I had the pleasure of knowing Eddie towards the end of his life when he was at Tip's French Quarter. He went so far as to show this chubby white guy his keyboard magic when he invited me to his house (a firehouse) and I learned 80% of what matters in life.
the problem with this record, even if you add part 2 is: IT AINT NEARLY LONG ENOUGH. it should be 8 to 10 minutes just to stop the funk cravings.... i wonder if the musicians, especially the drummer is exhausted after doing a song like this.
We took gems like this for granted at the time they were released & WE SOLD AND PROMOTED THEM at One Stop Record Shop in New Orleans on South Rampart Street because there were SOOOOOO many at the time. In retrospect years later, they are ALL rare gems! Love This Song! PLEASE TELL ME I am not the only one who heard this song in Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack!" DAVEDJ
the reference is to work in a coffee warehouse. the coffee was in burlap sacks, you worked with a t-handled hook. you'd hook 'em, then you'd sling 'em.
