if you guys wanna do self highlights it would be cheaper if you go to sallys and get a small bleach package with 30 developer and get the highlighting cap. For retouch only do the new growth if you keep adding bleach to the rest of your hair its going to turn white and damage your hair.

@Jaimeeword I highly recommend you do NOT do that; The color will go from light brown to orange, and the hair will be a lot more damaged. It's much better to do it gradually, using a highlight kit as often as once a week until you're fully blonde.

That looks pretty good for a store bought dye. I'm surprised it hasnt gone orange, since its a medium blonde highlight. Normally you have to go platinum to make sure it doesnt go orange and then dye it darker blonde afterwards. Thats what Im having to do with my hair. Im blonde and I dyed my hair brown and now to go back to blonde, I have to get platinum foils and then dye them a medium blonde.

@l90jasmine use oopss hair color remover and your black hair will turn like brown or i u had a ligh hair before will turn that color, and after u use oops hair color remover the red box , u can use the frost and glow highlights, thats what i did and also the remover doesnt damage ur hair because is amonia and bleach free. hope tghis help..!!!

cap is mainly used for short hair. I still prefer foil and dont use the cap method as you get better results with foils but you wont be able to do it alone.

i'm a hairdresser and if your hair is below a base 5 which is dark brown going blonde is a process where you would do it in two stages, go brown then blonde and then do your highlights to add tone. hope that helps, you wont be able to go straight from black to blonde in one go. id give you quanityt and volume but i'm in the UK

I stripped mine 3 times and the black still wouldnt budge so I had to go to a professional and they stripped it and they high lighted it. my suggestion with black hair is to go to a professional let them do it and then get a protein/deep conditioner done after the color

@sayhello38 lol ok i get what your saying now, it is kinda hard but i have long hair and i did fine with it it just hurts a lito more, your right the cap ismostly for short hair , its faster and cheaper and the foil is more expensive but you can get the hilights exacly the size you want them and it wont stress your hair because theirs no pulling.hope this helps and answers your question =)

I have 1 Mention . Of the 2 the one for darker hair always gives the best results I just leave it on lighter hair for less time. The kit for lighter does not produce as good a platinum streak result. I also have a warning Never rub the product on the cap you get spots where you do not want them if product seeps through punched holes. =/ Also you look great as a soldier LOL I tie the tie at the chin front to avoid feeling the choke hold. =)
