  • Loving the bone thugs n harmony in the background lol ...what you know about that lol

  • i have another question. i have a little pudge and want to get rid of it and get a 6 pack. i was wondering what foods reduce fat around the stomach area?

  • I actually have a question. Does having a fast motabilism help with lising weight and gaining muscle? Im trying to eat more healthy

  • @kornkid22 You're actually on the right track. Having more muscle leads to a faster metabolism which causes you to lose fat. So lifting weights actually helps you lose more fat.

  • Helpful video clip... I've been practicing DietOramy eating regimen (found it on search engines) for a little bit now and my personal overall results have actually been spectacular - I lost 6% of my overall unwanted fat within the 1st few weeks

  • Im 5 4' and 131 pounds i really wanna lose 20 pounds. I eat 1200 calories a day and work out 3 times a week. Im willing to work out more often but ive done that before and i haven't lost anything!! please tell me what i might be doing wrong!

  • Hello there! Have you thought about the maximus muscle 247 workout (just google it)? Ive heard some amazing things about it and my work buddy gained a lot of muscle with it.

  • Hey Scott, quick question. I'm 6'6 238lbs down from over 300lbs a year ago. I'm trying to get to the next level of leanness. Because I work in a kitchen some days for 13 hours straight. I count calories and I'm honestly very strict with regards to portion control. However because I run all day and only get an hour for lunch I usually eat at the restaurant. What are some healthy food choices that can be brought to work?

    Thanks,

    Brandon

P.S Homemade Spahgetti with meat sauce, terrible or oka

  • U serve. A good point

  • i partially agree but yet a nutri-grain bar is going to be no where near the really unhealthy categories

  • @JPkerTutorials I disagree. Check out the ingredients of the nutri-grain bar. It is REALLY unhealthy (cant fit it in one post):

CRUST: WHOLE GRAIN OATS, ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, SOYBEAN OIL (WITH TBHQ AND CITRIC ACID FOR FRESHNESS), HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, SOLUBLE CORN FIBER, SUGAR, CALCIUM CARBONATE, WHEY, WHEAT BRAN, SALT, CELLULOSE, POTASSIUM BICARBONATE, PROPYLENE GLYCOL,

  • @ScottColby I meant you shouldnt put it in the category with ben and jerrys ice cream and Digiornos lol

  • @JPkerTutorials MONO- AND DIGLYCERIDES, SOY LECITHIN, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, WHEAT GLUTEN, CORNSTARCH, NIACINAMIDE, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, CARRAGEENAN, ZINC OXIDE, REDUCED IRON, GUAR GUM, PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B1), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), FOLIC ACID. FILLING: HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP, CORN SYRUP, STRAWBERRY PUREE CONCENTRATE, GLYCERIN, SUGAR, WATER, SODIUM ALGINATE, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, CITRIC ACID

  • @JPkerTutorials NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, SODIUM CITRATE, DICALCIUM PHOSPHATE, METHYLCELLULOSE, CARAMEL COLOR, MALIC ACID, RED #40.

Pretty unhealthy if you ask me, wouldn't you agree?

  • ooh i like this video thanks for the info, and new perspective!! Awesomeness!!

  • Ive been eating low fat ice cream, protein bars etc..... Im going to go back to eating foods that don't have a really long line of nutrition facts tommorrow, like Plain popcorn, Wheat bread, Apples, Whole milk, and shredded wheat! ive been lieing to myself thinking those foods were healthy when I think there really not. Thanks!

The shorter the ingredients the shorter the you right? I dunno but its worth a shot. I lost 25lbs eating apples milk and bread. Dunno why the frick I stopped.

  • Awesome video. Kkeep up the good work...awesome!

  • Just caught your video, will recommend it to my friends.

  • lol i heard bone thug n harmony's crossroads in the backround, good song.

  • Very smart video. I kind of already knew this, but I've been slacking off. Thanks for the reminder.

  • all natural is always the way to go

  • Thanks ScottColby

  • I can't concentrate you are cute.

  • I'm a cereal-holic. Have multiple boxes going at once. But, since losing over 50lbs last year, I've stuck with my basic core choices that have little to no sugar and fat:

Cheerios. Bite size Shredded Wheat. Bran Flakes. Corn Flakes. Simple and satisfying, alone or with fruit. If there are more than three or four ingredients, say Hasta La Vista Baby.

  • After staying away from processed foods for awhile (especially high fructose corn syrup) you don't miss them at all. In fact you will not want them because all those chemicals make you feel horrible

  • the secret is high carb, mid to low protein and low fat.

  • thats good video i see so much now that im dietin i lost 37 pounds in 2 months i never new how many car. was in my food till i started lookin

  • I use to eat frozen dinners but now I don't

  • good job man...i have went from 225 20% body fat to 180 9% body fat in 15 months. I eat 90% clean and i def know the difference. No cereal, breakfast bars here...well except maybe saturday for my cheat meals! lol

  • Um question how can you tell if your under the 2000 calorie mark if mom makes food and don't know how many calories??? Help

  • THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Good advice.

  • wow lol just makes me not want to eat ha ha/. i guess ill never see a flat tummy

  • BONE THUGS IN THE BACKGROUND! lol good advice

  • lol I agree this is so tru thankyou for the 411 my friends never beleive me when I tell them this

  • Problems with losing weight ? you have to Worry no more . Get this new diet supply and start losing weight fast easy and safe . Don't take risks with extreme diets. see more info on my channel

  • Wonderful information for people who want information on eating healthy. A lot of the time we don't always take the time to investigate what's on the other side of those packages and find out whats really in our food. So many things that may appear healthy and good for us are really bad foods disguised in a pretty package.

  • Don't forget the meats and all other things as well my friend.

  • You are Absolutely right, the foods in the middle should belong in the right hand side. They all contain sugar and high processed carbohydrates. Eliminate all forms of sugar and you will lose weight, this includes hidden sugars in fruits and milk. A banana contains about 10 grams of sugar. Your goal would be to consume 15 grams of sugar in 1 day and 120 grams of carbohydrates, high fibre as well.

  • just becuz i sit like 5 hours in front of the computer ? i would guess thats the logic reason for why im lazy, but not ignorent...

  • ignorant ? how ?

  • I completely agree. Many people are mislead by words on the box or package. The less ingredients, the better.

  • thanks!

  • one thing I think you should've added is at the beggining the example you were using with the person not losing weight. One thing that could be happening is what happened to me at the begging when I was working out. I was losing fat and gaining muscle (noob gains) and actually gained weight instead of losing it. Of course after a while you won't be able to do both at the same time. But very good video!! well explained :D

  • How a bout snacking like celery and peanut butter. Tastes great. But how healthy is the peanut butter for you?

  • That's a good snack, but even better would be almond butter or cashew butter. These are a healthier nut. Don't overdo it as they are high in calories but these nut butters are healthy for you.

    Great question!

  • I think celery and peanut butter is a great snack. I bought Smart Balance peanut butter with Omega 3 and it tastes great wit it.. I keep a jar at work too, instead of going to the vending machine.

  • Great video! Thanks so much! How do you feel about intermittent fasting? I have been following eat stop eat and I love it, which is fasting 1 to 2 times per week. I have also been eating healthy real food nothing out of a box and have been losing weight, and weight training every other day.

  • great video=].

i agree on how ppl look at boxes and believe the words instead of looking at the ingredients. for example cause its low fat makes it healthy when it isnt, just becuase it has 0 percent fat most of foods are loaded with sodium.

  • im eating oatmeal with banana every morning, almost only healthy food to dinner like 1 day in a week i might have a pizza, bread with tuna as nightfood, and im training 3-4 times a week, i have been doing this for 1 year now, and why am i not losing abs fat? im sitting about 5 hours in the front of the computer everyday, but what teen dosent right? so, what am i doing wrong?

  • Nicely done Scott!

ps ppl...potato is not good for fat loss.

If you want to eat potato save it for after a workout - & a light walk doesn't count. OR count it as part of your 10% treat time

  • what would be considered a light walk? i walk about 2 miles aday--is that light or moderate?

  • sounds like whats going on with me! I hit it hard and consistant every single day and my eating plan was right on point, I got results the first month and then started to notice belly fat increasing. I am geared up now with a lot of information I didn't have before. Mainly from my college Nutrition course and the "You-On a Diet" book. This video is also helpful, thanks for posting.

  • great vid!

  • Love the song in the background Scott!!! Bone, Bone, Bone... !!! 1996 Baby!! Oh, love the food choices and all too. Kansas City baby!!

  • I read somewhere to switch from one minute instant oats because they're processed, to real whole grain steel cut oats that take 45 mins to cook. But although I have them- when do I have 45 mins to prepare them?

  • If you soak them they won't take as long to prepare. So if you are having them for breakfast, allow them to soak overnight and they should take less than half the time they normally would. Just get them cooking and do something else in the meantime.

  • Never considered this idea. Such an eye-opener.

  • Great advice Scott. It totally hits home for me. When I was in the midst of my 54 lbs weight loss, I was tracking my intake religiously. Whenever the scale progress seemed to slow down, I could go back to my records, and it was guaranteed that I had started to rationalize how healthy a questionable food was and began to consume it regularly.

  • Here is what I eat:

Breakfast: 6 egg whites no yokes Hardboiled

Lunch: 1 can of Vegetarian beans mixed with mushrooms.

Dinner: Can of vegetables or pasta

Snack: RIce Crackers or 20 grams of protein whey bar.

It works for me. but you have to read the labels. the manufacturers could careless what you eat they lie constantly. read the labels it will shock you. also, I eat chinese rice food.

  • Oops forgot to add that I eat cheese sandwiches to reset my stomach, then it's back to healthy food.

  • Group 1 is healthy.

    Group 2 is Crap.

    Group 3 is Crap.

I'm a Vegan and I eat mainly from group 1 but it gives me diarhea(Yes you can Laugh) but when your bent over in pain it sucks. I actually eat cheese sandwiches and had to cut out bannana's all together. if you look at the fat and saturated fat content you'll see you can lose weight. Saturated fat has to be at 3% or lower and Fat and 3% or lower to lose weight. trust me I know, too many trips tothe ER room I learned quick .

  • Hey Scott...

Great, great video!!! You must absolutely avoid processed foods in order to burn fat!!! You have to learn to read labels and KNOW what you're putting in your body. The advertising on the front of the packaging is SO misleading...it's purely marketing. Keep up the good work!!!!

  • A have a question for you.I'm eating healthy.(really!)I buy only single ingredient food, always cook for myself,no boxed food is kept in the house! But i can sometimes overeat on theese healthy foods!(fruits, raw nuts, dried fruits, extra dark chocolate 85-90%cocoa cause the biggest problem!I eat my breakfast, lunch, dinner,bu whatever a have i feel hungry soon after and may consume more calories on nuts and fruits between meals.Loads of fruits. What do you think?

  • Hi Scott!I'm your listener and reader for half a year now.And i' v got a lot of useful information from you!In this video you showed one of the biggest reasons why people are so sick and unhealthy!!!They just don't realize what they are actually eating!I beleave this will a great discover for many of them.Thank you!

  • Hey Scott! I really don't have a problem losing wight. I've always been a pretty petite. My thing is, I'm not sure how to lose the tiny pouch that I have on my belly! I don't want to do any excersises that will make me lose a whole lot of weight, I would like to tone up though. Any ideas?

    ~Kinyetta~

  • Couldn't disagree with this Scott. Except that I don't think oats should be in the 80% group, you should be focusing on healthy fats first, then protein and carbs should really be an afterthought (move them into the 20% group).

  • I loved the video...great information...simple to understand

  • Love this video! You couldnt have explained it better...this is most peoples problem without a doubt! They just dont understand what clean eating is. I am a personal trainer/bootcamp instructor and I am going to send this to all my clients. Thank you for all your great info, videos and tips. Im a big fan.

  • I only partly agree. The truth is that eating healthy and eating for weight loss are 2 very different things. You can eat Lean Cuisine and low fat Wheat Thins and still lose weight as long as you keep calories in less than calories out. I agree those aren't the healthiest choices, but you can lose fat and eat those items. And single or low ingredient items aren't always healthy. Lays potato chips ingredients: potatos, sunflower oil, salt.

  • I agree with what you say, ScottColby.

But I'm wondering, if someone eats about a meal a day(which I know definitely isn't the proper diet) will results still come? Would they still lose fat in the waste or in the lovehandles just as quick?

  • I agree with you (partially) because I do tend to eat whole, natural foods. However, it's calories in vs calories out that determines whether one stores or burns fat. 100 extra calories from a banana can be worse than 100 extra calories from a Lean Cuisine meal (due to the banana's impact on insulin release). But it's still 100 calories you will need to store somehow.

While restricting calories for fat loss, you need all the nutrients you can get and processed foods lack many nutrients.

  • I think you're missing the point when you say its as simple as calories in vs calories out. Let's say you eat a large pizza, a couple beers and a bowl of ice-cream. That's probably over 2000 calories for the day. What do you eat for the rest of the day? Do you go hungry? Do you overeat? What happens to your blood sugar levels? Meanwhile 2000 calories of the types of foods I am recommending is actually a lot of food. You can't eat that on one meal can you? And you feel full and satisfied.

  • @ScottColby Actually I would go even further, if you eat those processed foods with high fructose syrup and MSG and all other crap, it also damages your liver kidneys etc. while making everything work basically worse aka slowing your metabolism down, WHILE making feel even more hungry. I absolutely avoid everything that has a list of ingredients, its a tough life since its nothing but this crap out there. Have to cook for myself all the time. Avoid high fructose corn syrup at all costs

  • loved the vidoe- this is info i think i new but find it hard to live it! so thanks for the eye opener and reminder. would love to hear what you have to say on portion control. Daniella
