I know Angela was the main star of this series but she is also responsible for this series coming to an end, without going for the second season.

I liked Jared better, I thought his sultry good lookes contributed greatly to this series even though it was Angela who won a Golden Globe award, for this series. I was disppointed as I would have liked him to win an award as well. His acting too, was good.

@sahajad Daines was not the only reason. it got cancelled also because there were low ratings this due to bad promotion,. being the only show at the time for young teen girls it was getting complaints of having too mature content for the viewers it was meant for. It is one of those shows that was such a mistake to cancel, like star trek, got way popular and understood after it was too late and already got taken off. Now a days this is nothing for kids that age to watch. miss it bought the series

It's funny how many people are saying they were just like Angela, I was too and I'm black. I guess that's was why the show was so popular because Angela was like most teenaged girls regardless of race,location. They really got the feel for the 90's. The really just got a feel for a typical American High School.

A Classic. Shame it's got so few hits. Almost every teen in the 90s watched it@some point. Most girls loved Jared Leto regardless of race ;-). 1 of the few truly universal US teen shows. It 'got' its audience, empathised with us instead of trying to sell a lifestyle. The writers were so perceptive about teen idiosyncrasies e.g how friendships form and evolve, insecurities etc. It's such a shame, often the best shows don't survive. Very few have been up to par since. C.Danes is underrated too.
