  • I still haven't learned anything from this guy watching any video. The dogs he shows are already trained so it proves nothing

  • AmericanPitbulls1 I know that. I almost lost 1 dog to parvo virus by taking him out and socialing him before he was properly vacinated,I wasn't going to take that chance with my current dog.She socialized with family dogs, like my sistrs dogs and my niece's dogs.My dog's vet gave me th instructions and I followed them. She is good with all dogs, we attend alot of our local SPCA's functions as well as Pets In The Park. We go to off leash parks a few times a week.We walk everyday for a hour or more

  • I wonder if that lady knew she was talking to Zak Geroge

  • can you make a new frisbee give away please? I'm subscribed now, so I'll know when you do, so I'll have a chance. Thanks!

  • is callie like a pit bull mix or staffordshire bull terrier or any kind of dog like that?

  • @DanceStar571 she is a American Pit Bull Terrier he has said in a previous video but has know been put on private

  • @AmericanPitbulls1 aww she's so cute :) is she a rescue?

  • @DanceStar571 as far as I know not sure I think I will ask him on next time I see him wont be talking to him any other way in the next few days so I will ask

  • Isn't that 9 week old puppy a little young to be out in a dog park? I had to wait till my dog was 5 months old to take her out for walks and to a dog park. The reason she needed to be 100% protected against Canine Parvo Virus. The vacine is given in 2 separate stages.

  • @HARMARSCH2 you are supposed to socialized as young as possible your just not suppose to take them near unvaccinated dogs and he goes to parks for people not dogs

  • @AndrewJThomas97 how is George now how old and start training asap

  • my comment is.. the real life question, when you trow something and espect your dog to go after it... but not the goose.

    lol

what I'm trying to says is, is this a "never go after the goose" exercice ?

  • @679mid yes if you teach a dog leave it it should never be allowed to go after it including treat like dont say leave it then say okay they will start grabbing it when it has been a little while bye

  • i WANT A FRIZBEE.....GREAT VIDEO, i LOVE TO TRAIN DOGS.

  • owh that puppy is soo cute :)

  • When do you stop giving the dogs treats, ore other positive feedback, after you ask them to stay ore come to you? I mean when and how do you know you can expect that from your dog?

    Good videos:)

...just wondering, what do you think of Cesar Millans ways of training dogs??

(overlook my broken english, im from europa)

  • how old were you when you made your first video?

  • I want to become a dog trainer when I grow up

  • who won?

  • Your videos is the funniest and best videos of youtube :)

  • I don't understand how to correct, you never showed a dog that didn't obey! I am getting a pup and she'll be small so hopefully easier to train.

  • great vid, great lesson! I wish my dog could stay that calm when he's excited or distracted that long!

  • nice videos man !!!

  • @ogglepuss

THis guys knows what he's talking about. Show some respect please.

  • Did you give away the Frisbee yet? I think my "little" Boxer pup deserves a frisbee for the summer

  • Zak I am so looking forward to your next video

What's going on you haven't published a new video for a long time :-(

  • I practice training with my dog a lot during our daily walks. It helps a lot because the "walking" is a HUGE reward for her! She's to the point where she'll sit and wait on cue very consistently. We've recently started training "leave it", so I still give her occasional rewards for that one; she's just now catching onto the idea that "it" can be pretty much anything she's thinking about going after.

  • Your videos are awesome! Gives me new ideas to teach our pup! We have a 14 mo old aussie/heeler... she just learned bow & high five in the same day! She also knows play dead, roll over, sit pretty, dance, crawl...she loves to fetch her friz (frisbee)...I think we have about as much fun as she does... =)

  • We just got a puppy last week. A lab/collie. He's really quiet and shy. Hardly plays. Sleeps more than anything. I try to get him to play and he doesnt really get into it. Is this how he's going to act forever? Also sometimes when I walk him on the leash he wont budge. I feel like he's never going to change?!

  • Zak thank you very much for all youre videos, I learn a lot from them.

My problam is that my dog alway fail the distraction test. she noks the command to come to me and she does it very good, but any would make her pose or even complitly ignore the command. how do i make myself more "attrective"?

my dog is a mix breed about 6 year old.

hope you would get this and answer me

    Remy

  • Zak , when are you going to publish a new video on this channel?

  • Nice shirt Zak *smirk* haha

  • hey Zack my dog just got his canine good citizenship and therapy dog international my question is do your dogs have anything like that. thank u so much for all your videos

  • pit bull!!! :)

  • Your videos always make me want a dog so badly xD I love your dogs they're beautiful.

  • Beauitful doggies

  • Very cool vid!

  • If Callie would have went for the frisbee, what would you have done with the leash?

  • My Lady just had her 5th birthday! Check me out on my YouTube channel and you can view her b-day party. She'd really like that frisbie!

    We always enjoy your vids!

  • its kind of weird how i just saw you on tv then went on youtube and see you here too

  • Hey Zak, I've seen all your videos, but i still need help!

I got my new schnauzer puppy today, the problem is that he doesnt like to be in the dog cage I made him, and I've got to leave him there tomorrow for at least 8 hours.

  • I recently adopted clicker training and positive reinforcement for my two dogs. I was wondering, though, how to train them simultaniously when one prefers play and the other prefers food as a reward? I don't want them to start disobeying or ignoring the training because the other is getting a different reward. Also, would there be a way to train them both at once, yet while I'm working with one, somehow "isolating" the other without ignoring it, or pushing it away, or shouting, etc.?

  • Fun vid! Enter me please!

  • I know this will sound silly, but is your command to stay "stay" or" Dont move?" LOL

  • Sounds like great advice for training dogs, but the demo really is showing a dog that is already trained. Do you have a demo of showing you train a dog that isn't trained yet?

  • pls enter me

  • Hi Zak

    I loves your videos.

Its such a please to see the wonderful way you train dog.

    You are an inspiration.

Please make more videos about Frisbee.

Specifically, what to do if the dog doesn't catch it in the air.

Maybe the problem is with the throw itself?

My dog is crazy about Frisbee and will do absolutely anything for a throw but she usually doesn't catch it in the air.

    Please help

  • Could you please make a video about proper dog park behavior and how to keep your dog from getting tense or aggressive? Thanks!

  • greetings from Poland

  • your dogs are amazin at disc! My goldens also love it but sometimes they loose interest. do u know how to motivate them better?

  • man :-( I missed the contest :-( How do you teach your dog to play frisbee anyways?

  • I wanna win! :-)......Dang, to late. I don't think I will ever win because I can't get to You Tube everyday. :-(

  • that little puppy is sooo cute!!!!!

  • I've been watching videos and reading books (and thinking about) dog/animal training nonstop! I wonder how one goes about to becoming a dog trainer? Finding the hands on experience is a bit confusing to me.

How did you get your experience with dog training? How does one, like myself, go about learning to become a dog trainer? Are there any schools or programs you can recommend (or not recommend?) Are there ways for me to gain more experience?

Also, any other info is always nice! Thanks!

  • Confused!!

When you gave the comand of stay to Callie. To me, it was like you were asking her to stay and not comanding her to stay!!!!!

Your body language did not suggest confidence. Nor did it look like a comand but rather a request.

    enter me.

  • @Sallybunckle right. Zak, is a positive reinforcement trainer. He uses rewards and praise to train (as do I). My dog responds to light voice just fine. I will lower my voice if needed, but it rarely is. Training for Zak, and for myself, is more play than work. The most important thing about training is to make a connection with your dog, some do this by getting harsh with the dog and dominating- I think they are heading for trouble. I'd rather have a dog that loves me than fears me any day.

  • Hey, I think your way of training is absolutely correct. I to use p/ renfment with praise, treats and more praise. I just think theres nothing wrong with being assertive to. Theres nothing wrong with telling a dog to do something rather than asking, it doesent mean Ive being dominating and putitng fear in my dog. Im just telling her that "this is what I want"!!! I proud of my dog as she been working off lead in class for some time now and she's only 12 months old. :) Go Aussies !!

  • @Sallybunckle no there's nothing wrong with being assertive. but why do it if you don't need to? I talk to my dog basically like I would a 5 yr old. Short easy sentences with commands he knows. If he doesn't respond like I want I will drop my voice lower and get a little louder but just enough to get his attention. I don't always verbalize his commands either, we have gestures for most commands and I can snap to get his attention and point up to make him sit.

  • @moonthelost. I dont see a lot of difference between our training methods.

All the best to you and your training.

    cheers

  • @Sallybunckle also, I didn't mean to call you a mean trainer. Apologies if it sounded like I was.
