I also had a problem with whether songs are allowed in Islam or not and wether women are allowed to sing. My advice would be for one to research on it on the internet and in books found in Islamic libraries. Personally i believe its allowed as long as its clean and does not involve men and women dancing together or women dancing in front of men. Maasalam.

@Sohailafsal um..i think its okay...because she's singing about Allah Swt and the beloved prophet (Pbuh) and the music in the background is just drums and simple instruments, not like advanced techno instruments (because the prophet Pbuh allowed playing of the duff - which is a kind of drum).

Plus she's in proper hijab; her body is covered.

However, what she is doing wud be permissable in front of women only, because if non-mehram men hear her voice it could lead to fitnah.

i m sure this is NOT good to sing in a way of SONG. actually she ruined nasheed too coz she is singing like a song. first mistake she did is that she came without hijab in front of males, 2nd she sing like song. so all wasted.
