  • no doubt this version is awsome. i love the live rarities. and really..... who is that 1 dislike. super lame. he/she not worthy of this music treasure

  • The Last Picture....

    BOSS!!!!!!

  • Saw this concert at the Stadthalle in Frankfurt; sound was so loud my ears rang for 2 days; also the effects he could get were incredible, as well as his creativity for ad lib guitar work....

  • I love the bootleg quality of the recording. Even here, the brilliance shines through.

  • What the hell gives pompous assholes the right to come on here and trash Jimi? A man that had more talent, originality, creativity, and ability in a cut toenail than these jerks can ever dream about having. No doubt another insecure, self-absorbed guitar player. The most egotistical punks on the planet...

  • At first I thought this was a Albert Hall version ...wow this is rare good job guy

  • that's a fucking great performance ! so , all of u who are telling it's bad ,

FUCK YOU AND GO LISTEN TO GAGA OR SOMESHIT ELSE !!

  • The picture with Jimi in the car = Priceless lol

  • gold.

  • @TheJbaerLion No,horrible actually. This is really bad Jimi here. Probably very drunk.

  • @DuscaManolescu Eat a dick fool this song is 40 years old and he was probably high or drunk just jammin for some europeans. I know I could really care less what people who can't understand my lyrics think about my music. I'd like to see you do any better than this video.

  • @StratoBlaster420 "jammin for some europeans" ?

It was the Europeans who gave him his chance in the music biz when the Americans couldn't give a shit about him. Whatever, this is definitely not his best performance but for sure he was one of the all time greats.

  • @yakiburger

Who takes that to offense? lol

  • @yakiburger for those who doubt the greatness of this song just try to play the chords and the fill ins and sing

  • I don't believe this! I was there. My buddy Mac and I, both in 6th Bn 9th Art stationed in Giessen, Germany drove down to Frankfurt to see him. I "liberated", a giant (3' x 4') poster for the concert from somewhere in Giessen, and hung it on the wall in our flat. when I rotated back home, the poster came with me. When I went back to college a couple months later, I donated it to the new Black Student Center. As Fall Out Boy sings, Thanks for the Memories. - OWGjohn.

  • @aspecfp Damn! Are you serious? You were in attendance and had to hear possibly Hendrix at his worst? I've heard similar really bad recordings including one horrible Purple Haze rendition someone posted on youtube. The question on everyone's lips is how high Hendrix must have been at that show? Would you remember if he looked fucked up at the show or was it so long ago you can't remember?

  • Amazing as always with Hendrix. And does anyone know who that girl is.

  • The photo with the girl was taken in Hawaii I believe. Ask Caesar Glebbeek of Univibes (magazine) he might know :-)

  • Really cool. Nice versions of the song. I've never heard them before.

  • Incredible! One of my favorite Hendrix tunes.

  • hey, brother Jim was a bit drunk at that time in Frankfurt, ? - sure...u gotta, at that

    place..i live near to

  • 1/17/69 Jahrhunderthalle, Frankfurt, W. Germany. 2nd Show: Come On (part 1); Fire; Red House; I Don't Live; Today; Little Wing; Foxy Lady; Sunshine Of Your Love;

  • WOW - nice scarry liitle change there @ 1:01 - unique to this version!

  • Jimi shoulduv wrote a song called Dune Buggy Blues 3:52........that woulduv hit #1 on the charts.

  • DAAAMN didn't know he have been in germany please build me a timemachine and send me back in the year of '69 so i can travel 30km to frankfurt :P

    Jimi's thee booooomb for ever!!!

    ONE LOVE!!

  • beautiful thankx for sharing..

  • I found all these recordings between 25 to 30 years ago when I used to specialise and collect everything to do with Jimi Hendrix. I dealt with collectors all around the world as well as meeting: Noel, Mitch, Al Hendrix, Kathy Etchingham, Monica Dannemann and many others. We used to trade rare material with each other and I built up one of the largest collections in the world.

  • Thats awsome! You should post some stuff...the one Hendrix thing I have been looking for is an original picture.

  • Monica Did Some Awesome -

    Pictures of Jimi on -

    Canvas!

  • where can you hear or see the i don't live today at frankfurt you all speak of. i want to hear it now.

  • part of the tuning issue could be from the tape machine or the transfers. Still great!

  • This concert features one of the most incredible versions of 'I don't live today' ever. It could be my favourite of them all.

He then plays this Little Wing.

  • hi, where did you find all these rare bootleg recordings? please answer me! thanks

  • This performance is Emotionally charged. His strings are out of tune but he's intune with the band which is all that matters... The solo has fuzz box on too, I love it!

  • SUPERB! I've had this on a bootleg casette for probably 30 yrs, haven't heard it in a long time - Thanx KeepPlayingTheRecord!

Jahrhunderhalle, Frankfurt, West Germany, 2 Shows (w/lots of soldiers in audience so Jimi includes 'Reveille' and 'Last Post' during songs): Come On, Fire, Red House, I Don't Live Today, Little Wing, Foxy Lady, Sunshine of Your Love, Hey Joe, Purple Haze, Voodoo Chile...

  • Bused over from kaiserslautern army barracks to see the greatest in action; thanks BB 4 bringing it.

  • thanx KPTR

  • No Problem Bro! THANK YOU for ALL you and your bros have DONE FOR US as a nation!!!

  • family tradition; son (Corporal USMC)returned from Irag last week, 10 fingers, 10 toes. My father (RIP) in front lines of the Pacific.

  • Yup, this is a beautiful and bluesy rendition of this tune. A bit out of tune in parts but as previously mentioned, he just played a mind shattering I don't Live Today so I forgive him!

Great guitar player and any electric guitar player would give their heart, brain and lungs to spend with the man and learn from his musical genius.

  • Incredible! One of my favorite Hendrix tunes. Thanks a bunch for posting this.

  • Sounds a bit out of tune but still beautiful playing. Jimi always finds a way to make it sound right... (after saying this, it turns out he played a 10 minute version of I Don't Live Today before this so of course he'll be a bit out of tune.)

    Thanks for the upload.

  • I agree, the tuning isn't spot on but it's a great performance nevertheless. Thanks for the comment.

  • @KeepPlayingTheRecord It's a very good performance. Can you please upload Come On pt. 1 and I Don't Live Today from this concert? Thank you.

  • amazing! humor and brilliance all in one.(1´30)

  • wow another version of little wing :D

this is rare rare RARE :)

  • Yesss!! Thank you so much!
