@323504 no. not in japan. you can only find this spec c type rar in japan, and the rules of rallying say that you can't have an ingine bigger than 2.0 litres. but america has the 2.5 because they ride smoother and are easier to handle with the bigger engine. you'll notice that in japan the sti is a lot quicker and built differently than in america. they use better suspension and everything in japan.

I used to think the X stod for variable as well until i saw this site.

This one rev'd to 8k and STI's run those RPM's. The EJ20 2.0L WRX's run 7k rpm redline. This one was a special edition with the 2.0L motor set to run 8k. I have a 2003 WRX with the 7k rpm redline and trust me you don't need high rpms to make huge amounts of power in these cars.
