Let me point out to you that where Mehdi Hassan Saheb was born was not part of the new country of Dominion of India. That area was ruled by the Rajputs and they were independent of the British. The Dominion of India annexed it on March 30, 1949. Unfortunately there is lot of confusion between "The Subcontinent of India" (as the British described it) and the newly formed country called "The Dominion of India". They are not the same. Agreed, that music doesn't have any boundaries.
