I am RC'ing a King George V right now: which is practically identical to Prince of Whales. Although they didn't add gear boxes or mountings, they did leave the rear part of the hull open for modifications incase you wanted to RC the ship. Unless you can get a gearbox I strongly recommend using two 3 volt motors wired to a 6 volt battery to turn the two screws you saw in the video. You can get the parts you need on the cheap from a $20-$25 USD RC Toy Truck and it will do the job.
Hey, are these tamiya kits difficult to make? Does the kit come with everything necessary? If not, where could I get a kit that comes with everything necessary?
From what I know, Tamiya has stopped producing the battery-operated kind. You can only get the static model. What I did for Tamiya's 1/350 Yamato is to strip the plastic fencing inside, get the RC equipment (you can get it from your local hobby RC shop), mount the motor and brass prop shafts, and it's ready! Btw I managed to attach a RC light to the searchlight deck, works for me (I boat at around 10pm on weekends). If you need help you can pm me...or request for my msn acc. =)
Hi, I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. I've created a clip of a WW2 battleship trading card set. It is rumoured that Hitler purchased this set for his U-boat personnel.
