  • nice, but drop the slow mo, dont look nice at all. othervise , nice color correct

  • really nice cinematography!

  • Love the cinematic coloring!!!

  • Very cool. What frame rate did you shoot at?

  • beautiful! I wanted to take my HV20 to london but decided not to... wish I did though.

  • Very cinematic look, the lust of all indie filmakers!

  • Great video

  • amazing shots...! :)

    def.. going for Canon HV30

do you have some DOF adapter here? or just original footage and CC´ed with... ?

i would appreciate if youd give settings and stuff to my box...

if its not too much to ask...

    thanks!...

    lovely.

  • @janar17

hah sorry i was so baffled by the amazing shots that i didnt read description..

    but what about settings?

  • wow this is impressive! how much editing did u do to this though? I'm thinking of buying my first camcorder so not sure what to get at the moment.

  • Would you still recomend this camera for shorting short films?

  • how do you import the video onto the computer i have the IEEE 1394 Cable so what do I do? and what editing software do you use

  • Really awesome! Let me ask you one thing: were these scenes recorded in Full HD and then downsized or simply you recorded them in HD (720 lines)? Because I had a look on some other movies recorded with the same camera and the definition was bigger than this one. Let me know, however I really appreciate your work. Bye!

  • @denisbilli The resolution is the same as the original video files. 1440x1080. It's not possible to record Full HD with a Canon HV30.

  • @Oizno you can recored in full hd (1920x1080) via HDMI to the editing software

  • Video : Nana In New York

    Camera : Canon Vixia HV30

    Len : canon Fl 50mm 1:1.4

Editing Software : Pinnacle Studio 14

Location : Yankee Stadium & Times Square

    35mm Dof Adapter : Jag35Pro

    Director : Alexis Abreu ( Face2mime )

  • what settings did you use? do you think i can get the same effects on my canon hg20?

  • Some of those night shots were plain sexy. I love much of what I saw so far.

  • Nice man!! I have now bought this camera and she is very good. I would know what you have used the detailed settings while in the dark and twisted day. thanks

  • can you film HD straight to the MiniDV?

  • Exactly.

  • do you know if you have to, have a good computer in order to edit it? cuz i have a compag presario or something like that, it has a NVIDIA card but not that good of a precesor

  • well the mini dv format makes it pretty easy to edit. avchd is a little harder but i find it is workable. if you have any doubts on wether to go with mini dv or not because of computing power don't worry at all.

  • hey man thanks for the advice. My computer has a 2.7GHz dual core AMD Athlon II X2 processor and an NVIDIA video card. Do you think i will be able to edit my vids in HD without any problems?

  • with those specs you would have no problem at all. it will be like riding a bike. ps i have to edit avchd video format on 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo and an NVIDIA graphics. (AVCHD is much harder than minidv to edit) and my computer does fine with it.

  • thanks!!

  • no problem!

  • yes

  • this is a great demo for this camera. im fucking getting one, one of these days.

  • i need this camera how much it cost. you can make short films with this

  • i'd go with the hv40. it's the newer model of this camera and it's about $700 on amazon

  • @khiFLY craigs list 750$

  • look like a damn movie damn lol

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful, looks great. love my HV30, produces great shot when used properly

  • what were your settings for such a good quality for a low light conditions during night?

  • Yea man, reply to he's question, I would like to know too

  • Love the video. I have an HV30. What settings did you use when capturing and rendering this. I shoot in 24P Cinema mode and have used a 3-2 pulldown but It still has some jerkiness to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

  • i wanted a camera and this camera was an option now i am going to make it my mission toget it

  • plz answer... does canon Hv30 really takes this definition!? do u just used the canon hv30 or does it have any complement?

  • yes hv30 takes this type of quality it probly has the best quality for around $1000

  • That is freaking amazing......wow

  • aww.. i love this camera soo much!

  • nice, canon ftw

  • Wow, these are beautiful shots.

  • Yeah! I'm the 5'000 viewer

  • how much would this cam be int he uk right now?

I think it's settled im going to buy it real soon.

Is it good recording stuff like music festivals?

  • Nice! I have the Canon HV40 and it is a great camera.

  • alweer een heel nice filmpje:D:D

  • the cam is great. before i had the canon xm2 they called semiprofessional, but the hv30 was much cheaper and ist much better! even with one chip, its great.

  • what was the lighting set up?

  • great video, the music was perfect for this

  • thinking of buying one... your impressions about it... i think is fantastic peace of kit... but... what would u say???

  • Buy the HV40, save yourself the RIDICOULOUS ammount of trouble you'll have doing 24PSF pulldown with the HV30.

    Hv40 has native 24progressive.

  • I ordered my HV30 from the US and when using 24p, I dont have to do pulldown at all!

    I capture through Sony Vegas.

  • Just wait for the videos i'm recording right now in the united states. You will be convinced =)

  • nice man ;)

  • Love this video ..

Wanted to ask you, if i record a movie on hd mode like you did will I be able to watch it on my tv? Or do i need an hd tv.

    Tanks m8

  • You can resize the movie to normale dvd size and watch it on your tv. Or buy an hd dvd burner and an hd tv and you will be able to watch your movie in hd. (or connect your computer to your tv through hdmi)

  • wow...that was fantastic. it reminds me so much of when i lived in england...

  • was your camcorder all set to automatic settings ? and 50i ?

  • I used cinema mode and 25p.

  • I thought cinema mode had the black bars on top and bottom of the video..?

  • wow howd u get ur night shots so clear/?? all the other videos have way too much noise and fuzz in theirs but yours looks so clear!

  • Don't know. Just buy a Canon HV30 and push the record button ;)

I think it's because the color correction I added to the video. So the original video got darker and thats how the noise got reduced I think.

  • thanks! and thanks for enlightening me with amos lee

  • slowrace in london, nice

  • Please Can instruct me to which alphabet to use on the doverplate.
