  • She totally looks like Maureen O`Hara at 5:02!

  • Gorgeous picture at 3:17! She truly was a lovely lady!

  • Deborah Kerr was actually SCOTTISH - NOT ENGLISH BUT SCOTTISH!!! For some reason, the outsiders were always picked to play English Roses in Hollywood. Greer Garson was IRISH!! But both their beauties are preserved FOREVER on celluloid. Ask some English people to pronounce Deborah Kerr and they say ... Debwa Kaw!!! Debbo-rah Kerr is how to pronounce this SCOTTISH BEAUTY'S name. Oh, and Gwee Gawson!!

  • @squirell1952 Many of these tags and nick-names were dreamed up by the Hollywood publicity machine. Names like 'Sweater Girl' and 'Sarong Girl' were hated by the likes of Lana Turner and Dorothy Lamour. Greer Garson was actually born in Manor Park, Essex (now Greater London) in 1904 but spent much of her childhood at her grandfather's residence in Ireland.

  • This was lovely basil. The music, the beautiful photos. A wonderful tribute to a very lovely lady. At 2:29 what is this movie with her in the bathtub and Cary Grant looking down at her. Also, I love the picture at 6:01. Absolutely lovely and a little bit Audrey Hepburnish. Great stuff basil. I always look forward to your videos.

  • @SoCalGal52 Thank you and glad you enjoyed the video. At a guess the scene may be from 'Dream Wife' (1953)

  • @SoCalGal52 At 2:29 when shes in the bathtub, is from "The Grass is Greener" (1960) I think Deborah Kerr is great in that movie :)

  • One of the best actresses in the world!

  • kerr was always the same in each and every film she was in - even when she was old. but she made series of good films. lucky lady !

  • @shahidaly1 Ava Gardner said the same thing about Miss Kerr in her autobiography, in different words of course. I don't know, I was somewhat offended by what she said. Ava said something about how she was always the same. This was after making Night of the Iguana together. Can't remember exactly. But obviously, you both have a right to your opinion. I see her differently. In The Innocents, she was extremely different, and very convincing. I love her acting.

  • @SoCalGal52 my father loved kerr - she made series of excellent films unlike ava , who doesn't have one outstanding flick to her name! but i do feel ava was more beautiful than even liz taylor. pity she was so careless about her career. she even refused to be photographed when she looked her best in her in her 30s, semi-abandoned her career and sat in Spain. Kerr and Liz took their careers seriously, worked hard and have a real body of work-which endures, unlike a tabloid beauty queen, Ava

  • deborah kerr is so beautiful....thanks you...is a lovely tribute!!!

  • She should have got an Oscar for 'The Innocents' !

  • Deborah Kerr was always one of my favourites. All her films are memorable not least

the fading English beauty in Tenessee William's wonderful 'Night of The Iguana'.

    Fondly remberedX

  • Deborah Kerr is one of my ALL-TIME favorite actresses.

Many thanks for the L-O-V-E-L-Y video:D

  • Only color film could do her beauty and her beautiful red hair justice...

  • i would've licked her till the cows come home

  • u should more Deborah Kerr videos man

  • The music is "El dia que me quieras",originally song by Carlos Gardel, from Argentina, (my country), beautiful tribute!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Deborah Kerr did some splendid jobs in films with such great leading men as, for instance, Robert Taylor or Yul Brynner. Great actress

  • just watched an affair to remember ,she died in 2007

  • quo vadis?

  • when i had watched her in " the king and i ", i was only 13 years. at that time i had not seen such a beautiful ,above all, a remarcable elegant western woman ever. it gave me a shock greatly. and i thougt it must be said seconadary defeat for japan. than you for uploading.

  • missing such lovely classics today...times flyin ..but memories remain.

    Life is a tempest

    Nor a midsummer night's dream

It is but a comedy of errors

Take it, as you like it..

  • well it should be "scottish rose"!! ^^

  • You are of course correct. Hollywood regarded her as 'English' even though she was born in Edinburgh. They also regarded Greer Garson as 'Irish' although she was born in London.

  • Shes was actually born in Helensburgh on the West Coast of Scotland ( Clyde Estuary )

  • I love Deborah. Too bad I couldn't have been married to her.

  • I really like the way you arranged the photos-from pretty but awkward young girl to a sophisticated and beautiful woman. You could feel the love emanating from her!

  • It's a cliche, but they REALLY don't make 'em like her anymore! This is a lovely presentation that I'm sure she would have loved,

  • What a fabulous choice of photographs - some of the rare pictures of Deborah when she was young I've never seen before. All so lovely.

  • She was an angel in Broadway. Tea and Sympathy was one of her finest works. It is simply astonishing that she never won an Oscar for her competitive work. She will be remembered as a great talent and a blessing to the world.

  • *absurd that she never won an Oscar

  • My favorite actress by far... Thanks for a wonderful montage...

  • Wow!! I didnt realize those first two pictures were her!!

  • ALL A LADY

  • What a GREAT actress and WONDERFUL elegant lady...thank you:D

  • What a great actress! She was gracious and beautiful. As always, I love the music

  • Oh and I found the "Sunrise" song.....it's by James Last and Richard Clayderman.....

  • Great! Thanks for the help. It's really frustrating when you try to nail down missing information. I am planning another Greer Garson tribute in the future, so keep a look-out!

  • No problem......and that sounds great!!!

  • Wonderful video....does anyone know the music right after "Shall We Dance"....it's so pretty...thanks alot

  • Thank you. The music is titled 'Sunrise'. I captured this track from a website a long time ago. Unfortunately the piece is incomplete and the artist unknown, so if anyone knows it, please let me know. If you are also interested in Greer Garson, check out MOVIE LEGENDS - GREER GARSON. Hope you like it!

  • I have already seen it and I love it as well.....the music is so fitting and so pretty! Thanks alot!! :D

  • A very fitting tribute (so many portraits not known to me before) for the contributions of a performer that we regarded and still regard so highly. Congratulations.

  • A mostly wonderful tribute to a most lovely woman. What a classy beauty she was.

I loved her most in "An Affair to Remember" with Casanova himself, Cary Grant.

I also love the music you choose for this clip (b4 the KING & I). Wish I knew what it was.

    Thank You!

  • My favorite actress! Essence of elegance; a true lady. Thanks Basil.

  • beautiful video. I loved the music. You will certainly make a person happy if you could enlist them..any chance?

  • RIP Ms Kerr's Husband, Peter Viertel. He died on November 4, 2007, just 3 weeks after Deborah:(

That's another funeral for the poor families:(

  • Wonderful tribute to a naturally beautiful English rose. Deborah had such a magnificant classical beauty and a classy character. She was, and will always be, one of my favorite screen actors. Thanks so much for posting!

  • Yes she is magnificant and i wish she was an english rose but she was born Helensburg , Scotland 30th sep 1921

  • Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. She had that beautiful complexion, or seemed to on the screen. Scotland is a great place, too.

  • Then Deborah was a graceful Scottish Rose

  • Thank you for this wonderful tribute. Deborah Kerr is and will always be one of my favorite stars.

  • Not forever. Deborah Kerr had remarked that all the reruns of her films shown on TV had "...Kept me alive" in people's memories, and it helps secure new admirers as well. So by posting this, you are doing good! You are helping to keep her alive! Thank you!

  • The Silver Screen lost one of most beloved Leading Ladies. Deborah Kerr was truly a remarkable actress. Ms. Kerr will be missed!

    God Bless you, Deborah Kerr!

  • I'm absolutely crushed by the news. Thanks for the memories Deborah Kerr. We all love you and cherish you always! Rest in Peace, Scottish Rose:(
