  • wow man, I didnt know anyone else could actually play this besides JBT lol

    Kudos to you my friend

  • CGCGCE. THAT'S THE TUNING

  • Its in open c tuning. CGCGCE

  • HAHAHHAHA trial version :P

  • @ryan8u4t the whole point is to do it by ear, there are tabs on ultimate guitar, but they're long and tedious to learn fully...

  • @JohnnyWigdog Whats your point?

  • How do you make the strings sound so loudly when you hit them with your fingers? my guitar makes almost no sound when i try it

  • @ejdejd1 My guess would be the guitars action as the strings are quiet far away from the fretboard. But personally ive always been able to get sound out of the guitar by just pulling off and hittting the strings its my style of playing, let the guitar do the work :)

  • @ejdejd1 A semi-decent guitar also makes a big difference !

  • Try a fresh set of strings

  • @ejdejd1 softer strings might also produce more sound when tapping.

  • are u scotish??

  • @megakuli lol yes born and bred :)

  • @neilss1 Whereabouts from? Im from Scotland too.

  • @SillyMeProductions7 Fife originally ;)

  • @neilss1 Cool. Im from West Lothian.

  • by the way is this in a different tuning? cuz i have my capo on the 4th frett and everything but it doesn't sound the same :-/

  • good looks man. true bout the teaching part though. good playing :p

  • @attica1010 sorry to hear that :/

  • @attica1010 "sad but true" lol

  • Very impressive, i actually don't think i'd get far with this lesson i think it's a bit far beyond what i'm cabable of but still very impressive.

  • @danwoodier Thank you just thought i could show people the breakdown for this hard part and it would help them out :D

  • Bro you are tooo good xD nice guitar btw better than the gibson sj200 in my opinion

  • not to be gay but your guitar is kinda sexy haha.

  • @viperx68 haha not gay atal you just have good taste :P

  • @neilss1 kinda looks like a hummingbird from the pickguard? no?

  • @ChrisMarshall1218 Hey its an EJ 200 (Epiphone) :d was hard to get one with the cutaway!!

  • Your guitar is pretty and you did this exceptionally well.

  • thats tuned to a d rite?

  • @SunshineGypsi open c

  • love your accent

  • Nice guitar! and awesome accent lol, thanks for the vid man.

  • @Clownpwnage17 lol thanks dude

  • is it a 6 string guitar?

  • that im using yes but john uses a 12 string no difference just 12 string has a fuller sound

  • @neilss1 Jb uses an 11string guitar,,,

  • @l8766654321 no the guitar is a 12 string he just doesnt have the octive G string on the model is still a 12 string lol lets not get technical we both KNOW what he uses , with the exception of his maton custom guitar where the truss rod has been removed and a wave has been carved in its place which looks badass :P

  • i love the lesson, the guitar, and the accent ;)

  • Oh wow that was lush =D Nicely played! I cant wait to learn it. I checked out your detailed version of this tutorial too! Thanks alot =D and loving the accent =)

  • where did you learn that???

  • Just from the tab and general playing of the song

  • What's the tuning? can't find that nywere

  • Hey go to the new video in the decription i cover the tuning of the song aswel :)

  • cgcgce

  • dude i love your guitar :)

  • Thanks!! i know its no reason to choose a guitar but thats what drew me towards it but it sounded good aswel and the actions high enough for a slide too :D

  • hey man nice lesson. wondering if you could send me the tabs for this

  • open C CGCGCE

  • hey man do u rekon u cud email us a version of what ure playing so i can look and watch u play while learning, cuz that ultimate guitar version is very different (Y)

    sounds wiked btw

  • Hi man sorry i dunno wat to tell u i have no tabs i need to get this in HD so people can see the strings.

  • Hay I'm working on a guitar pro version based on the live at St. Galan CD news coming soon

  • Awesome tutorial! just plucking the 2 strings makes it a bit easier to play

I got a question or two though ; when you played played in the tutorial, you pluck every string in the fast part. Is it better to than using your nail to play the 'ending' of the fast part? [from the tab you have, when it goes to low C and then up the neck, nd the fast part starts again]

Other q. you obviously seen john butler videos =p would you know if having longer fingernails helps with the strumming in the song?

  • Hey thanks for the comment

Firstly the tab itself showed me where the note positions are then i worked it out myself i pluck up the neck in the pattern shown. dont let "my made up" part confuse u.

2nd question, YES my nails are longer than average it has its advantages and gives u a fuller sound, although they are hard to maintan and its sou destroying when they break lol

and my girlfriend hates tht her boyfrind has longer nails than she hahah

ask anything else if im unclear

    Thanks

  • when you play the fast part do you mute when you play the open g-string and if you do, how do you do it?

  • Nope not atal u pluck it in between plucking the B string it just makes it sound fuller and adds more of a beat to it

  • See if I got this right; So you let it ring out?

  • hey man... i love this song but i cant quite see whats going on... is it possible for you to tab it out or something or make a link in the description for it because its a bit fast for me... don't know about everyone else but yeah... anyway i love the tut anyway lol... keep going with it (Y)

  • thank's a lot for making that tutorial hope you will do another one with a better quality and where i can really see what's your left hand doing.

really good job man thank's for transmit :)

  • I'm still struggling with the trend on the part of a number of young players, to make the guitar represent the drums, the base, the rhythmn and the lead, all at the same time.

I've been known to whack the body of the guitar in some songs myself, but I'm still tryin to decide if what I'm hearing lately is truly inventive and creative, or just a misuse of the guitar.

I guess it's "fine" but it'll take some time before I give it its due.

  • Its a kindof new thing to me, i think anyway that you can make the guitar make a sound as long as your using the strings it counts as playing it IE the eric mongraine (dont know about the spelling) hi song "airtap" is beutiful and he taps the strings but i do know what u mean some people just smash the crap outta it and try and say there playing it. thanks for ur coment :)

  • No probs thanks for the comment glad it helped :D

  • Oops. I meant capo on the FOURTH fret*

  • Capo on the first fret makes into the key of E :) Check out my ocean cover if you like, It's kind of a simplified version, Cheers:) Nice tutorial!

  • finally someone has tried to simplify theat bit!! good job man

  • Good vid mate. Great to see more scottish acoustic players on youtube! What tuning do you use for this though?

  • Thanks i had my "proper" voice on so people could understand me lol its in open C CGCGCE/ EADGBE
