I am an American who read about the actions in the former Yugoslavia in the 90s and the actions in Kosovo. When Mladic was captured, people in America only cared about "Tot Mom" and American Idol. I had a neighbor who defended Mladic to a point, which is like defendind Hitler or Hirohito, (see Nanking).
There's nearly 7 Billion people on this plant, and we're all in this together. We're all human beings.
There are a lot of serbs b@tching on here about Kosovo being a part of Serbia. I think if it really was a part of your country you would have fought harder to keep it. When we rolled into town in '99 all i remember seeing were graves full of UNARMED people and burnt homes. You put up a good fight against the poorly armed UCK, but the heroic serb armed forces bravely turned tail and fled back across the borders when we arrived. If Kosovo was truly Serbia, that border wouldn't exist.

I'm from Kosovo an thanks for all the help of British Forces and U.S. forces even the Germans helped us. I'm glad we're independent now and i hope we see the generations of Kosovo and Europe do peace together!

Everybody has it's story but nobody knows the real one. The one story is true: Kosovo is Serbian from 7th century when South Slovens inhabited that area. That's why they are destroying our monasteries and churches because it's a proof that we were there before them.

Bottom line is Serbs loved it so much, that they managed to account for a whole 10% of the pre-war population and when Milosevic to relocate serbs from Croatia there, they refused to go .

Serbs destroyed hundreds of Catholic churches in Croatia from 1990 to 1995 and wel as mosques in both Bosnia and Kosovo. Thye set the blueprint for this type of behavior.
And itscounds like what the Ottoman Turks did to the Christian and Jewish houses of worship in the areas that they had taken over. This wasn't something new that was invented for this conflict.

I served for a year there from 2005-2006. I spent time in every sector and can tell you I saw as many Albanian graves as Serbian. I still can't get Kosovo out of my head and am in counseling now for PTSD. My counselor actually told me to check out this video, because I thought no one understood what I was going through emotionally. This made me cry. For me, the plight of ALL the children was the hardest. Thanks for writing this James.
I served in Kosovo from Nov 06 to Nov 07 with the US Army. I remember seeing a mass grave a little smaller than this one. I can't describe Kosovo. It semmed very erie at times. I guess its best just to do your mission and not think to much about it.

you've seen only one side of the medal, but what you probably don't know is that since NATO occupied the heart of Serbia, OUR Kosovo and Metohia (it's full name, btw) in '99., thousands of Serbs have been massacred, hundreds of ancient orthodox churches and monuments destroyed, and around 250 000 Serbs banished from their homeland! We were only fighting against the terrorist KLA (closely connected to Al-Kaida, btw) and unfortunately, like in all wars, there are always civilian victims...
His contributions in Kosova make me and all of my compatriot to enjoy freedom.

There are a lot of serbs b@tching on here about Kosovo being a part of Serbia. I think if it really was a part of your country you would have fought harder to keep it. When we rolled into town in '99 all i remember seeing were graves full of UNARMED people and burnt homes. You put up a good fight against the poorly armed UCK, but the heroic serb armed forces bravely turned tail and fled back across the borders when we arrived. If Kosovo was truly Serbia, that border wouldn't exist.

Everybody has it's story but nobody knows the real one. The one story is true: Kosovo is Serbian from 7th century when South Slovens inhabited that area. That's why they are destroying our monasteries and churches because it's a proof that we were there before them.

Serbs destroyed hundreds of Catholic churches in Croatia from 1990 to 1995 and wel as mosques in both Bosnia and Kosovo. Thye set the blueprint for this type of behavior.

Those Serb monasteries from the 13th Century are still in Kosovo, as are the synogogues in areas controlled by Ottoman Turks. The destruction of any churches did not occur until after the war, in retaliation to the destruction of mosques committed by Serb forces.Even Serbs readily admit this.

I served for a year there from 2005-2006. I spent time in every sector and can tell you I saw as many Albanian graves as Serbian. I still can't get Kosovo out of my head and am in counseling now for PTSD. My counselor actually told me to check out this video, because I thought no one understood what I was going through emotionally. This made me cry. For me, the plight of ALL the children was the hardest. Thanks for writing this James.

I served in Kosovo from Nov 06 to Nov 07 with the US Army. I remember seeing a mass grave a little smaller than this one. I can't describe Kosovo. It semmed very erie at times. I guess its best just to do your mission and not think to much about it.

you've seen only one side of the medal, but what you probably don't know is that since NATO occupied the heart of Serbia, OUR Kosovo and Metohia (it's full name, btw) in '99., thousands of Serbs have been massacred, hundreds of ancient orthodox churches and monuments destroyed, and around 250 000 Serbs banished from their homeland! We were only fighting against the terrorist KLA (closely connected to Al-Kaida, btw) and unfortunately, like in all wars, there are always civilian victims...
