  • seriously?

  • It obvious all the dam DiSLIKES ARE DAM AGENTS

  • as a child i learned these things form these princess Cinderella even in a thought situation some in your life cares. Jasmine money and social status doesn't matter in love. Bell don't be afraid to be smart, and you should shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. snow white be wear of strangers bearing gifts. Least fave movies Ariel that everything is an adventure, though i hated that she ran away from home at 16. Aurora buy my clothing lol.

  • jeez...way to ruin some good, classic fairytales...your "interpretations" of these innocent princesses are obviously wrong... it was just made to be simple, imaginative. y is it that nowadays everyone has such wrong minds?

  • i men 1:40

  • lmbo over 4:30

  • You teach little girls to hate and cry over disney princesses never mind them teaching children bad things that are made up!

  • As a 26 year old female tradesperson and growing up on such disney films..... this is fucking crap! A truely strong woman can think for themselves. Dont be a statistic.... clearly whatever feminesst make this has daddy issues.. everytime you pull shit like this you bring us down a notch!

  • i thought this would be good things

  • Alladin teaches us that if you lie to women, you get somewhere.

  • When u think about it, its very true

  • Did anyone else see the creepy face at 3:30?

  • As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked Cinderella arrive home after midnight pinocchio told lies aladdin was a thief batman drove 200mph snow white lived with 7 men popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos pacman ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance and shaggy and scooby were mystery solving hippies that always had the munchies.

  • No, what Disney Princesses teach young girls is: at all times, find a way to dress as skimpy as possible. For young boys it's: at all times, try to find the girl wearing the least amount of clothes...she's better in bed. ;)

Duh, I know they don't all dress like sluts, but plenty do, and all of them show a lot of bust.

  • Yeah, you're right, Aladdin totally got the girl because he was charming and used magic...oh wait, sorry, that's right, he was a nervous, blabbering idiot and Jasmine felt betrayed and left him when she found out he used magic. I'm sure the fact that he was brave, virtuous, and selfless had nothing to do with him saving the kingdom and marrying the princess...

I see what you're trying to do here, but people might take you more seriously in the future if you aren't so narrow minded about it.

  • I know this is kind of brutal. But this is how life is. Handsome rich guys get lots of girls and girls will do anything to be with them.

  • jesus came to serve. humans, men or wemen all want to be served.

  • Lol cos Adam was so abusive, I mean, he hit Belle all the time. There's a flaw in the pursuing an abusive guy thing: she hated him at first and didn't fall for him till he tried to be nicer.

Also, you say "rich, good looking, and charming" as if these are bad qualities.

  • i don't completely agree with the video but i think it's safe to say that most of these princesses would have led very different lives if they weren't good-looking with 21-inch waists

  • This was............FAKE AND GAY!!

  • These are stupid and the photos are hilariously tacky.

  • About abandoning your family for a guy...Sometimes maybe it´s necessary.

I suppose you´ve all heard about so called honour killings?

  • i kinda agree i dont think the people who wrote disney ment to do that though

  • Seriously guys, don't hate on tqrecords. He's only telling the truth! Although people in the comments are saying these were based on existing stories, Disney still brought them into the modern world, making the ideas still acceptable. The fairy tales come from times when ideals were different. Hint, we should've changed by now.

  • This video is kind of true. I mean, you all know they aren't making Disney princess movies anymore right? Rapunzel was the last one. But still, I am a disney princess junkie

  • @buffyluvr69 A few weeks ago I read on yahoo news they were introducing a new disney princess. It was a little baby princess, so I think they might make some more if I'm not mistaken.

  • This clip is pretty negitive, people entering in relationships or marriage either they are committed and love the person or they do not, if you get married or are in a relationship to use someone and that goes either way, the relationship is on a downhill. Marriage whether you believe it or not was GOD's idea, not the governments or the state, it is were a man and a woman become one, whether they have children or not. Abusive people are not included!

  • haha you know yea im siding with the creator the prince only wanted to dance with her since she was all dressed up by her fairy-godmother.snow white showed nercofeliacism.Snow white wasnt the problem but the prince. Its kinda gross to kiss a person who knew was dead. And it also shows for boys you have to be cute and wealthy if not wealthy then use magic and lie.The creator is just simply pointing out stuff in a different perspective. Its just simply calling it how we see it.

  • Damn it's dangerous to critizise childhood heroes but I'll have to admit that our right in most of them =.=

  • Haha are you stupid? Go fuck yourself you stupid cunt, dont hate on disney just because you have nothing better to do with your life.. OH HERES AN IDEA maybe if you fucking watched the movies and were coherent enough to understand.. you would get it.. hahah fucking idiot

  • SHAME ON THIS MOTHER FUCKER, DISNEY IS AWESOME!

  • O.o are you CRAZY!?! Cinderella taught me that even in the worst situations, you can still find something to look forward too, hard work pays off. Aurora taught me that you are in control of your own destiny and that your missing piece is out there. Ariel taught me that there is so much more then our own world. And Belle taught me to see beyond the harsh exterior, there is good in everyone. People can change for the better. That Family comes first. You can love someone no matter what!

    SHAME!

  • I actually didn`t like that fact that: Cinderella teaches you that women are abusive towards eachother, Sleeping beauty teaches you that only a man can save you and until then you`re as good as dead, Beauty and the beast is about how women SHOULD change her man (and we all know how men love that...Just dump the grumpy asshole and move on girl :) an don`t get me started on snow white..."I`m so pretty AND I`m a good mother...come save me from the evil abusive other woman!"...

  • LOL SUPER WIN!!!

  • IF these cartoons were all Good and had no little bad.. they wont be so nice to watch ??

  • I grew up with these movies as well and never had any of these ideas, and still don't.This video is flat out stupid and pessimistic. You failed to mention Tiana,Mulan, and Pocahontas.Tiana worked her ass off and taught girls to work hard for what you want in life.Pocahontas taught us that love knows no race,to be brave, and respect mother earth.Mulan taught us girls to be strong and protect the ones we love (and so did pocahontas). Belle even taught me to see the beauty in others,so this video is BS

  • Ur sooo right :D

  • I grew up with these movies, and I NEVER got any of these idea from them. Cinderella was a good girl, not a princess, who worked hard and was kind and eventually karma came around for her. Belle taught girls to see past what is on the outside. I could go on, but come on. Oh, and by the way, ALL THESE STORIES WERE FAIRY TALES BEFORE DISNEY MADE THEM INTO CARTOONS. So if you want to complain, complain about the fairy tales that were being told for HUNDREDS of years, not about Disney.

  • hahaha so funny and so true

  • This is all crap especially about ariel........Are you guys going to live with your parents all your life.....I am sure you'll move out and marry that guy you love

  • Well Cinderlla taught me to work hard and it works out in the end, Belle taught me you can't judge people by their looks. Sleeping beauty taught me to be who I am. Snow White taught me that kindness goes a long way. Jasmine taught me that sometimes adventure helps your developing in life. And Ariel taught me that if you love something you will do anything for it. :)

  • Sad but kinda true

  • That's not how all the guys are portrayed either, I mean watch Atlantis.

  • This kinda scared me

  • My thought was that if you pick up life lessons from disney movies then you really need to get out more. Their a twist off of fairy tales...meaning that it's just a story. Enjoy the entertainment then move on

  • Most of this I somewhat agree with because in society women are always focused on beauty and looking like the perfect form of femininity and yet gender shouldn't matter. I think it's good when they teach rebellion as long as you aren't hurting anyone. Sometimes seeing rebellion will make people savages and trying to demand for things not to change. With so many religious people there are many that say that it is strictly forbidden to be different. (like with most old disney movies)

  • Pause at 0:5 something scary will pop up

  • Isnt the guy who plays beck from Victorious the REAL Aladdin

  • @JourneaForever yeah)))

  • 3:29 evil micky

scared the absolute crap out of me XD

  • 2:13 ish a pretty picture where u get it? and by the way princess dont teach you that you faget!

  • I agree with KaloloksNiYukyats and crazyteennerd and besides no child is going to make the assumptions that you mention, they may see the girls' beauty but they all have so much more than that

  • Be charming good looking and use magic. My goal in life lol.

  • Anyone else think the music is kinda scary?

  • Beauty and the Beast isn't about abuse. Belle stayed with the beast to keep her father safe and because she made a promise. She fell in love with the beast when he started to show a good side. He became kind and gentle and that is when she started falling in love with him, she hated him when he was mean but stayed there because she had promised to.

  • I have no idea what they mean when its talking about cinderella and the video says that its not hard work that counts but beauty, because that girl worked her ass off everyday of her life. I mean if that was me, I think that I would kind of deserve a prince

  • @thepupitregirls24 Her hard work is not what got her with the prince. She sat around waiting until she received the opportunity to magically transform her clothes and makeup to look pretty. This is what makes the prince fall in love with her as portrayed in the movie. Believe in magic to solve all your problems!

  • @tqrecords no, what made the prince fall in love with her was the fact that she wasn't like the rest of the snobby girls he had seen so far. yes, she was beautiful, but he was more interested in her kindness and lack of interest when it came to impress him. he fell in love with her kind heart, humble ways, and love for everyone, opposed to the wicked step-sister's who were selfish and cruel and in the end, got nothing.

  • @BeatlesLuver32 In the Disney version of the story, the one time they met they barely said two words to each other. Its hard to believe the prince recognized all of the qualities in her that you mentioned, just from that. Overall the story suggests that the girl has to marry a wealthy man to live happily ever after. Its an old story which may have had relevance to the time it was written in, but translating to modern times these morals just don't cut it anymore.

  • @tqrecords While I agree that they did fall in love in an incredibly short amount of time, I'm pretty sure they did talk for a while. In the song, "so this is love" the song is more playing in the background rather than having them singing it in real time while they dance/walk around the castle grounds. Plus, I highly doubt that she would've bothered going to the ball if she only had a few minutes before 12 and she stayed w/the prince until midnight.

  • @ImaRocketDog1 That said, it does seem unusual that after spending so much time together, they wouldn't even bother asking each other's names. There's a marked passage of time yet at the end of the night Cinderella doesn't even know it was the prince himself she was with the whole time!

  • @tqrecords One question: Since you (obviously) hate Disney so much, why did you even waste time making this video? If you really hate it so much, just avoid it, geez! There's no reason for you to make this video and offend everybody.

  • @4dacommetz I don't hate Disney, I just disagree with the messages they are sending to their main audience - children. There are millions of videos on the web that contain content which expresses a different opinion on a subject. If someone gets offended by that, then that's their problem. I suggest they avoid things that offend them.

  • @BeatlesLuver32

More like Kardashians - Step sisters.* Lol.

  • @BeatlesLuver32 lol no, I'm pretty sure if she was ugly as fuck the prince wouldn't even give a shit about her so called "qualities"

  • What song is this?

  • That picture of Mickey Mouse at the end scared the shit out of me...

  • Don't forget--Disney also teaches us that in order for Ariel to be with a man, she has to give up her voice...

  • What about Kiara from Lion king 2?? and FYI Cinderella taught me that a pair of shoes can change your life...

  • I love how people like this assume our kids are too stupid to tell the difference between fiction and reality.

  • Comment removed

  • also

1 - no princess was sitting on the arse waiting for the miracle, just cause she's so gorgeous. so Disney doesn't inspire laziness!

2 - you are not following your own trail of though:

1:10 (Belle) you say - appearances don't matter unless you are a girl, and then at 2:47 - on men, you say - 'be CHARMING, RICH and GOOD LOOKING'? so?

and anyhow, what do you suggest - be an ARSE, POOR / non-ambitious, and UGLY...

i am sorry, but in the real life, girls won't put it as their first choice!

  • I agree with Jasmine completely. Which is weird because I never liked her because she looks like a prostitute.

  • lol OH MY GOD!!!

    - it's ok for a guy to molest you while you are asleep (Sleeping beauty)!

    - it's ok to drastically change you body for a man! (L.Mermaid)

    hahahaaaa

It's the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard on the topic of sexism in Disney cartoon!

you are so silly, you just made my day!

  • Stupidest thing ever u just want something to complain about gosh ur stupid

  • Wtf no kid pays that much attention

  • disney didnt teach this to children, society did.

and dont worry about the boys, disney recently bought marvel because these original movies were mostly directed to girls anyway since they were fairy tales and all.

frankly, these disney debates are silly

  • so glad im a man!

  • It is the same with the discussion about barbie dolls. Comon all the negativity. We got brains to interpret the real world.

  • If you already believe in those NEGATIVE ideas then Yes, those films support those ideas because those are the ideas you already see+believe in. Others don't hold such negative concepts in their head, they hold POSITIVE ideas and so when THEY see these films they actually see the Positive like love, hard work, belief, friendship, and faith. So the films actually support POSITIVE ideas by eye of the beholder who see only those ideas. "Its all relevant" means I can watch Hitler+see love.

  • THIS IS AMAZING! Done very well and absolutley spot on!

  • People over think these... they are FAIRYTALES! Finding love? People need to calm down-.- You really need to learn the definition of 'Molest' theres a big different between Molest and kiss. These are for children. Im NOT insecure because of Disney Princesses? They taught me so much, more on the lines of being kind, thoughtful, caring, gracefull, beautiful on the inside! Disney is magical. Its captures you at a young age and stays with you forever<3

  • I don't think the point of the original Disney movies was to learn anything.

    It was purely for entertainment.

It was a fantastical journey that you could be taken on by popping in a DVD into your VCR.

Now, with films like The Princess and the Frog, Tiana shows young girls that hard work is rewarded and appearances aren't everything.

I believe Disney changed the messages their sending because women are being more liberated. They're changing with the times. For me, that's enough.

  • It's a story for kids while it may insinuate that stuff it's not the intention u have pointed it out and now kids who are on YouTube will know what u over reacted on and will ruin there childhood.

  • True...but we don't realize it til we watch them as teens.

  • So true, so true...

  • wow, I wonder what you'd say if you heard the real stories about these princesses before disney changed them

  • stupid, stop looking up shit like this and placing it into peoples heads. your teaching them more than that shit is. shut up. when did you grow up prude...

  • @varvara89 That's actually only little.mermaid. Cinderella , Show white come from Brothers Grimms fairy tales.

  • They thought me that i hve to be horny to get a man

  • No Cinderella taught me that hard work is always rewarded bell taught me that reading a book takes you on an adventure sleeping beauty taught me to be who I am not what people want me to be snow white taught me to use the beauty from within and be true to your self be kind jasmine taught me that adventure is a good way to meet new things Ariel taught me that love is magical

So yah maby jasmines top is short and maby to you they r those thing but I learned a ton of wonderful things that helped

  • @crazyteennerd So, Disney as a whole taught you how to make bullshit up.

  • 0:17-0:20 i love seeing them all line up like that, dunno, i'm still a little girl i guess :p

  • They also teach girls to where low cut dresses

  • So trur

  • Come on! It's not Disney's "disovery". That's Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales (most of them).

  • Gosh, that mickey at the end scared me as hell >.>

  • wow impressive!thats so true!

  • I hate the Disney princesses because they make toddlers, yes toddlers, feel bad about the way they look. It's sick how they are all flawless with perfect hair and perfect faces and ridiculously skinny waists, they should out some real looking princesses out there. I'm glad they stopped making the princess movies.

  • @haggismone

YEAH your maybe right...i jsut bought a disney princesses book story for my dotter...seems like seh wun like the skin complexion though..but have ahm,the frog prince,i think the princess there is black skin..my dotter wun feel bad...

  • @haggismone Have you ever actually SEEN a toddler say "I must get plastic surgery so I can look like the Disney princesses"? You need to chill out a bit.

  • Hahaha I like how you didn't writte be rich with aladdin.

  • i kind of agree with aurora though all that girl does is sleep..moral of the story: when life gets hard, take a nap.

  • look you also have to look at the good messages that disney portrays in the princesses. cinderella showed that it shouldn't matter what your backround is. belle taught girls to look beyond appearences. also, she showed that you don't always have to be the brainless busty blonde to get the guy. you can be a bookish brunette. jasmine taught us never to just allow people to decide your fate for you. snow white portrayed that kindness is very important. mulan showed us how to be truly courageous.

  • geesh.. we see what we want to see. not to say there isn't a redundant thread of lameness in the whole ongoing princess scenario but ummm... I think I smell extremist feminism on this here video. what you focus on... is what you will get. life is funny like that... so good luck. on to something more positive now...

  • Am I the only one who thinks being charming is a dying trait?

  • my GOD! what else do people want to fucking complain about! shut the fuck up already!

  • It's just what you get out of it.. how you portray it. If you see the negative things in the cartoons then that's the lessons you get. If you see the positive lessons being shown then that's what you'll see. Also, these are just fairytales, stories, fiction, just for entertainment. I do agree that they do make the women very small & attractive, just like in the media, and the men are strong & handsome, usually in these cartoons. I don't think they all need to look that way.

  • I love the Princesses and Princes! They're never 'bad role models' or 'mere marketing ploys.' And think about it, Mulan wasn't alone as a Princess who did anything. 'Enchanted' had Giselle saving Robert, 'Princess and the Frog' featured Tiana with a job and 'Tangled' had Rapunzel defeating Gothel. If kids like them, it's fine. If anyone dislikes them, that's also fine, but no one can ever make anybody hate these characters. Simple as that!

Thumbs up if you agree with me. Disney Princesses rule!

  • The rebel against convention is a good lesson since convention makes you follow the steryotype instead of being who you are. My parents are happy that I don't try to fit into what I am susposed to be instead of who I truely am

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! This was a waste of my time...parent's teach your kids the difference between fairy tale and reality or they will end up like this and not be able to tell!! HAHA!!

  • did you notice these stories were all the ones written by someone else first? Disney never had an original idea, and had to change something as the grimm brothers and similar were concerned with there own societies conventions not ours.

  • It's a dlirium. If the child is stupid and parents don't spare an attention to him/her, he/she will grown up neglest without cartoons. It is very easy to charge just fairytales with own mistakes in bringing up of your children, but too hard to sit with yoyr son/daurghter and explain, what hapens on the screen. So, author, I know you are choosen first and my advice to you: don't talking about thing you are not a specialist.

  • Did you ever notice that all the princes end up being called Prince Charming at least once in every Disney princess movie

  • That last picture of Mickey Mouse scared me... o.o

  • Huh, what I learned from Belle is that reading is awesome and it's important to be intelligent.

But I laughed at "it's okay to be with a man who molests you in your sleep" xD.

  • Notice how Mulan was never mentioned. Go Mulan!

  • @chasedupthesky LOL Mulan isn't a princess xD

  • @chasedupthesky She isn't a princess, she is a disney character but isn't royalty, but she is my favorite.

  • Way to completely miss the point of the movies.

  • Yup...Magic is how I usually pick up girls :D

  • Beast wasn't abusive, neither charming or famous, maybe rich? but really? He was just lonley and scared and Bella opend his heart and mind. That didn't have no affect in this relation that she was beautiful either, shes beauty caused her only problems before she meet Beast. B&B tech boys that if u r selfish as*h**e u will get ur lesson and u can even die if u won't tech something. Actualy I am capable of understand the others of coments in this vid, but not B&B

  • THIS IS ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS VID IS REALITY.

  • What's wrong with being rich, charming or famous? Is it better to strive towards being a homeless, socially malajusted, wallflower. What's wrong with rebelling against convention, isn't that what the feminists who make these videos were all about? And I certainly think it's okay to "abondon your family"(move) wether or not its for a guy.

  • U r a complete idiot-And ure OPINION makes no sence whats so ever at all THE DISNEY PRINCESS movie are not about any of that bull shit you just posted Maybe you need to seek help because u r a very clueless person

  • It would have been better if for Aladdin it said "Pretend to be rich, famous, and charming by using magic." I found this video pretty funny and kinda true and I'm a huge Disney Dork!

  • 3:29 CLICK IT

  • if that mickey mouse was there to scare me.......... it worked!!!!!!!

  • Why I always loved Mulan the most... She's not the prettiest, smartest, sweetest, strongest, etc., but that doesn't stop her from saving a whole country. :)

  • wat they taught me

cindy:dnt let pepo get u down n if u wear glass slippers lose 1 so a handsome prince will come get u

Jas:dnt be locked away do ur own thing marry any1 u want

Arora:always ask about ur birth so if mabye there iz a curse u can avoid it

sw:dnt go into the woods alone or a guy with a big axe might try to kill u

Belle:dnt judge a book by its cover or a man by his fur

Ariel:u make changes for ur own sake not 2 b with a man or else some octupus will double cross u

    LOL xx

  • @hottietottie103

You obviously didn't learn anything at all, judging by your terrible spelling.

    Back to school for you.

  • lol

  • @Kai373

Really? I didn't know that. The last time i watched that movie i was four so i don't remember very it well... to be honest i don't remeber anything besides the raccon...

  • I used to try to run away from home as a kid to find my prince because Jasmine did it. lmao XD It kinda makes me laugh that someone else caught some of that.

  • what they thought ME

ariel: I can be whatever i want to be.

Bell: you can be a book nerd and still find REAL love. or ugly in beast's case.

Cinderella: don't let people put you down.

    Arura: ...not much

Jas': you can be poor and still find love.

Snow White: There are nice people (dwafs & the gut that going to kill her but didn't)

  • This is so true.

  • @beastie1996

Did she listened to them? Because going to the war is not the same was developing eating disorders...

Besides do kids actually retain anything from these movies? Because i don't know anyone who lives by Disney's sexist values. I didn't realized that Ariel was a crazy stalker until i rewatched the movie months ago after a nostalgic attack.

  • @EphemeralRainfall

I know Mulan is not a princess but disney includes her in the francise as well as pocahontas although they have no ties to royalty. I think they're better than snowhite who's got the ambitions of a mob wife or lazy Aurora who's only present for 18 in her own movie and sleeps for the rest of it or takes walks in the forest.

  • @Solofia98 Pocahontas is the princess of an Iroquois tribe, as daughter to the chief. They may be savages but they still have a royalty system. ;]

  • we did completely off of have the WILL and being that someone invented all these characters! They based their will and beliefs and put it in the store and just so you know...i never cared about a guy being rich or charming or good looking i like a nice guy who can make me laugh and who doesnt hurt me...leave the princesses alone little girls need to be princesses in the short time god gave us our childhood!

  • wow I really don't know what to say to this other than! It's not true in my opinion i do think they make beauty too important but its just make believe and I didn't have self issues cause i was jealouse of Ariel I had issues because of the rich snobby girls who had parents who could afford to make them look anyway they wanted the point is all these women fell in love and stood strong by it no one ever said hey rebel against your family!! they made their bad choices and good choices the same way

  • haha you do realise Disney didn't make up the stories to these? they were written by great and well respected authors like Hans christien Anderson (the little mermaid) then made into a cartoon. they were staying true to the story like Ariel being beautiful for one. at least its better than the fucking teachings of twilight!

  • @stephthenef agree with you about twilight but Disney use other peoples stories and make them too nice. In the Hans Christian Anderson version of the little mermaid, she doesn't get the prince and she dies, don't think that version would have appealed to the Disney audience though.

  • where are u getting this info this was not the influence i love in disney. why are you a disney hatter

  • I must say, I was raised on disney and never got any of this. I suppose if you sit down and look at it from an adults point of view I can see how you got it, but kids aren't gonna see it this way.

  • Mulan is NOT a princess!

  • In everything you can See Bad thinks .you just have to want it

  • Belles pictures were better

  • Oh bull-poop! You would find away to turn puppies and rainbows into crap to, you just evil!

  • well i dont think people really think that hard about .. disney princesses..

  • this is so true that its scary girls need to believe that they can be independent and special

  • i see why people think this but at the same time i cant help but think i grew up watching disney & i like to think i turned out ok :/

  • hahaha so true

  • Yes... we need more films encouraging young girls to be ruthless executives of international corporations - yes, yes, get that money and POWER! Oh... and don't let men have sex with you - become a dyke and turn 'em into caged sissy-boys! Take their money, chop of their dicks, seize the golden goblet, get back the POWER, don't let them take the wind from beneath your wings.

    Get POWER!

    POWER!

    POWER!

You seem to have a fixation with power and major problems with compassion, hope and love.

  • @Countrygent100 Those are some of the same exact things I was thinking when watching this. Sums it up perfectly.

  • @Countrygent100 thats what the boys are doing why not the girls?

  • I laughed because it's true.

  • I'll give you the little mermaid

    you got a point

and i laughed at "AND USE MAGIC"

  • These movies were made for entertainment, not to manipulate young girls! Why don't you go be stupid somewhere else and stop putting useless shit on YouTube! There is already enough useless crap on this website. And what the hell was the point of posting pictures of pretty woman that looked like the character just to put them down afterwards? Ummmm..... Get a life!

  • i understand that there are some messages sent out to young girls that are not good but i grew up with these movies and it never hurt me any or taught me that if anything it taught me to be strong willed and that some things are worth the risk but i never once tought that ihad to change myself ofr another guy or female for that matter i looked up to the princess for being strong because most of ther were not shallow

  • Disney, however, is allergic to main character death and opted for multiplying the evil of the witch and smoothing over the ending with marriage and babies. The original had consequences for the mermaid's actions, Disney proclaimed that Love at First Sight equals True Love and therefore the stupid girl must be forgiven even when she apparently has the brains of a grapefruit.

  • Case point with the little mermaid where Disney teaches a dramatically worse lesson than the original tale. In the original, the mermaid wasn't only mute - her every step was physically painful and she didn't win her prince as he fell in love with another (NOT the witch).

The mermaid had the option to save herself by killing the prince (which would at least turn her back to a mermaid) but proves her morals by letting the prince live happy ever after and accepting her death.

  • Interesting video. I agree with you on some, but not all. Made me think, though. :) I personally believe all these movies were created with no intent in mind to persuade young girls to be a certain way; they were created to be sources of entertainment and to also show themes of friendship, bravery, compassion, endurance, hard work, and to hold no bitterness towards one's enemies. Just as much as there is negative here, there is also positive.
