i stop at the north baltimore petro quite a bit and the ONLY reason you have to back into a spot there is cuz you want to park up front. go back a few rows, take the extra steps and have your choice of 3/4 of an empty parking lot. that being said, when i see another driver struggling i get out to help and hopefully the new generation keeps up on that cuz the old timers are content to sit back and do nothing but tell us new drivers wtf we are doing wrong.

The major companies instruct you to not help out because they don't want to be held liable. Plus, the driver needs to be accountable for his actions. It's obvious he could have just pulled forward to park if that was his/her intentions. If they had other intention then they were the idiot for being in such a predicament.

I have a backup camera that I install on any trailer I pull.I don't know if it's permitted to run the wire to the front the way I did am but , it sure is nice to see into that blind spot not to meshion the pretty blue sky ect..It cost $300 & 20 hours in my workshop ect.

Problem with helping is, if the driver hits something the helper is at fault, not the driver. hence the reason most companies have a G.O.A.L. program. GET OUT AND LOOK. if you wish to be responsible for some dumb ass backing in to something then by all means jump out help

I would have got out and helped this driver get out this tight spot,Iv been in some tight spots backing,and i was glad a driver help me out,getting in to a tight parking spot,because a driver was too lazy to see if they was parked on the line.When i park my truck i get out and look at how i am parked,away from the lines.

He probably was parked for the night, nose in so nobody could back into his hood while he slept. He wakes up and the lot is packed, as usual, with a truck right behind him parked on the edge of the pull in parking slots. He needed some help backing as close to the truck behind him without hitting it. It's hard to judge that distance using just mirrors. Instead of being like too many that have a habit of jumping to criticize, just go help out your trucker brothers and sisters.

I have 23 years drive time. I always appreciate someone playing lookout for me at a truckstop..I can put a trailer anyplace I want but I am always happy to thank another driver for their assistance on tight backing situations...A little less wear and tear on the nerves on a rainy night is always welcome...

When did truck drivers start pulling forward into truck spots? I quit driving almost 10 years ago, and still remember 1 simple rule about parking... find a pull through parking spot, but if you can't, back it in to the easiest spot you can find.
Secondly, all of you suggesting help don't realize, that (1) a driver helping another driver seems nice, but if he backs into something, guess who gets blamed and later gets to appear in court...

Inside eating a muffing and pounding V8's Look out and see a Werner driver all tangled up in a space big enough to host the FIFA world Cup. Too late though he already caved in the left side of the hood and ripped the spot mirror off the fender. That is exactly why you pull straight in rather than backing in.

I could have simply showed him why he should have gotten out to look or at least pull up to use his mirror on the blind side, but instead I had to call the cops, file reports, wait for Road service. 4 hour ordeal over a caved in hood vs a 4 minute verbal assault for a scratched container. Pulling straight in from now on. Lesson Learned.

This is why you should NEVER nose-in to a spot. Nosing-in is just plain lazy. However, it "looks" like the white truck behind him made his own spot at the end of the row giving Mr. PTL less room than he should've had to get out.
Had a PTL driver take my hood off at the Pilot in Denver! I was parked, vacuuming my sleeper and he told the police I pulled out of the spot and hit him! Luckily the guy next to me saw the whole thing happen. Too many idots in trucks anymore!

Problem with helping is, if the driver hits something the helper is at fault, not the driver. hence the reason most companies have a G.O.A.L. program. GET OUT AND LOOK. if you wish to be responsible for some dumb ass backing in to something then by all means jump out help

the truck might of gotten there before other trucks, and i think the driver did a great job backing. he/she was slow at backing and took their time. maybe the guy who filmed this needs lessons on how to help others. take your ass back to grad school and stay there, people like you get beat up in truck stops.

He probably was parked for the night, nose in so nobody could back into his hood while he slept. He wakes up and the lot is packed, as usual, with a truck right behind him parked on the edge of the pull in parking slots. He needed some help backing as close to the truck behind him without hitting it. It's hard to judge that distance using just mirrors. Instead of being like too many that have a habit of jumping to criticize, just go help out your trucker brothers and sisters.

This job is stressful enough as it is and would be a lot easier and better if we all helped out one another. I've actually had guys stand outside in the pouring rain getting drenched to help me get backed into a tight spot at a receiver. Without him I would not have been able to get it and and thankful and because of that I will do the same!

When did truck drivers start pulling forward into truck spots? I quit driving almost 10 years ago, and still remember 1 simple rule about parking... find a pull through parking spot, but if you can't, back it in to the easiest spot you can find.
Secondly, all of you suggesting help don't realize, that (1) a driver helping another driver seems nice, but if he backs into something, guess who gets blamed and later gets to appear in court...

Inside eating a muffing and pounding V8's Look out and see a Werner driver all tangled up in a space big enough to host the FIFA world Cup. Too late though he already caved in the left side of the hood and ripped the spot mirror off the fender. That is exactly why you pull straight in rather than backing in.

I could have simply showed him why he should have gotten out to look or at least pull up to use his mirror on the blind side, but instead I had to call the cops, file reports, wait for Road service. 4 hour ordeal over a caved in hood vs a 4 minute verbal assault for a scratched container. Pulling straight in from now on. Lesson Learned.
