there are moments you remember for a while then there are moments you remember for a life time...and i can say that this game will ALWAYS be imprinted on my mind. <3 i love my tigers and this year is going to be AMAZING GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!
i wish i had a chance to go to that game. i live for clemson football. and going to gameday and then that clemson game woulda been amazing. but i did get to see spiller juke out both senior safeties on tv
The Clemson Miami game in 05 was definately the loudest, yea i know Boston College game was loud but it was also at night so that already adds at least 7 dbs, the CU vs. the U game was 100 damn degrees and death valley was still rockin
Idk. I was at the 06 GT game and the 07 BC game. Ive never heard anything louder in my life. But Ive got to take your word. After that sack in the last two minutes of the Miami game...no telling how loud it got.
I just graduated from Clemson and attended the '05 Miami, '06 GT and '07 BC game. Without a doubt the Miami game was the loudest. Their fans were at the bars on Friday night talking trash, which fed a giant fire. It was a 3:30 game so all the fans were hammered but not tired (like what happens at some 8pm games). It was basically a perfect storm and I've never been to a louder place in my life.
Oh really? I have never been to a clemson usc game but I bet the atmosphere's are amazing. But the thing about Clemson is, there are a lot of older people at the game's and they dont get as pumped as us young folks do.
No. I said " a lot of older people", not everyone that goes is old. and there are a lot of older people that go to Clemson games. Theres nothing wrong with it, they just dont yell and jump around like younger people do. You know if you filled death valley with 80,000 college kids. The hill would explode.
There are old folks at every college game; that's where the money is coming from. haha. And I don't know now... those old folks at Clemson get pretty fired up! That's coming from those old military and Ag days!
"I remember being sick before the game because there were 80,000 people dressed in orange. I even threw up before the game. It's the only time I've ever done that."
--Dave Brown, Former Duke Quarterback
"Florida was loud in the Swamp. But, the loudest, not only the stadium, but the loudest place I have ever been around in my life was definitely Death Valley."
i was at gameday and it was Clemson's first ever gameday. I was standing right next to my brother and he was yelling something at the top of his lungs and i couldnt hear him and i couldnt hear lee or kirk especially when lee put on "The Tiger"'s head
"You can't expect to do things you normally do. Most of the time, you can't even hear the guy next to you." - Former Tennessee Quarterback Peyton Manning
Okay and I live in SC, I have a friend who is a Clemson fan and says its loud, but only at nights. Nothings as loud as Florida Field. You don't know college football if you don't know The Swamp is the loudest. Ha, Clemon isn't even in the top 10 loudest stadiums, (not talkin about the video game)
"Florida was loud in the Swamp. But, the loudest, not only the stadium, but the loudest place I have ever been around in my life was definitely Death Valley."
Have u ever been to a clemson game dumbass?! How can u say there not in the top 10 loudest stadiums.I went to a Florida State-Florida game in 2004 at The Swamp and I went to the BC-Clemson game last year at Death Valley. And DEATH VALLEY was way louder.I couldn't even talk to my brother sitting directly beside me.The Swamp is a loud stadium and the atmosphere is great but it didn't even come close to being as loud as Clemson's DEATH VALLEY. Oh, i'm a carolina gamecock fan too.
ohh well then I guess I should tell u that ur stadium is quiet as shit. I went to the USC florida game and the carolina fans had no spirit at all, even when we were tailgating. and im sorry, clemson's stadium wouldnt kno loud if it kicked them in the ass
LSU may be second, but Clemson is the loudest! Clemson has the real Death Valley! You must have gone to some sorry games at Clemson, cause if you went to a big one then you would know why IT IS the loudest crowd/stadium in college football! GO CLEMSON!!!!!!! CLEMSON- THE REAL Death Valley!!!! GO TIGERS!!!!
lol. I've been to plenty of Clemson games to watch the Tigers lose. If that's loud then Tommy Bowden is a woman. Go to LSU and listen to the REAL Death Valley. That is what you call loud.
Clemson University holds the loudest noise record breaking the newly set record at Oregon. Clemson's Death Valley made an extrordinary 132.8 db's during the 2007 Boston College game. This surpassed LSU's earthquake set years prior.
at the clemson bc game this year, the meter read 137 at the highest i saw it, i was in the vip box and i couldnt hear shit, it was extremely loud and the box was sssshhhaaakkkiiinnnggggggggg.
To quote former Florida State quarterback Chris Rix, "Florida was loud in the Swamp. But the loudest, not only stadium, but the loudest place I have been around in my life was definitely Death Valley. I was yelling at the top of my lungs in that first series, and I couldn't even hear what I was saying."
decibels shemscibles, that is clearly flawed, there is no place on earth louder than death valley.... the real one.... in baton rouge, la. i'm not even an lsu fan. it is the only time i've been anywhere so loud that my rib cage rattles.
Trust me...its not. I was at the Swamp when Florida played LSU the year they shared the National Championship. Great game and great atmosphere but it couldn't quite match up. If the swamp couldn't top Clemson's decibel meter then, they never will.
@GGGRRR The Swamp can't even compare, and I've been to at least 15 games there (and 6 at Clemson). Not taking anything away from the Swamp, but as far as sheer noise goes nowhere compares to Clemson.
No, that meter was flawed. The game only got up to about 111 or so, which is still pretty loud. The GT game last year was louder. Oregon now holds the record at 127 I believe, but Clemson is a close second, and is probably consistently louder. Then again, I would bet a night game at Baton Rouge is consistently louder than Death Valley, SC. The fact remains, Clemson: 126 dB; LSU: 119. Very impressive.
@smokythejet No one has ever even been close to 140, and certainly not Tennessee (the quietest of the 100000K+ stadiums). Decibels are measured logarithmically, not linearly, meaning that 140 decibels is ten times as loud as 130. Not only that, but 140 is the threshold for sustaining severe hearing damage.
As far as I know, Clemson holds the outdoor record with 126 db (Washington's 132 occurred in the 90s when they were playing at the Kingdome).
I love the bickering and arguing. Here's a refreshing comment - I contributed to the 117dB in the above video. We know how to get loud.
