply by a book/movie than I've been with this one. But I loved your video, I thought it matched perfectly.

    Arrrrrgggg whydidselinahavetobesuchanassholeohoigpregoigoinperhgreiuhrffdsjsjsjsjskfiojnfrig

    I'm still angry, obviously lol.

  • I think I found the movie more hurtful and it was so deeply upsetting. I still loved it though despite that....but I did want to take Margaret home with me and show her she can love and be loved..... ;) Thanks for watching - don't stay mad! :)

  • @beakerJT fantastic piece of work. the book was daunting and the movies was like being knifed in the fog. you did a great job putting these clips together with TATU - and i wonder if you chose to be deliberately ironic considering their bit of deception too. you must have felt the touch of the muse to put images and music together this seamlessly. brava.

sara waters is great, but she doesnt spare your feelings. i just got done reading 'night watch'. what a great writer!

    cheers.

  • @theinkbrain Haha yes they were indeed both painful to read and watch, yet somehow I still loved them. I think I wanted to save Margaret! And no Sarah Waters does not spare your feelings - there always seems to be a fair bit of angst in her stories!! Hopefully I will have nightwatch soon to read. I guess in my video I tried to steer away from the deception part of the story to make 'my story' less painful and happier! :D Thank you for your lovely lovely comment :)

  • @beakerJT i think sarah waters writes cinematographically. this is undeniably apparent in the night watch. ive noticed that people complain about the absence of plot, but i think its because there are multiple plots.yes, sarah was cruel to treat margaret so, but i think writers can stand to do that to their characters because they can keep another ending in their heads, while we are stuck with the one they gave us. so i think you should finish the story yourself - after you take margaret home!

  • @theinkbrain Someone else highly recommended Nightwatch to me so I think I must get it now! I'm not sure that if I was a writer I could be so horrible to one of my characters....to build Margaret back up like that only to knock her right back down again even lower than before. :( And I defintaely make up my own happier endings with lots of my videos when the original content was not able to do so! lol

  • Not seen this but think I might hunt it down even if its a sad ending.... but awesome vid to make someone see the show!

  • It is well worth it!! Glad my video makes you want to watch! Do you think Sarah Waters will give me royalities....LOL :)

  • Place this w/lost and delirious, and have a miserable night

  • I see where you are coming from.... lol - I do still love this despite all that! Another character, (Margaret), that I would like to take home with me..... :)

  • Loved it Loved it LOVED IT!!!

  • YAY! Thank you - its such a great drama - a bit painful, but still great. Thanks for watching!

  • waaa, now i wanna watch this!! n__n

and gotta buy the book >:D

  • They're both great, you may have to persevere with the book but it's worth it. :)

  • when will affinity comes out? (the adaptation i mean)

  • It's out - it came out in January.

  • I've never watch this vid. nor read the book. though i know it's a sad love story and i hate that kind of story but still wanna watch it. thanks great job.

  • I hate a sad ending too, but always find them good stories that stay with me and make me think. Which I like.

  • i loved the movie all the way up to the end. margaret was betrayed once again!!! she gets her heart broken twice, that must have sucked for her!

  • I know - you could just feel her pain. I felt so sorry for her :(

  • i wanna watch this movie now, all of the adaptions are excellent, i gotta collects her books

  • Ah cool! It's a great watch and a great read. I've actually only read this one of Sarah Water's books, although have watched the other adaptations.

  • amazing video!!

    nice nice, very nice

  • :D Thank you!

  • i want to ask Anna Madeley on a date, do you think she'd oblige? anyone got her number? heh! heh! I shouldn't be so silly should I!!!!

  • LOL!!! :D If she does can I be gooseberry?! Thanks for watching!! :)

  • Thank you for making such an amazing video :)

    Hugs Afterthebattle

  • Ah thank you! :D

  • Thank you! The book is good - a bit hard to get into, but worth it! :)

  • Really good - thanks x

  • Cheers! :))

  • woot. zoe tapper is my latest celeb crush haha <3

  • Lol - I quite liked Anna Madeley - her character was very intriguing, ;)

  • I am with you on that too, JT!

And she reminded me of the young Kate Jackson, a favorite of mine.

    Thanks for the video, JT.

  • That's funny you should say that, a friend of mine said she reminded her of Kate Jackson. I didn't see it until she said - I really liked Kate too!! lol

  • WOW! This is really awesome o_o

  • Wow is always good and welcomed! :) Thank you!

  • amazing video....10/10 on the scenes and great choice of song.....perfect x

  • Thank you so much for watching and your kind words! :)

  • Wow, this is really good! Excellent choice of scenes - pretty intense. And the song is of course also perfect to show Margaret's perspective. I love it!

  • Why thank you! *JT takes a bow*. Yes -Margaret's character is a very intense one - adding greatly to the whole atmosphere of the drama. Thanks for your lovely comment! :)

  • Yes, seriously. What I particularly like is also that you didn't exactly follow the storyline - but mixed up the scenes and chose them as they fit with the song and this makes it coherent as well. Very interesting ;)

  • Yes - that's generally the way I go with my videos - not so much telling the story of the drama or movie itself as such, but telling the story behind the song I have used - which works alongside the characters. So basically all my vids have different stories :)) Thanks again :)

  • AMAZING! haha love the song and the clip is beautifully well done. Its created and born with the song!

  • That's great - I'm glad you think so! Thanks for commenting! :))

  • perfect cut and editing, the song choice and the lyrics are great for your vid, I'm impress from your work and I put in my fav :)

  • Why thank you! :)) And thank you for favourting - a compliment in itself! :)

  • i love this vlog. one kiss can say so much.

  • Thank you - I love the part where Selina breaths on Margaret's arm....you can just feel the sexual tension. :)

  • Very well done! And this is a great song choice - the lyrics are perfect for describing Margaret's feelings about Selina. I love it :)

  • Ah thank you! I just wanted a song that explored inside her head! Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • Well defined.

    Very fine.

  • Thanks for watching! :)

  • really gr8 video!

the song and the scenes you've chosen are perfect!

I don't know the story @ all but I really liked it.

    thank you

  • Thank you! It's only recently been on tv/released on dvd - well worth a look! :)

  • Although a little predictable........this was a good film (TV programme!)..........You've done a great job with your video.....well done

    Chrissy ;-)

  • The book cover says something about how you'll want/wish it to be true and I found that to be the case. As Margaret fell for Selina and vice versa, this began to over ride any common sense and any predictability this may bring with it, in a hope that they could find each other - for me anyway (hopeless romantic!). That's what happened when I first read it and even more so with the adaptation. Thanks for watching and commenting! :)

  • Don't get me wrong.....I really enjoyed the film, it was beatifully made and acted....but the detective in me is always looking for the who done it or ending whilst the opening credits are playing LOL

  • LOL - like I said I'm just a hopeless romantic and is willing to believe in just about anything! LOL I think really because I loved Margaret's character so so much! Let me get in her head! LOL :) Thanks for watching detective!

  • Thanks for sharing a great video beakerJT

  • Thanks for taking a peek! :)

  • I'll have to check this movie out. Nice video!!!!

  • Thanks - definately worth it - I tried not to give away too much for those who haven't seen it. You seen Tipping and Fingersmith?

  • This is really great video! ^_^

  • That's great - thanks for commenting! :)

  • good stuff beaker :) thanks for introducing the movie!!! !I'll watch it !!!

  • Oh you must - it is very good! Hope you enjoy it too. If you watch first it'll probably be easier then to go on and read the book if you wanted to - I did it the other way around and the book is not one you can get into immediately but glad that I persevered! Such a good story! :)

  • I've watched it! well the ending is little depressing and something is still unclear .. did Selina feel sorry for Margret at the end?

  • Yes I think the sadness of it all is why it effected me so much. I think Selina loved Margaret in the end - initially S just wanted to use her to escape and be with Vigors - she didn't forsee that she would fall for M along the way. I think in the end she was trapped by her own and Vigors' plan and had to see if through depsite her feelings for M. I see it that Vigors had alot of control over Selina. Glad you went and watched it! :)

  • Thanks for sharing great video!!

  • Thanks for taking the time to watch! :)

  • I will just say WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!

    AMAZING! Just WOW!

  • I love when you say wow like that!! :D :D It means everything! Thank you!

  • Very well edited, the film is very good and the actresses portraying the main characters were excellent. Lovely video as always beaker JT.

  • Ah that's sweet thank you! Yeah I thought the two main actors were fantastic! I couldn't see any faults in their performances.

  • Excellent and the song fits so well. Bravo.

    J x

  • Thank you - thanks for watching! :)

  • that was so amazing, wow, so intense with that song and the way you did the video. :)

  • That's great that came across as Margaret IS quite an intense character AND the circumstance they are in are also intense. Fab - thanks! :))
