  • I can't connect the last nishouyaku in the combo that works against Q I'll do the move but it'll never hit him in midair. help?

  • @bboygreatguy Try slowing down the target chain. Allow Q to fall back a little more and your first bike kick will whiff but only second one will hit.

Practice the target chain without the zenpou to get the timing. It's a lot slower than you expect.

  • the last one done against ryu was the first one i ever learned :D

  • Damn, those look TOOOOUUUUGH!

practice always makes perfect, i guess.

  • I can't do these trials for the life of me. I just can't.

  • do you use a square gate arcade stick?

  • @AnimeFreak2204 Most MadCatz Tournament Edition sticks are square gate :)

  • Hard game but im getting better

  • I was wondering, is those arcade sticks resistant and durable ?

Cause I see that you tap these buttons hard and it doesn't break

  • @ddblad5 These MadCatz Tournament Edition sticks are quite durable. I've had mine for only about a month and I push quite hard and play quite often. So far, no problems whatsoever and I haven't heard of any detriments from other users :)

  • for the third trial i cant seem to connect the c.mp after genei jin......is there any speciall way to do it? or just practice practice practice with the timing

and does it matter which punch you use for the shoulder afterwards?

  • is there like a short cut or a way to buffer to genei-jin quickly, I can't seem to get it on time.

  • @riceman789 this doesnt buffer genei jin but after lp lk mp u can hold mp until you do the qcf qcf and then let go and press pp this way u have i think 3 chances to get it ( negative edge of mp the the pp and negative edge of pp) or u can just drum it but i find the other one easier

  • i didnt hear a hei hei hei

  • now do it on a ps3 controller d-pad

  • @Grindking

Vesper has a video doing SSF4 trials on pad. Should be on his channel still.

  • This game can only be played with a stick. I got the game but don't have the money for a stick :(

  • @DatNewNew21 no its not just gota practice

  • @DatNewNew21 I'm doing fine with mu dualshock 3.

  • thisss game is hard as shit not for sf4 players

  • @MrKurtisdtb01 dude im actually way better at this than street fighter 4 and i played 4 since it came out i find this game easier.. well if you know the combos and chains

  • @MrMichaelBlackson well damn i cant barely get an ultra in this game whats up with dhat

  • @MrKurtisdtb01 your not gonna hit an ultra in this game without using a combo to chain it first . use yun or ken ;)

  • Sick button presses lol

  • Sigh keep missing the jab zesshou on combo 5 haha :[

  • i cant even get past Crouch Forward WTF i do the move but the Crouch Forward is a fucking puzzle for me

  • On the last trial, I always whiff that last Zesshou after the Towards+Fierce, any tips?

  • hey guys can u help me out, in trial 5 when im doing it, after i activate the genei jin. half the time i can't connect the st. mp(too slow?) and half the time i do, what am i doing right to connect that st. mp. HELP!

  • Why would you piano the grab on trial 4? There is no strict timing as it's the beginning of the combo.

  • You are my hero.

  • @IneedAbttrscreenname Was gonna say the same thing...

  • TRIAL 3 has you comboing c.mp into s.hp while you are in genei jin. normally this doesnt combo but with gj activated, almost everything combos if you hit it fast enough. hit the c.mp then hp really fast like its a target combo

  • @shadesbelow thanks for the tip :)

  • why do you hit 2 buttons when you only need to hit 1...

  • @wra7h you must be referring to the "piano roll".... since when doing a super you can hit either of the punches, pressing all 3 in series gives u a total of 6 chances at getting a punch in at the right time to complete the super input. 6 becasue the game counts the release of a button as an input as well. look up "negative edge"

  • trial 3 is bs c.mp s.hp doesn't even connect

  • @powerbar118 you're right there, so annoying.

  • @powerbar118 in genei jin it does you fucking moron sf4 HAHA LOOK IM A TROLL

  • Hold forward as soon as you grab Q. There is a slight gap where you can walk forward a little bit to make the target combo connect. Basically, just hold forward from when you grab him till when you need to tap forward again for your SRK.

  • @TheAkkaSamurai but how do i make the first upkick hit only once?

  • @KaiserBullet Do the target combo slightly slower and when you cancel into the upkicks it will only hit once.

  • 4th trial does require special timing on the target combo, u gotta go slow. target combos are very lenient compared to links so you can vary the speed. the slower u do it the more q gets pushed back, then the mk upkicks only hit once, allowing your lk upkicks to hit. pay attention to vesper's speed on that particular target combo, he dials it in slower than on the other combos. try saving this video to ur comp w a special website or program and play it at a slower speed for study purposes

  • 4th trial doesn't work for me.. first upkicks hit twice. is there special timing or spacing or something?

  • How long to you play one character to be THAT good?

  • @MajorDude421 Not too long, these are just trials. And there's no pressure in doing them. This is opposed to playing in a real match. Plus, once you get the basics of execution down, you can do combos for any character.

  • What causes the palms to miss during the genei-jin on Trial 5?

  • vesper play some matches online and post them!!!!! it will be so sick

  • I can't even tell where I'm fucking up at on Trial 5. I activate ginei-jin and sometime between the next 2-3 moves I fail.

  • It sounds like he's double tapping some of the buttons.

  • Well I managed to pull off Trials 1 and 2, but from there onwards it just seems so daunting. What's the key to learning how to remember and pull off such huge chains of attacks? (And yeah, I'm using an arcade stick). I like the game but it's making me realize how much of a novice I am, haha.

  • @LEW2X In my humble opinion the key is breaking the combo down into parts, don't try to do it all at once. Instead, try to get the first part down, and only practice that until get it down, then add another part, then another part, keep repeating this pattern, and before you know it you're doing the whole thing :D

  • @cmysharingan I'll try that then! I'll just take one step at a time until it's second nature to me. If I can just get that and parrying down I think I'll at least stand half a chance in the game. 8D;

  • Well, at least I've completed the first two trials...

  • GayAsian!! Lol xD

  • how many characters has this game?

  • i would really hate to play you online

  • Meh not that impressive when he performs Keeper-Gin in a fight then il be impressed...

  • @james12786 He's not here to impress you

  • :20 - :27 .... True Gamer

  • yo wth i can't freakin do combo 4 it always hits him with the first kick and it's pissin me off wtf!!!

  • @killamike727 You have to walk forward for a split-second after the command grab. The MK up kicks should only do one hit in order for LK up kicks to combo.

  • good god Combos 3 and 5

  • I love this game but im having trouble cancelling normals into genei jin... Seems so strict unlike ae. Any advice?

  • @norcal69sf Practice is the only thing you can do here. There are no shortcuts unlike in SF4.

  • why double tapping all the time in sf3?

  • @Barryms0083 you do that for ss4ae to with yun, it's an smarter way to make sure that his combos go through on the "standing strong" part into "roundhouse nishoukyaku" or yun's "mp, hp, <-- HP" target combo into genei jin, for instance.

  • @Barryms0083 Negative Edge.

  • I can nail most of these combos with yun on ssf4ae, if you're wanting to buy this game, BUY IT, ignore what that guy below said, ss4ae is $40 if you don't have ssf4, sf3 is only $15, come on now, trust me, practice makes perfect, same principle for every fighting game, if you practice 3rd strike like crazy and compete against other players and learn good defense, offense, and how to read others, you'll be fucking good, just go for it, believe in yourself.

  • NICE! thanks dude

  • i got it im a scrub all trials done

  • @akito954

If you're a newcomer, go straight for Arcade Edition. You can still find good players but the 3rd Strike community I pretty enclosed and not very welcoming to newcomers.

  • @welcometoGARYVILLE So true but Third Strike offers much better practice in terms of SF basics like footsies because it isn't anywhere near forgiving as SF4 >.<

  • @monkeywolf I know what you mean and agree, but as good as footsies are I prefer all of the other elements in SF4. I hate the shortcuts and insta-reversals but it's a wider catering and carefully designed base, 3S is pretty much for 3S fans these days it seems.

  • @welcometoGARYVILLE True I prefer SF4 because it's easier to do things but in terms of improving for the long run I think 3S offers a much better hmm...core practicing experience if that makes sense. Like If you want to get really good at things like hit confirming or mind games or all those high level elements, 3S teaches you that in spades imo.

  • @welcometoGARYVILLE yeah I have to agree with you entirely. I guess I've just had it with 3S vets stubborn refusal that SF4 is any good at all these days :)

  • I can't seem to get the jab lunge punch to hit on his last trial. Does it have to be kara'd or something?

  • @JyuuinShitau me either

  • @JyuuinShitau kara with LK..... QCF + LK~LP

  • @sinsang Thank you!

  • @sinsang how do i know if im doing the kara right

  • easy mode

  • these are easy, thx god they didnt put karapalms and keeperjin D:

  • doubt u can don any of thoes combos on the new street fighters so idk wic 1 to buy 3rd strike or super

  • @akito954 Basically, Third Strike was MADE for competition, so you might feel pressured when playing against other, experienced, players...BUT, it has a unique cast of characters, and it is very fun to play at a casual level.

SSF4 Arcade Edition is scrub central when it comes to online, but it has a big ass roster, so you're at freedom to pick any character that you would like to play and have fun.

Watch more videos of both games and see what you would like, that's my only advice.

  • do u get a cheevo 4 doin errbody combo challenge?

  • @patrickriley360 you get an achievement for writing everybody

  • @patrickriley360 no u dont

  • You make it look so easy :(

  • @javdaman123 5 is really the only tricky one, and thats because the jab lunge punch at the end has to be kara'd

  • @xXBroJacKsoNXx jab lunge punch does not need to be kara at all just regular works.

  • @javdaman123 that's because it is.

  • that last one is pretty much the reason why genei-jin is used.. to build the next meter for harassment again..

  • Boner material

  • ive been waiting for these now ive seen them ill give them a miss

  • PREPARE FOR BATTLE

  • o.o
