She surely can. As a professional, you should know that the simple capacity of changing a melody following the song's tone is a sign of, at least, a little musical skill. Also, she's moving a lot, and still, she's able to sing correctly, to control her breath and push her notes beautifully. Like it has been said, she doesn't have a voice that no one else has, but she surely has a great one. She also has much more other quality as a performer.

I don't think there was anything wrong with her microphone... it's just a case of the singer choosing to deliver the most important parts vocally, and knowing that the track is there to fill in the rest. How many times have you seen a singer "take a break" and hold the mic up the crowd so they can rest? It happens all the time.
