Rusty is virtually an unknown name here in the UK and is probably virtually forgotten in the States. As you say, he was an excellent guitarist. I think his version of 'Green Green Grass Of Home' is the best I've ever heard. He wasn't strictly a Country singer, but he could appeal across the board like say, a Marty Robbins, Jim Reeves or Don Gibson.
I have all but the first three records you showed. Back to the record store.
I got to play with him New years Eve 1980. What a great Guitar player and Singer. Miss going to the Warf to see him and when he came in the music store to buy strings.

Strange but James Brown of all people made an r & B version of this song in 1963. Totally different yet the same song, same lyrics.
