No. A stripped down, bare essentials installation of XP uses 150MB when nothing else is running. Any self respecting computer geek will have upgraded the RAM for his/her EeePC anyway.

there is.

the 900 is based on the older GMA900 graphics which is not Aero capable.

the 901 on the other hand uses GMA950 which does Aero.

Every file system get fragmented dumbass and as for defragging, both Vista and 7 do that automaticially in the backgroung when the machine is idle. Don't talk about things you have no clue about.

I've just installed windows 7 beta 7000 build on my eeepc 1000 and I get the old vista bootscreen.

Thats because you modifed the bios right?

The orginal bootscreen doesnt fit the screen so you get vistas instead.

Nothing is wrong.

And now you dont have to make it go down in sleepmode to login.

you can fix the boot screen issue by flashing the 1101 or 1001 bios. anything later than that would have the blank screen once u got into the GUI.

hello, there is an HOW TO guide to install it in the video infos. it's in italian but you may traslate it with google traslator.

however the installation was in the 16GB ssd, in a partition of 9 GB. there is no drive ssd with 4GB in the 901go.
