I am tired of people making this mistake.....This isnt even based on a true story....on the part where it says its based on a true story if you would pay attention (Original film) you would know that date was the day they started filming....Texas chainsaw massacre is not based on a true story....the only possible connection and inspiration of this would be Ed Gein who never used a chainsaw....but mutilated bodies and made masks out of skin
