  • i can't believe the sign at3.33 . it is exactly what the greens are !

  • scum bag greeny

  • Do ever say anything else, you turd?

  • I hate to break it to you but wee (the mill workers) will always be killing trees. So get over it. I cut up over 400 tons of trees a day and I'm proud of it.

  • @Drummer1316 try getting a real job. Create not destroy.

  • The future is vegan.

  • vote for green!

  • I could never have anything to do with logging these beautiful parts of the earth and I've got to say that alot of the people that do, are probably good blokes...Their just fken dumb!!!!!!!!!!

They just dont understand (or don't think) how serverely they're fking things up for generations to come..ALL THEY THINK IS 'HERE AND NOW!!! FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS THESE FORESTS HAVE STOOD STRONG, AND IN PEACE !! NO MAN HAS THE RIGHT TO COME IN AND FK IT ALL UP!!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRR

  • Totally agree with last comment Gunns should reimburse Tasmanians the millions it has stolen from this incredible place!! Why isn't Gunns and (de) Forestry Tas on trial. I know in generations to come they will be! Tasmania has the darkest past of all our states thanks to generations of vandals. Destruction of habitats, native peoples, extinctions of unique animals, nothing to be proud of!! Move with the times Tasmania and appreciate that what you unbelievably still have is the envy of the world!

  • The 13 who stood up for the planet are heros. The drivers of those disgusting trucks try to sanitise themselves to appear as "workers", "family breadwinners" and "Mr Average, just out to scratch a living". The reality is that just like John Gay they are repugnant, callous, ugly, enemies of all that is good, proper, honest and beautiful in this world.

  • Hey I really take exception to that!! I totally support the forest activists, but the "drivers of those disgusting trucks" ARE "workers", ARE "family breadwinners" etc. Saying they are repugnant, enemies of all that is proper & honest etc etc is just absurd. These people need to be brought on side, not marginalized, if we want to get anywhere. They are being screwed by Gunns as much as anybody, if not more so, and that sort of comment can only damage the "proper, honest & beautiful" cause : )

  • Having said that, great vid hehe : ) and the day itself was a great action - made great pictures, unforgettable pictures. Should be more of it....

  • I see your point, but I'm sorry, I don't agree. I've witnessed the aggression which these people bring down on forest blockaders and protestors and I don't think my point is at all absurd. I'm frankly tired of pandering to these sorts of people and hoping that talking over tea and biscuits is going to change their world view.

  • If people who are old enough to drive logging trucks are ignorant of the issues and values of the forests, it's because they want to be and I think they need to know they're out of line.

  • Perhaps. Anyone who has spent much time down would be aware of how extremely polarised the community is about these things, which it has been since I was a kid & I really don't think it's a very healthy way to be.

I don't know if saying truck drivers are repugnant callous and ugly is going to help the situation any. The forestry industry play that division card all the time - "taking your job" etc etc, and I think that is what needs to be counteracted, rather than alienating people...

  • Yeah... and the Melbourne mob who frighten, threaten, damage and move drugs have wives and families and are probably the only 'breadwinners' for their kids. A bit of perspective - would YOU drive one of those trucks or would you look for alternative employment? They ARE being screwed by Gunns and they are being brainwashed, but they also live in the lucky country - a place where you have a choice what you do.,

  • so.... now yr comparing log truck drivers to mob criminals who sell drugs and threaten people? that's got to be helpful, surely!! Frankly, depending on my financial commitments, I probably WOULD drive a log truck if I had to, if I couldn't find another option. And remember, for some of us, a lot of us in fact, employment options are limited - particularly in economic times like these. In the "lucky country" (an oft misapplied moniker), some people have more choices than others...
