  • great movie. Seen it a few times and I would watch it again.

  • Comment removed

  • This is true horror not that Paranormal activity garbage

  • @slydon

Did you know that this movie inspired Konami to make the Silent Hill game, they also adding references to the film in the Silent Hill games too, like in Silent hill 3

  • I've not watched this film, I was thinking about watching it, so I decided to watch this trailer.

Then at the end it says 'Your Dead!'

Which has spoilt the plot for me, not going to bother watching it now. :-(

  • @Barkermush

    a) that clip was used in the original trailer

    b) it's nowhere near the end of the movie

    c) not really a spoiler

    d) dude, this movie is 20 years old. That's like saying, "don't spoil titanic.. it sinks at the end" ;)

  • @slydon Darth Vader is luke skywalker's dad.

  • @Barkermush that's what i thought at first when i saw the trailer. thought he was tripping out cuz he was dead which isnt the case

  • @Barkermush that comment spoiled it Dx

  • @Barkermush tyvm..

  • @Barkermush It doesnt really spoil it. Its a great, great movie. I definitely think you should watch it. It wont be a waste of time. Its very unique and unsettling.

  • james owen sullivan favorite movie

  • @khairowensullivan foREVer!!!!!

  • Jacobs ladder - Angelheart - The jacket - agonizingly underrated movies that Hollywood seems almost embarrassed by

For every thousand steaming turds the US industry plops onto the screen (SAW ?? etc) they accidentally allow a couple of gems like these to creep into the light

If you've not seen these ........you should unfortunately most newer films will seem bloody awful, simpleton fodder after these

  • Dude, not seen this but u better hope seeing tht guy blow up did'nt ruin this film!

  • Always loved this film Jacobs, tortured visions of good and evil , as he fights for his life on a M.A.S.H. operating, are truley scarey , but seeing his son again offering a guiding hand into eternal light allows him to finally let go and die peacefully is true genius. Tim Robbins and rest of the cast are terrific , as is the sound track , direction etc..etc...etc

  • whats the song at 1:57 if anyone knows

    thankss

  • @ILoveFolkMusic furious angels- rob dougan

  • @xgirlx405 thankkk youuu

  • A movie so ahead of its time!!

  • @bennythelazy2 furious angels- rob dougan

  • @musicfan1ize only reason i watched it ! lol

  • Can anyone tell me if this movie is REALLY good? Like I'm not sure from watching the trailer

  • @Deathlock257 yup, it's good.

  • @SlyNicolai He is an asshole

  • Class film. The shaking heads always freaked me out. I've done a video called 'Writhe' on my channel - it a shaking and good music! Have a wee look if you have time...

  • what is the thing at 0:50?? ughh

  • American cinemas finest hour ......and not a 6ft anorexic smurf in sight .....brilliant

  • look up the music video for a song called nightmare if you like this movie

  • AT THE END HE IS DEAD :D

  • @6619971 Spoiler faggot.

  • 'Dream on!'

  • @2333hugo that moment freaked me out more than any of the visceral horror that movie threw at me.

  • @2333hugo Yeah

  • Was my hero "Jimmy The Rev Sullivan's" Favorite film so i thought i'd give it a watch.

  • @A7XSynysterJenno Dude, that's the exact reason I'm here. Nightmare music video.

  • Silent hll music?

  • @SeeYouEnTea666 that`s just a part of the puzzle the real storie behind all this is... manchurian candidate. super soldiers.

  • What year was this movie made in?

  • This movie is gooood. Depressing, but good. Saw this years a go and I never forgot about it, the scene with the demon in the train and the ending imprinted in my memory. Rewatched it lately, great movie.

  • love this film so much

  • the guy in the bath looks like tom hanks.

  • @funkymonkeybabywoot I hate you so much.

  • @funkymonkeybabywoot yeah,are you being serious?

  • @funkymonkeybabywoot NO, not at all.

  • lol

  • lol

  • @SlyNicolai They was the ones that was brainwashed, for they couldnot understand him .lol

  • same idea at haningway's 'kilimangaro's snows' and golding's 'pincher martin' last second and beyond

  • i think i could go different ways. my perosnal opinion was he died in vietnam and has been in purgatory the whole time.

  • I came here cuz this was The Rev's favorite movie and its what Avenged Sevenfold used to make their Nightmare music video (thats what they said in an interview) :D

  • @3LimbedHero cool, now fuckin leave. you have nothing to offer

  • In the beginning, you see the soldiers going mad in combat. What this flick is really about--is that the Global-Elite-run Feds have been doing drug experimentation on the US troops, since the 1950's,into the Sixties,as this movie does imply. The soldiers are all stoked up on LSD.The main character dies during the fire-fight,in the beginning;the rest of the movie is about him,in limbo "pergatory--" finally coming to realize--that he is really dead.A mindblowing flick; scarier than hell. Literally.

  • @SeeYouEnTea666 the "legal" ones will do it quicker

  • This movie gives a good sense of what it would be like to lose one's mind - and yet the story can be made sense of in so many ways.

  • @SeeYouEnTea666 thanks for the spoiler fuck rag

  • whats the music you used in the begining

  • lol you used silent hill music :D

  • there is a sound very sililart or equal fromsilent Hill 2 in Brook Heaven Hospital in the nightmare world

  • looks like a very good movie! but which song is playing from 1:27 to 2:51?

  • Every once in a very long while Hollywood accidentally allows a gem to creep out into the daylight and this is still one of the best movies ever made. I must have watched it dozens of times over the years and its still wonderful

depressing to think that Hollywood makes utter shite like Twighlight which will be a laughing stock when we look back in a few years time.....

  • @randombobtoo

haha, mate, Twilight already is a laughing stock ;)

  • @randombobtoo Twilight *

  • HOLY SHIT ITS SAL FROM DO THE RIGHT THING

  • @plyerv realy do tell sounds intresting

  • this movie and private school messed my mind up so much when i was a lil kid, wanted to fuck my third grade teacher so bad but never did, but in hi school haaa if anyone knows of california hi school ill tell ya

  • IS THIS BASED ON A TRUE STORY? THE END SAYS THE GOVERNMENT DENIES IT?

  • @bobbysmith000 Well the Government(s) always conducted experiments during WW1, WW2, Cold War etc. So this might not be a true story based on the results exactly, but things similar to this definitely occurred, maybe exactly the same, who knows, but it would never be revealed anyway. But it is sad, especially what happened to those in WW1. Traumatized, mental problems, trench feet, shell shock etc. War is never, ever, ever fun for anyone.

  • IS THIS BASED ON A TRUE STORY? THE END SAYS THE GOVERNMENT DENIES IT?

  • I want to watch this movie !

  • 1.50 that was me last night.

  • that will happe if you take ---3-quinuclidinyl benzilate

  • THis recut is better than the official trailer.

  • saaaaaaai

  • 0:40. Are you serious? :S

  • nope ;D

  • @slydon Yeah thank you so very much for the 0:40 part, I had my volume on hiiigh :(

  • they probably put BZ in the angry whopper

  • this movie looks good!!!!

  • Here's a strange story: A saw this when I was 2 or 3 becuz my parents were watching it; and now nearly 13 years later I still remember the line "According to this, you're already dead." And it helped me track down the name of the film...

  • wow..is it old?? like what year produced?

  • this is a 1990 movie

  • @InglouriousBasterds The same thing happened to me! Although I found this trailer pretty randomly, but I think I remember some of the scenes, while watching this some of them I was like "Dammit I think I've seen this already" and it's a deja vu ish feeling lol it's pretty cool :D

If I ever saw this film, it must've been more than 10 years ago for sure

  • Oh good choice of clips and music by the way. A lot of people are still surprised to know that Jacob's Ladder was a huge influence on the creation of the Silent Hill series.

  • It's open to interpretation but actually pretty clear in my opinion. Jacob died in Vietnam, killed by his fellow soldiers as a result of the drug. He struggled in death, not wanting to let go because he had unfinished business on earth: The death of his beloved son. Once he made peace, accepted the loss of his son, his soul was ready to ascend to heaven and be free of the demons who were struggling to keep his soul.

Look at the last 10 minutes- the doorman, the "gates to heaven". Freaky movie.

  • The whole thing is about him dying..the demons are all his memories and him holding on to life, just like the line in the film *If you're scared of dying and you're holding on you'll see demons tearing your life away, but if you've made your peace the demons are really angels freeing you from the earth*..it's about letting go.

  • the most confusing horror movie i know...like cube or something...

  • He died in Vietnam, at the beginning of the movie. Not confusing if you understand that.

  • he could have been just injured.

i mean the switching between his dead family and his new girlfriend and between dream and reality like the hospital scene...

  • It was a drug called BZ

  • man, hes so baked.

  • the demons are really angels freeing you from the earth.

  • wt is dis

  • what is it about if you know send me a message please.

  • It's about a soldier who becomes mentally unwell, suffering from bizarre hallucinations after coming home from Vietnam, as a result of exposure to a chemical experiment on US soldiers in Vietnam.Great psychological thriller, I watched it about 10 years ago and still remember it well. One of my favorites of all times.

  • Good job but I think it gives too much away. Still a good edit.

  • very good trailer. silent hill music is a master piece and goes great to this

  • This actually inspired the SH franchise.

  • Really? That's interesting. Where'd you find that out? An interview? If so, please tell me if and where I can find it online.

  • look up "silent hill jacob ladder" on google. It's the first choice, second page of the article.

  • Hab mirn gestern angeguckt so ne kranke scheiße ey^^

  • Silent hill music FTW

  • this is actually a good movie i just watched it

  • Great movie, freaky as hell.

  • i dont get it

  • what's the name of the song?

  • Rob Dougan - Furious Angels

  • The guy in the begining that says "they have been following me" Is he the same dude that plays the priest in the movie Constantine?

  • YES THAT WOULD BE HE.

  • Lol looks a good film but ...Whyy do they call it Jacobs Ladder :S ? I really dont get the name of it...Please message me on my channel

  • It's from the Bible.

  • This movie and "In the mouth of madness" are two of my most favorite horror films of all time.

  • Saw it 10 years ago. And I still didn't forget this one. Never did LSD but this should be what it feels like. Total wakko.

    GREET FILM

  • greAt

    :-)

  • In the mouth of madness that's a big waste of time . Really crappy movie. This has nothing to do with that crappy type of horror.

  • I know, but I still like that movie, but this movie is superior.

  • maybe you just didn't grasp what it was really about? there's so many metaphors in the movie, hey are hard to catch if you don't pay attention.

  • what is it about?

  • its a true story .... someone told me about it in Germany in 72

  • lol

  • it's rob dougan - furious angels

  • What's the song playing while the credits in the end roll? Is it from Silent Hill? :0 I like it hahah

  • I believe it's Red Pyramids from silent Hill 2.

  • Thanks! :)

  • the mechanical beat is in "betrayal" and the start of "black fairy" both by akira yamaoka found on the silent hill 2 ost

  • this was one of the scariest movies i ever saw.very disturbing.

  • I had read somehwere (maybe wikipedia?) that it's ispiration for silenthill games.

  • thats right :)

  • Death must be a crazy experience. I know I have to die one day but I don't ever think about it. When it happens it must be nuts!

  • yes IAMBELOVEDIAM, yes, death will be the most ultimate experience in your life. You can take all the drugs in the world if you want. But they are all just a portion of what you feel on that 1 moment. If we all think more positive about death, we could even enjoy it when you feel the time has come. Cause when we're death, we go to a wanderfull place. And we will never know pain.

  • wOnderful

    wonderful

  • but it will perhaps be boring

  • OMG! the music is the same as Silent Hill games!

  • Yes, I used some music from SH2 for the video.

  • @slydon What is name of the song??

  • Some of the scary seens in this film inspired the silent hill makers. If you watch it you will see what I mean.

  • he s not dead the whole time.

  • Okay, "Mr Technical" he is in the process of it! He has ceased to be! He is an ex-person! Maybe not the WHOLE time but most of it. Especially the end.

  • why would u just give it away.. sigh

  • There those that call me Duke. There are those that call me Sinister. But there are some that call me The Dark Spoiler. (In teh DC forums)There are some that also call me...Tim.

  • wats it about?

  • Nice... a SH homage.

  • actually SH is a homage to this.

  • This film inspired the creators of SH to make it

  • what are the names of the scariest movies you've ever seen?

  • one night in paris

  • xD any others?

  • Event Horizon

  • st. francisville experiment

  • The Cat In The Hat

  • i agree*shudders in fear*

  • the shining(1980) and the ring.

  • thank you

  • Eraserhead. Dont let the name fool you. Thats some disturbing stuff foo'!

That and Rabbits. Or most of Lynch's early work.

  • Yes, Eraserhead is pretty disturbing. Lynch is genius, all of his works and short stories are masterpieces for me! Got to see Rabbit, though.
