The fight we just witnessed here is totally effective, the guy sluggin it out was obviously trained in boxing, his stance and his punches were all orthodox, and is why it's effective in the ring, and on the streets.

Some of these comments I'm reading are fucking stupid as hell. I think half you people here don't know anything about MA, MMA, or any type of street fighting. The fight we just witnessed here is totally effective, the guy sluggin it out was obviously trained in boxing, his stance and his punches were all orthodox, and is why it's effective in the ring, and on the streets.

I mean you have to be blind not to see that what he did was not effective. Those are SPORT techniques that he used and those guys got up and pursued! You hear the girl calling out again once they caught up with the boxer for round 2. What I call effective is to leave those two lying on the ground incapacitated (maybe even crippled for life)cursing the day they were born, especially if you are defending your wife/girlfriend.

I am a 'martial arts fighter' kickboxing/mma.. and i'm training 7 days a week. I watch a fair bit of UFC etc yes.. and i'h hazard a guess that more than 1/10,000 are KO punches.. but yeah most aren't.. but then the other guys are also trained to parry and dodge punches. All i'm saying is your thinking WAY too excessive (or maybe trying to be the 'big guy' as alot of people seem to do on here).

I gave you my "resume" just to show that I am not prejudiced against punches having been trained in boxing and other hard styles,back in my country we used to punch concrete wals and common metal mailboxes to harden our knuckles. What I would have done in that situation if I was with my wife or mother etc I would have went straight for the eyes, throat, knees etc and possibly would have went for my gun. To each his own.

The street is a totally different reality than the dojo or the ring. If those guys weren't intoxicated that guy would have been in a LOT of trouble.What if they would have pursued and pulled a knife(or gun) because you used sport techniques and failed to incapacitate them like our "hero" up there? Would you risk that kind of harm to a loved one? If you're alone RUN! Avoid possible injury and the law. But if you're protecting a loved one better make sure they stay down.But hey that's just me.

yeah, I agree with you.. just to an extent, i just think weapons is a step too far, i mean.. a kick to the groin, no probs.. eyes.. no probs.. kick across the knee.. a good one will break it.. but also.. i think where that guy goes wrong is stopping before they are un able to give chase.. so i think were on the same wave length haha just not the weapon bit ;oP

Imagine you're with your wife, mother, maybe kids, and you're walking through the park like this guy, but instead you face a deliberate attack, 2 or 3 or 4 guys come out of the bushes armed with knives, bats and heaven knows what else, determined to rob, rape and possibly kill your family.Are you going to use your martial arts?I didn't think so.Martial arts training and firearms go hand in hand, both are necessary to successfully defend yourself and your loved ones on the street today.

Punches not so powerful ? Those guys evaded a few trying to retreat and pushing their arms straight on the attacker which is all defensive work and not even smart one. Everytime guy did a little contact they fell, ok they didn't die but I guess that was allright for the boyfriend.

Ok it might have been staged. If it wasn't staged this shows just one thing: punches are not as strong as you might think, the guys ate quite a few, one of them even went down but they still got up and pursued. And they were drunk too so they didn't fight back too much. This should teach you not to rely too much on physical prowess but carry a weapon also.

If you know what your doing your body is a very capable weapon.. and a good punch will KO someone full stop. search ufc ko's.. plenty of big punches from trained persons. people have been killed by 'one punch' just had to comment. ta :)

My friend you are obviously not a martial artist or a fighter. My father was a boxer and he started training me when I was a child then he took me to learn martial arts. Growing up in Europe I was in a lot of street fights. The fist unless highly conditioned is not a good weapon for defense or for attack.Those UFC guys are animals and even there about one in 10000 punches is a knockout punch, you haven't been watching the UFC a lot have you?
