Man at that point he was a master, one of the greatest, next to Pacino, De Niro, Hopkins, etc. He was at that moment one of the best actors ever, I mean, after Brokeback Mountain and the Dark Knight he reached to another level, like James Dean or Brando. We missed him to show us all of his talent, but this minute has proven me that he was on fire already and willing to give even more.
Heath is amazing in this clip. Such a superb voice he's adopted there. Heath died after the film's location shoot wrapped, and before the first studio session began - so we'll see him "out and about", but nothing more. There'll be plenty of Heath in the movie...the question is, how well will Gilliam be able to transition his role into the trio of actors completing Ledger's part? I imagine some CG magic will be employed to create bridging footage ala Oliver Reed in Gladiator. Trippy movie...
In this 59 second clip, his acting is wonderful. Imagine if he had been able to do the whole thing? It would have been a work of art. I can't wait to see it.
Heath is in a good portion of the movie, and appears throughout the entire film. I saw the film and it's fantastic, and the transitions between Heath and Farrell, Law and Depp are seamless, and make sense within the context of the movie.
what the song heath is playing whit the flout i use 2 play it when i was in the 9th grade if anyone can tell me it would be great, cant wait 2 see this movie rip heath
I can't wait for this movie! I have waited so long for the next big Terry Gilliam movie! Come on! It's Heath's last movie! And it's got Tom friggin Waits as the devil! Can't get any cooler, release this movie now!!!

Yes, the movie is fantastic! The transitions between the "Tony's" are seamless,
but I wish with all my heart it would not have been necessary to change the actors - and Heath would be alive.

I think they made the right choice in picking Depp. If you listen to the video without watching it -they ( Depp & Ledger)
sound very much alike.
I have read that it may not be released in America.
kwel189 2 years ago 2
Not just Depp, however. Jude Law and Colin Farrell will also be stepping in to play Tony in the fantasy sequences.

Great clip but I can't get enough of that opening zoom-out. Classic Gilliam, full of magic and humor. I cannot wait to see this film.

Yep.
PS
I believe it's a camera move, not a zoom-out. ;)
