So much memories :( I used to ride with my husband, now I'm pregnant and have to be at home but I miss him so much.. May God watch over all the truck drivers and take them back home safe.
A Marriage can fail, regardless if a person is over the road,or working out of your home.I am 53 years old, retired after 31 years with a County Hiway dept. One thing I know is I wont drive over the road. The reason is not only a bitch because of D.O.T.,then fight cars, weather etc.Dispatcher on your ass,and at the end of the day,not even a thank you.Yes,been Married twice. No matter what anyone thinks about County workers, ice,no sand in front+hills.Rather get married again.Stay safe,Survivor
The road ain't no place for a married man, but is possible based on love & trust. My wife hung out for my 14 year otr career & I quit the road & joined fedex. Home daily & bring home decent pay & got my life back. Got the best of both worlds now & wouldn't have it any other way....
listening to this song makes me so thankful to still have my dad here today one of these dam trucks tryed to take my dads life when 30 tons of sand came crashing down and dang near took his life.
Thank you!!! God bless you all and may God keep you safe I'm 15 my family takes alot of road trips and vacations I have this song on my iPod and I want to join the armed forces and I think it would be nice to be a trucker for a few years before to see our Pretty country and every time we pass one at night and there all over the road falling asleep I pray for y'all you are the driving force of our nation
I am a trucker from Denmark. And to all the truckers out there. Keep the hammer down. Go with God. Sending flashing lights and blowing horns to all the cowboys and cowgirls out there.
my dad is a trucker and i love him and love what he dose. he works for first fleet, delivers to Kroger stores. i go with him ever chance i can but what i don't git why don't people understand with out trucks there is nothing. i am 15 and i git it. what would they do if all trucks stopped for 1 week??? they SHOULD be THANKFUL for TRUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I listened to this song everyday of every month my husband was gone. And all I could do was cry as I watched him leave again. God Bless All who feel the call of the asphalt. God Bless Truckers.
my husband is a trucker and i hate when he is gone, but not enough ppl give you guys credit on what you do and how we get the stuff we do, just wanted to say thanks to all the truckers!!!! may god bless you out on the roads!
Great Song! Really hits home to someone who grew up on the road. As a driver myself now I see the sacrifices my dad made for us to have a good life. Thanks Dad! To All on the road be safe and keep it between the lines!
@bulldog0046 Sorry about your father my dad just retired a few weeks back from 44 years and like your dad didnt want me to drive either but he is sure damn proud of me doing and im sure your father is exactly the same
Awsome video, i drove the big cars for 11 years, in jan 09, i let the ice and snow in indiana get the best of me, i was driving a 06 freightliner mid roof columbia and i couldnt see thru the heavy fog on I80/90 i was going 45 mph and rearended another stopped semi, i never hit my brakes, cuz i never seen him !! Here i am 2 years later suffering constant pain for the rest of my life physically and emotionally, it was always my dream fresh out of Navy to drive the big rigs like my father and all
My Dad and my brother both drove trucks for years,my Dad is done now retired my brother thought he would give it up after alot of years and some hardships,God bless his heart he's an asphalt cowboy again,God bless you Chuck and the family and every trucker and their family's.
@TITSnTRUCKS I would have to disagree with ya. I have been driving for 12 years been married for 10. I own my truck I get home every weekend. The most I spend out is 9 days at a time. I would tell any driver work hard get with a company that get you home as needed. If you can't find one work hard and buy your own truck, when you own your truck you find a good company and get your home time, or get a bad one and go broke.
@cantsurvivedownunder my dad is the same way, my mom n dad have been married for 28 years, got me and my three brothers all happy, it can work...which my daddy always says the only reason momma stayed is because hes always gone so he cant get on her nerves, but i remember when i was on the road with my old man he would get that page from momma, and hit the ol TA, Loves, pilot, or williams and call her on the ol payphone...the good days
on the contrary, there is a saying "The only thing tougher than a trucker is a truckers wife." If you have someone that stands behind you in anything you choose to do then yes it does work.
@TITSnTRUCKS no it just takes a VERY SPECIAL woman to stand behind her man and stay home alone for days to mnths on end. being the only parent 24/7 (except for brief visits). A drivers life is very hard on the entire family. There are many cases of marriages working with one parent living on the road for a living. It isn't that rare, just takes a very special person staying at home to be able to deal with it.
my daddy was a trucker for 25 years. he passed when i was 16 and now im truckin local. love following in my dads footsteps. best feeling in the world!
@Sleeper07Focus I know how you feel. I lost my dad a year ago. My dad drove for 40 years, I own my truck been driving for 12 years now and drive for the same company he retired from. I get home every weekend most times. I can say though my dad never wanted me to be a trucker, but I am sure he is as proud of me as your dad is of you. Be safe driver.
God Bless you all who are out on the roads my dad lost his life driving when I was 19 and this song reminds me of him Donnie Allen "Stroker" Milstead may God keep you safe!!!!
absolutely awesome video! i got ten truckers in my family right now either retired or still truckin and i cant wait to join them once im out of the military!
This is my my theme song every time i crawl up in the cab after another weekend that went to damn fast , to my boys , I love ya boys ands its all for you , and my woman , god knows you should have left but for some reason you stay.
That blue cab over Pete is sick, I would drive that wagon with serious pride, and my seat all the way down on the floor, to everyone stay safe and watch those crazy four wheelers, rest in peace Casper.
thank you it makes us feel better that theres actually people out there that appreciate what we do and dont look down on us thanks again for the great pics and nice words
My hubby is a trucker, about to head back out after his weekend at home. This song (and video!) is a wonderful dedication to all the drivers who keep everything going. Where would we be without them?
"If you got it, a trucker brought it. Proud to be a Trucker's Wife". :)
awesome video..married to a truckdriving man..love him dearly..raised our kids while he was out there following the yellow line..he's been driving 40 years, but doing local runs now, he see's our grandkids do things he neaver seen our own children do..but the aspalt road is for him...ty again
for all those men and woman who drive these vehicles, they are the ones that keep this country going!, there all in my prayers and for those who have had loved ones died on that open road, you will be also in my prayers. GODBLESS <3
This wasnt the song I was hoping for. Back in the 70's a guy recorded a song that ended each chorus with, "He's a diesel doggin, truck drivin', asphalt cowboy". Anyone out there know the artist?
my dad drove for 27 years and got into a terrible accident, now he has T.B.I (traumatic brain injury) so everyone be careful he always was but even that wasn't enough and he got hit. It's a rough life and i'm the son so i know what it's like to have him gone. It was terrible and awesome all at the same time, i loved working on that truck, and now it's all gone. So everyone driving out there, know that there are still people who care for you. Stay safe! don't give up.
this song always makes me cry cuz I'm a daughter of a truck driver and everyday I pray to god my moms alright but I will have to say i have seen Jason live 2 times this year both times he has sang this song and let me tell u this song hits alot hurter live then it does just listening to it like this. (I'll post a video of him singing it live in Bossier City,LA)
im in central texas, and i couldnt find a job cause of the economy, i got laid off at my last job. A trucking company just hired me and sending me to school, on wed. my soon to be wife, is a lil upset about me going over the road. i have always loved big rigs, and its the only thing i can find that has some good pay. so this song is really talking to me right now!!
Good luck ! Just be patient out there...I have been driving for 12yrs now. I started out being a company driver and now owner operator. I am ful filling my boyhood dream! When this song came out, I couldn't hear enough of it. Jason Aldean rocks! This video is excellent. I use to take pictures of trucks when I was a kid. We didn't have cam corders back then! Showing my age..lol.
thank you sir!! i thought about being a owner operator, but here yall are having a hard time, since the freight is low right now. but that could be just talk?
Just depends on who you lease on to. I think I would be a company driver for at least 1 year. Not everyone can be a truckdriver! Long time away from home and family! Not to mention the long hrs behind steering wheel. I f you make it after 6 months and still like it, you should be able to make it. You will get burned out, and you will also crave to get out on the road. Its like a drug! There will be days you wished you had something local, then you will wish for the open road! Good luck!
this was my uncle dannys favourite song unfortantly on april 15 his load shifted and steering froze and killed him that day he had a 2 week old twins and a 1 year old boy
I am a trucker and so was my grandfather, he was killed in a truck, but it's like he used to say if it was not for truckers the world would stop. The best saying I have ever seen on the back of a sleeper was " Little boys dream and a grown man's nightmare", thanks for posting.
trucking isn't always easy, but it sure is fun, I'm an o/o, drag a spread axle reefer, up and down the east coast, I-95, Maine to Miami ...c'mon , good video, that blue cabover pete is a nice unit, when I saw it one time.......thanks for all the support
This Is Awsome Thank You For The Recognition Nobody Knows What We Go Through Out there. Remember One Thing People If You Own It A Truck Driver Handled It First.God Speed All (Highflier N.E.Ohio)
truckin has been in my family for years and i hate when people bad mouth truckers. Sit back and think, if it werent for truckers, the economy would be worse than it is now
ya,that's why i became a owner operator.know i need to get my stuff to start working for my self. i have a company called MSJR Transport Inc. it's on my page if you press the blue and it will take you right there.MSJR
i know the feeling as well. i may not drive a truck but im on the roads fixing them. everywhere from south carolina up to maine. i fix OTR but my main is heavy military.
yes i know what you mean.i've been off the road for 5years.and i just need to get back to what i love to do.and put the rest of this world behide. i love the road and thpeace that come from it. MSJR
i drove otr for 7 yrs and the wife likes me home but damn i miss the road like I-70 west of denver or northern montana ill probly never see theose places again
I always wanted to drive a truck since I was little. Then when i turn 25 I went to school and on the last week the school screwed me over. Damn them. Now I have no one to teach me. Or take the test in.
How strange, the blue cabover in this video was my Daddy's. He's been a trucker for 32 years. My hubby is also a trucker. I think of them everytime i hear this song. I love you both. Thanks to all the truckers that are away from thei families to make a load deadline.
I am a trucker... hence the name is my CB handle... with out the mr. lol ... I am 23 and have had my CDL since I was 18... I knew as a little boy i would want to drive one of these big trucks... i turned 18 didnt go to school for my license... i learned it on my own... This is a passion of mine and i will drive till i cant anymore.... Screw DOT I still make my life on the road fun!!!!
I grew up @ the intersection of US 20 & US 65 in the 70s. I knew in the 4th grade I wanted to drive those trucks. I did it for more than 20 years. Now I'm in management @ a trucking company and I realize there aren't truckers anymore, just drivers. They just don't have the same passion. Damn I miss it
You know I think I am still a old school driver but all the shippers and DOT laws are taken the fun out a good life style. Keep on trucking all and go safe!
nice pete cabaover at 0:57....no diamond reo's..my brother has one..its a nice dumptruck...true work trucks in this video..nice video..thanks to all the truckers out there..my dads one of em..without them, we'de be screwed..my hat goes off to yall...."when you drive a truck, the works never done"
thats my daddys old cabover but he sold it to his best friend he bought it from the guy who owned it in this pic ya it was a good truck it ran good now it sits in siloam springs arkansas
Sorry you must be his wife answering his messages, just was surprised I recognized three trucks in the clip and found it to be more then a coincidence.
Good numbers to all the highway slamers out there be safe :)

my dad drove for 27 years and got into a terrible accident, now he has T.B.I (traumatic brain injury) so everyone be careful he always was but even that wasn't enough and he got hit. It's a rough life and i'm the son so i know what it's like to have him gone. It was terrible and awesome all at the same time, i loved working on that truck, and now it's all gone. So everyone driving out there, know that there are still people who care for you. Stay safe! don't give up.

im in central texas, and i couldnt find a job cause of the economy, i got laid off at my last job.

1horn2me 2 years ago
thank you sir!! i thought about being a owner operator, but here yall are having a hard time, since the freight is low right now. but that could be just talk?
13svincent 2 years ago
Just depends on who you lease on to. I think I would be a company driver for at least 1 year. Not everyone can be a truckdriver! Long time away from home and family! Not to mention the long hrs behind steering wheel. I f you make it after 6 months and still like it, you should be able to make it. You will get burned out, and you will also crave to get out on the road. Its like a drug! There will be days you wished you had something local, then you will wish for the open road! Good luck!

hey thanks. for the advice, and have a marry xmas, and be safe out there.

Thanks for awesome video
I am a trucker and so was my grandfather, he was killed in a truck, but it's like he used to say if it was not for truckers the world would stop. The best saying I have ever seen on the back of a sleeper was " Little boys dream and a grown man's nightmare", thanks for posting.

How strange, the blue cabover in this video was my Daddy's. He's been a trucker for 32 years. My hubby is also a trucker. I think of them everytime i hear this song. I love you both. Thanks to all the truckers that are away from thei families to make a load deadline.

WWEsuperfan95 2 years ago 2
I grew up @ the intersection of US 20 & US 65 in the 70s. I knew in the 4th grade I wanted to drive those trucks. I did it for more than 20 years. Now I'm in management @ a trucking company and I realize there aren't truckers anymore, just drivers. They just don't have the same passion. Damn I miss it

You know I think I am still a old school driver but all the shippers and DOT laws are taken the fun out a good life style. Keep on trucking all and go safe!
