The shot of the CART accident is Alex Zanardi who suffered traumatic amputations in this crash. He lost three quarters of his blood volume in this crash but thanks to the trackside medics he survived. He continued to race touring cars for a good few years after the accident.

For that to happen it would basically have to be a bi-section and the insides flew out, but no arms, legs, head, hands, nothing. I wonder if anyone can figure out what crash this is "supposed" to be, the picture was obviously a professionally taken shot right inside the track with a top of the line camera, I highly doubt that the photographer or the outfit he/she was with would release that photo.
