  • Yes this section is right at the top before turning right up the scree to thye summit

  • You can't really have a "crux" pitch on Curved Ridge. It's like saying the crux stair on your house staircase.

  • @120buach Right lets put this to bed, I call this the crux pitch only because when i read Andrew Dempsters book 100 best scrambles in Scotland many years ago he described it as the crux, so if anyone out there wants to dispute this then you should take it up with Andrew.

  • @jamie48x I think you call it the crux pitch because you were scared climbing the stairs to the bedrooms in kingshouse hotel :-)

  • I have done the same route with the guy who filmed this and i can asure you this is the curved ridge.

  • This looks more like the first pitch of Crowberry Ridge.

There is no pitch like that anywhere on Curved Ridge.

  • I'ts definately not crowberry ridge. where we are is well up the curved ridge.

  • @jamie48x

You must be correct, as I see that same pitch under snowy conditions on the video of Curved Ridge by Al Halewood(sp?) who has some fine videos o winter climbing in Scotland.

I was up CR under summer & winter conditions many times but must have passed that bit on the right side.

  • I see you took my advice on the spelling. Sort you're grammar out and you can post proper insults

  • I'll second that jamie48 - Elmothestar - get a grip - you think you're good eh - well i bet you're sh1t compared to some people wee man.

I did that for for first time 4 years ago and utterly sh4t myself - doing it for 3rd time tomorrow - not so bad now.

  • Dude there is no crux no the curved ridge! it is a decent route from Rannoch Wall.

  • You're right dude it is a decent route. As for it not being a crux pitch dude, it is for a complete novice like Barry in the video.I hope you can forgive us for going up the ridge and not descending it like you would after climbing on the rannoch wall. You might want to spend less time nitpicking on youtube videos and learn to spell ya bawbag.

  • ah go get some baws and learn 2 climb!

Your the one acting like a fanny

  • Im more afraid for the guy behind the climber. Climber falls off, hits guy standing on ledge, climber ricochets into the rock and the man behind topples over the edge. Was a great day out when i did it. Congrats.

  • I'am the guy behind the climber if he fell and we had a scenario like you said I would catch the faller and kick his head in for being such a t*t.

  • Doing awright stevie still with the co, now a chargehand haha, what about you still doing the choc

  • well done mate, it is more difficult than it looks for a beginner. I get there with my dog and thought oh god where now. luckily had my bigger rucksac on and she went inside it ok, but added loads of weight, totally bricking it.

  • well if we had a big enough rucksac Barry would have been in it like your dog of course when we were having a pint later he said it was a piece of piss

  • Is that stevie mcgrellis I hear, I recognise the voice

    Collydug Co-op

  • sure is colin, how u doing

  • Poor Barry, will he come back climbing with us,, watch this space
