  • this thing is cool, but can it fly 3D?

  • So the Xheli website recommends 800 mAh for this heli ... will it handle 1300 mAh batteries, or are they gonna be too large/heavy? I ask because I just bought some Blue Lipo 2S 1300's for an ornithopter, but the ESC shorted out, so now I have three batteries sitting around with no aircraft to go into ...

  • i miss my falcon. i was flying it in the dark for the fun of it and it hit a tree becuase the wind picked up.

  • I have a syma 9093 2005 , terrible 2-channel and i need a beginner heli at least 4 channel

  • well crap, i have the older model and the landing gear is garbage and weak. That gear looks great! Looks like the rotor head is a little stronger too!

  • hey, would you recomend this as a first 4ch fixed? suggestions?

    awsome video btw!

    thanks (=

  • Sure wish I had found this six months ago. I just got this helo. Before this, I got a 3D chopper. Guess what kind of shape it's in right now?

  • @NightFlyyer i need help my exceed falcon 40 goes to the side every time i try to fly it i tried trimin it but it will go to the side...do you know whats wrong with it ???? reply as soon as possible

  • @zamaelbaf i have the same problem

  • I have watched this video 36,577 times and I still think it one of the most correct helicopter informational videos i have ever seen.Look how nice a $99.00 helicopter can fly. If you can not fly this, forget the CP's.

  • ca some one post a video on how to put in a brushless motor please it would be very helpfull

  • for everyone who wants to know this is NOT a good 3D helicopter + if it whas you would need a new remote controller with pitch switches on it at the tops for most 3D stunts.. Tough this looks like a good training helicopter.. nice flying Dave!

  • I like this heli slot but can't decide so I want this one or the e sky honey bee v2 can you help me I'm leaning twards this one more

  • im a beginner to flying period. i was looking for a inexpensive way to lean and fly heli's. your videos make that possible your breakdown is way more understanding and easier to grasp for begginers ill look foward to more classes.

  • how come your the only one who reviewed this heli. i could nt find anyother review in forums or youtube.

  • i just got a used old school falcon 40 and bought a new battery. it spins really really bad....i cant even take off.... i tried adjusting the trim but it doesnt help...what could be the problem?

  • @moron32

I just got the V2. No corrections I make can stop the spinning. I tried adjusting the extent, adding full right rudder, and adjusting full right trim. Nothing helps!!!!!

  • @JarvisJesseT I figured mine out, the tail motor was bad. So, without the tail motor the heli will just spin endlessly, cost me $8 bucks to fix :) THen i crashed it, now i'm trying to sell it lol, i've moved on to rc airplanes instead, the dynam hawk sky is an awesome plane! :)

  • any day now i should be getting it in the mail... O.O

  • dave i just bought the same heli and i dont know how to do the blade tracking, when i turn it on the blade is moving all over the place, so i dont know why it does that and i need help setting up the built in gyro slash 3 in 1 mixer. im not sure if thats the reason, i would really aprieciate the help dave

  • @killa1mantis you can email me at killa1mantis @yahoo.com

  • how do you control the helicopter with the wind i have the double blade helicopter which does not have a tail rotor and just a little wind can effect my flying skills.

  • Hi Sir Dave.. Im a bloody fan of heli's.. i have my 2 channel heli and Im try to upgrade it that looks like that heli but i have a big prob with that coz it spins.. why that heli doesn't spin? please mail me please.. mesmerizeheart@yahoo.com

  • Hi Sir Save.. Im just wondering why the heli doesn't spin? even if the tail rotor is not spining..

  • honey bee v2 or falcon 40?

  • dear nightflyyer where did u buy the falcon 40

  • good pilot

  • wow very nice

  • im pretty good at flying the blade msr, do u think i can handle this one? this looks very stable

  • how long is the battery?

  • Does this helicopter need the tail fin cuz mines is chiped and i wanna know if it effects it's performance. Plus mines looks slanted to the right like its heavier on one side when i take off. Is there any way to fix that?

  • How come your main rotar blades stick out straigh at any angle, mine flop around when its tilted just a little. When you put it down on the grounf @ 1:50 and the blades stay outward, mine do not. You make it look so easy.

  • Hey Dave - great video, I plan on purchasing this heli next week thanks to your cool video.

  • moves the tail from side to side very slightly but not "hunting" maybe its the gyro is correcting the position, but i am afraid if the tail motor fails, i've flown the falcon 40 like 20 or 30 times without any crash or problems... please some help here and recommendations please

  • Hi dave, great helicopter you just reviewed, i have the v1 but i dont know if the tail motor is fine, i cant get spares because i live on a country that is very hard to get spares and even if i get them i dont know how to install the tail motor, sometimes my falcon 40 v1

  • Just a Quick Question, are going to review the Blade SR any time soon?? Your videos are a great tool

  • ive got a helicopter and a simulator. i can fly great on the simulator but when i try it on the real helicopter i cant fly it i can hover well but i cant fly it got any tips.

  • nightflyyer just gives you his take on the heli.up to you to do your homework am still looking and i think my best is the e-flight Blade SR look it up my be what you all are looking for

  • I bought this heli a few weeks ago and this is NOT a good heli! It is way too finicky to learn on (even if you have experience on a co-axial). As others have said. Don't waste your money on a fixed ptiched heli like this one get a good 6-channel instead. NightFlyyer, are you associated with XHeli? Just wondering. You always review all of their helis? Or do you just have too much money so that you have to buy every heli which is out on the market?

  • @MrFunhouse100 man this heli is the best begginner toy.. u just have to learn some simulated flying so you will get familiar with the controls coz its way different from a co axial rotor... trust me once you get use of the control u will enjoy the heli

  • i just got mine and i noticed that the main rotor blades are loosen, and i watch this one and ur main rotor blades isn't moving the way mine is loose.. did u tighten it up, i know if the rotor blades are loosen like that it adds stability to the blades.. is this true?

  • I just got mine too and the blades are like droopy rabbit ears. How do you tighten them up to get them level so they don't smash into the canopy or tail bar?

  • @FallStallion duder u got the philips screw and tighten them.... buit i would advice you its best not to tighten it much just keep it a bit lose so if you crash it wont break as much

  • no it will not do 3d

  • the one thing that i don't really like about this one is how much it wobbles during takeoff

  • I have been flying rc helicopters for just about 3 years now and just getting into the fixed pitch ones. I will tell you it is no cake walk. I have bought 2 msr blades and they are a great little heli. I just bought the falcon 40 and went to fly it I am so far very satified with the falcon 40 with the tail holding. I have had heli's in the past were the tail moto I do beleive that e-flight heli's are top of the line in quality .

  • you havent been flying rc helis for three years if you just got into fixed pitch. 3 channel is a toy not an rc aheli and so is coax. My first rc heli was a 4 channel honeybee fp which afterwards i moved on to a six channe l trex 450. In total ive been flying for less than a year and im already doing 3d. Indeed it is no cakewalk, but there is NO REASON to buy 4 fixed pitch helis. Its a waste of money when you could be saving for a six channel.

  • @nightflyer

can you explain to me what is the gyro for?

  • A gyro is commenly used for added stability or for measurement (conservation of angular momentum.). It's used in ships, tanks and more and as you know in rc heli's :)

It has also been used for navigation purposes in rockets. Like the WW2 german V2 rocket.

  • so its just like a BRAIN? coz its control the stabilitiy?

  • I suppose it could be called that in a way.

If you search for "Active Gyroscopic Roll Stabiliser" here on youtube, you will find a video that shows what it does.

  • wow, as much a trainer heli that is, its flies beautifully, real sweet, and for under a hundred tahts as good as it gets. un certainly buying one of these looks absolutely great!

  • i think u are the best person to demo this around how many rc do u get to demo a year and are u able to sell any thanks

  • what a sleazy smile you lucky duck

  • i just got my falcon 40 v2 today in the mail..love your videos...thanks so much

  • How do you trim the heli?

  • on the bottom and the side of the sticks is a switch like lever and you put it to the middle and once you get about 3ft. off the ground ajuast them

  • Hey, i have a mcx. Should I get the msr or a falcon 40?

    BTW

    Great Vid

  • @rcflyboynj the MSR is much smaller. I think in general you buy the MSR for mostly the "best" truly indoor micro helicopter.

Where as this looks like something you'd only use outdoors. That said, I'd really like NightFlyyer to review a MSR, and see what he thinks.

I have just recently started looking for a more serious micro heli, and everywhere I check tends to point me back to a MSR

  • I have both. The Msr is much more agile and responsive, and of course great for flying indoors. It is also able to withstand crashes and wind more then the the Falcon. The reason why it can take more wind is becasue of its agility. Both helicopters are great. The Falcon is only for flying outdoors in my opinion.

  • hmm, this is cheaper than MSR, but i guess it depends if you wanna fly indoors or out.

  • Excelent video, I really like,

    saludos de Costa Rica.

  • haha i remember having a honeybee fp v2, and i wud try fly it, and my friend would come outside to watch me right, and when i even got it to a stable hover for a second, without it flying away i wud go like to my friend: DUDE DUDE!!! I GOT IT! then it would just fall or fly away so i wud slowly cut the throttle. ahh then it broke, so i turned it into a car..

  • that happens to me alot

  • Nice review as always Dave! 5/5

  • AGAIN, excelent video and tips.

    saludos desde México.

  • Smooth flying Dave!

  • hey dave i have this same heli i love it alot good vids i watch them all the time!!!

  • I have the same question as the previous comment, how would you compare this heli to the Esky Honeybee FP v2 as a first single rotor heli? Which would you recommend? Thanks.

  • As always, Dave, GREAT advice. I REALLY like this one too. Would you recommend it over the Honeybee as a first "real" heli for me? Thanks.

  • Yo quiero uno de esos, y a $100 dolares waoo aqui en Costa Rica Si en U.S.A. cuesta 100 aqui cuesta $500 aqui estafan los precios.. Buen video gracias.

  • Have a question, would you recommend this over a Honeybee MK3 FP?

  • This looks really temping, Dave, but I'm wondering how this compares to the ESky Honey Bee CP2. I have that one and CAN'T fly the bugger! I found that I couldn't keep up with the yaw, and I'd just lose it. The thing has been on the shelf for 10 months. I have no problem flying my EFlite Blade mSR, inside or outdoors...Guess it's because that has heading hold gyro. So... Which does the Exceed Falcon 40 fly more like, the Honey Bee or the mSR? Does it have heading hold gyro?

  • You should never start with a CP (Collective Pitch)

    Helicopter.

What you should have tried first, was the Honey Bee Fixed pitch, which is the same thing as this Falcon 40.

I personally like the new Honey Bee fixed pitch v3, and you can buy it for under $100.

Not to mention that they can take some serious crashes, like flying into street signs he he, and break absolutely nothing.

Once you learn how to fly this thing on instinct, then you are ready for a Collective pitch Helicopter.

  • great review flight i been hoping for a review on this one looks like it would be perfect for me to get going on.

  • Great video Dave,

I will consider this as my first pitch heli, I'm good with the mcx, and was considering the msr, but for the price I beleive this is a better choice.

  • very nice review Dave! But you scared me there looking into the blades without eye protection. You never know when even just a little ball link will break of and then your blind. i'm a little paranoid but safety first please. lol

  • great video...im enjoying my MSR nose bombing it and ripping it..my B400 is ok..i love flying it..but i dont want to dump anymore $ to it..im getting a sport 450.. =)

yeah im getting addicted to this heli hobby.. my revo 3.3 runs like 1/2 a month now..

  • nice video. that heli looks really nice, how much did it exactly cost and where did you get it. anyway nice video all in all, as usual.

  • fixed pitch or not i like the way it flyes,it looks smooth and stable .the expert at the sticks helps

    nice one dave.{*_"}

  • Thats a nice little mover Dave, I love logging into YT to see if there is any new video's you've made!

Oh, BTW, would you please put a link into Jeff's channel in the more info on the videos you make? Cheer's and keep up the amazing work.

  • Thanks kindly. Ill put a link there right now.

  • very well done dave you have my very up most respect for your time and effort you put into your vidoes :)

  • Thanks kindly.

  • I'm sorry but I totally disagree with you Dave.

Flying a RC helicopter is quite challenging. Not like an airplane which flies just one direction.

First things first is safety. Checking the blade tracking like on video is completly wrong and unsafe.

  • alas, but did Dave actually say to you to track the way he does, Dave has other video's showing how to track blades with coloured Tape.

  • I know Dave and Jeff are very experienced pilots. I'm sure they know what I am talking about.

Tracking blades with coloured tapes is not the point. The point is holding the heli while it's running and looking at the rotating blades very close to his eyes/face.

I am warning novice users not to grab heli while its spooled up and checking the tracking that closeley.

    Otherwise great video as always.

    Regards.

  • Everything is unsafe. Smoking is unsafe, driving is unsafe, I'm a roofer...being on a roof is unsafe. Sure, running a helicopter while you are holding on to it may be unsafe, but if we all did things safe, we'd all live in a bubble. Just relax and enjoy the video. Thanks

    ~Jeff

  • Tell me about it. I had a nice close call late last night in KY involving a deer and two semis in front of me. Had to check my drawers after that one!

  • I agree. I spool up my beastly HBK3 in my hand and check the blade tracking in 3d mode. Just hold the heli above ur head until its up to speed then odds are u will be fine. This fixed pitch heli looks like a bargain.

  • According to my 22 years of RC heli and a little bit airplane experince the learning curve should like that.

1- Simulation on computer and RC co-axial heli flying.

2- Trying and training collective pitch (CP - 3D) heli on simulator program.

3- Buying CP heli (as big as you can afford) + Sim training. Electric or nitro is up to you....

    Thanks.

  • Looks very nice!

My lama is just pathetic, But If I try to fly heli's then my plane skills go rusty

  • I also have problems going from heli to plane and vice versa.

  • hey had a similar heli the honey bee fp from esky could never get it outside though the wind just seemed to push it down into the ground

  • nice little bird, smooth enough and will give you many hours of fun, another good one Dave and Jeff !

  • cool video and good music :)

  • Hi ,sorry this unrelated to video but I have a micro camera which i'm putting on my fire bird phantom, just wondered if i could put it on top of the wing or it would make it too top-heavy.

    Thanks

  • just mount it as close to the cg as possible, above or below the wing. I prefer above to protect it from damage in a rough landing.

  • Hi Dave, another great review. I wonder if someday you could do a review on the Walkera Hybrid Metal CB180Q ? You are the best at this hobby and we appreciate your helping all of us newbies out here.

  • Thanks. If I get one, I will review it.

  • CAN U DO A REVIEW ON THE NOVUS CP

  • this is pwnage you rock dave

  • Hmm, I have a Belt CP v2 and the 4CH simulator, I will learn first with the simulator then practice with the heli.. is important to practice with one like this before the belt CP? thanks :)

  • in theory the cp v2 will be more stable and easier to control than one of these helis but than again nothing is better than real stick time flying real helis. its possible to go from the sim to the cp but you may go broke learning. the good thing about getting one of these or a honey bee to practice on is that if you crash it may not break and if it does its cheap and simple/easy to repair and get up and going again especially compared to the belt cp or any CP heli

  • I really like the way this one looks. I finally took your advice dave, and got an fp, two as a matter of fact. I got the msr and then the hb fpv2. i'm getting it. after a while i'll go back to try the honey bee king 2.

  • beginner heli?

  • will it do 3D?

    JOOOKKINGGGG

  • o yes of corse it will! up down, left right and anywhere in between LOL!

  • I think an even better falcon 40 for a little bit more money would be a falcon 40 BL. (Brushless)

  • LOL all u need is upgrade the motor

  • ETRMs cant handle the torque of bigger motors.

  • Bigger motors mean more torque. ETRMs cant keep up unless that motor and speed controls is changed too. This is just to learn on. It is cheaper to start with bigger helis, instead of trying to modify them.

  • Is the link on the side supposed to take you to the actual heli???

  • no :)

  • Nice review Dave, that does seem to be a pretty good heli, nice flying as always!.........5*****...........Bob

  • I had a century hummingbird but it was rather rubbish with NiMh, might get one of these to mess around, i have a spare tail rotor and control links i could probably swap over.

  • LOL I just found out about the new Falcon earlier today.

  • what size helicopter is it?

  • So many people mistake a single rotor Fp helicopter as a beginner heli it's a shame:(

Sure they have less parts to repair but to many non-experienced beginners think these are pick up and fly:(

  • @safesinger - To be hinest it IS a beginner heli. Now I'm not sayin that it doesn't take skill to fly one or anything, but my friend who has never flone an rc heli learned completely on a hb fp. When I flew it I also had a blast any my own heli is an exi 450 cp. So fp's can be tons of fun, you can do cool stunts, besides 3D, but the fact of the matter is that they ARE beginner helis.

  • hey, i have been watching your videos for a while, and now i just thought about it, and i want to get into flying, so my 2 big questions, should i start with a helicopter or a plane? also if i do start with them, witch helicopter or plane should i get?

  • Thanks for posting these videos. I really enjoy them.

  • it's the esky honey bee fp clone...of course it flies well =D

  • isn the falcon good

  • Great review Dave and i could watch you fly heli's or any r/c bird come to that for hours ;-) you make it look so graceful and easy, but i suppose thats from years of practice and dedication = 5*

  • I appreciate your kind words. Every flight for me is practice, so that is the key. I usually learn something from each flight . Every flight is a test and every crash is a lesson. Best regards. Thank you.

  • Great advice. Nice flying!

  • Thanks kindly.

  • im new to helis and i was wodering what you think my first should be the only experience i have had is with the air hogs havoc heli and it broke 2 days after i got it so it doesnt work

  • Question, what do i do if the blade are NOT balanced?

  • Balance them then ;-) only joking mate but if you type in the search bar balance heli blades you will find quite a few good videos on how to do it right ;-)

  • I put a piece of electrical tape on one rotor blade and spin it. Start with about 1.5 inches. If it is worse, put the tape on the other blade and try again. It takes time, but you'll get it. Also mark the blade tip of 1 blade with white out or something so you know which is which. Good luck.

  • Nice!

    Looks like a fun heli.

    Thanks for the review.

    5 Stars ~ Eric

  • Thanks Eric. Thanks for the call today too. My phone Rang while I was videoing Jeff fly his Cessna and here it was you! I'm sure he will have that up soon and you'll hear the ring. Happy Flying.

  • oow too late! nice heli

  • you need to do more planes! : )

  • Haha. Check my videos. There are more planes than helicopters. Now that winter is setting in, planes will be difficult.

  • ya i know i have watched ALL of your your videos because i have that kind of time im just saying that cuz im a plane person and winter is the best time to fly (electric) because you crash into the snow not the ground : )

  • you should try converting it to brushless! That would be awsome. Nice flying too!

  • Problem with putting bigger motors on Fixed Pitch ETRM helicopters is they create more torque. Then the Tail rotor Motor cant keep up. This is designed for simply learning and easy flight with inexpensive balanced motors. I have other helicopters for the hot dogging, you know. Thanks for the kudos.

  • Looks like the Helimax Cp. Is it re branded walkera or just similar?

  • Never mind there different...

  • i love those falcon 40s reminds me of my hummingbird fp i love that thing i may get me a falcon 40 one of these day

  • I loved my Humming bird too. They fly similar for sure. Thanks.
