I know this is for beginners - but you should show off the little breakdown riff. As a bassist that picked up acoustic guitar, I would say that riff is a great way to build some single note skills. Especially since if played right you use all 4 fingers without having to move them. Dont' fear the pinky!

Sorry I know this question was to marty but doesnt matter what pick start out with soft pick what is nice is the Fender thin. The better you become try bumping up to meduim. Remember not the pick its the nut holding the pick :P

Open, Second fret, Fourth fret.

and then on the A string hit

Second fret, Fifth fret, Fouth fret.

And you got your self that little extra part to play, apply hammer ons and it sounds perfect!
