  • Lacatuscovalschi is an example of a completely closed mind. Ignore him. Stupidity like that is intentional. I'm with you, Kate.

  • science flies you to the moon

    religion flies you into buildings

    faith cannot move mountains

but look what can do to buildings

  • God has proven himself through bible prophecy. God predicted the coming of his son JESUS CHRIST through the prophet Daniel in chapter 9 538 years before JESUS came and began his ministry. If their is no God than Daniel by no means could have foretold the coming of JESUS CHRIST precisely in such fashion. Plus you have to remember God used his prophets to predicted where his son would be born how his son would die through a bunch of prophets who never saw each other. That is proof.

  • @lacatuscovalschi That's only proof that a later happening could be crammed into a vaguely-worded religious text. It's not scientific, rational, empirical, or objective.

Try again. Find something that can be proved in a lab, by unbiased researchers.

  • @BionicDance This is proof. Daniel 9 was written 500 years before JESUS. DANIEL CHAPTER 9 SAID THAT 483 YEARS WOULD pass from the time the decree would be given to rebuild the Jewish temple until the messiah would come. The decree was given by the median Persian king in 476 ad if you add 483 years to the date of the decree you come to the year 26 ad when JESUS began his ministry the prophecy said than the anointed one would be killed and so it was fulfilled

  • @lacatuscovalschi That's not proof; if the year was in there, anybody could look it up and force it to happen.

  • @BionicDance Ohh so you’re saying I cant use the New Testament to prove the old because you think the new was written to match the old. But what about the prophecies the New Testament made for our future. Revelation predicted in chapter 17 that the harlot church would come out of the city which lies on seven hills. 500 YEARS later The Roman catholic church which sits on Rome which lays on seven hills was established and fulfilled bible prophecy as the harlot false church.

  • @lacatuscovalschi And this book is fact and not fiction because...?

Anyway, no, I'm NOT saying anything about Old vs New testament...I'm saying you can't use ANY prophecy that could be MADE to come true just from having read the book and taking steps to ensure it as evidence of prophecy being real.

When you have some solid, checkable, empirical, scientific evidence...get back to me.

  • @BionicDance How is that not enough evidence to believe the Bible is from God and not from man. The prophets clearly were right in everything they said, how can you still dought that they are not speaking of their own imagination but of God's word. They predicted the exact location and doings of the harlot church 500 years before it took root. If you won’t believe in God after this than you won’t believe even if someone rises from the dead in front of you.

  • @lacatuscovalschi Actually, yes; that's about right.

If it's not evidence that I can check and verify FOR MYSELF, in a controlled and scientific study, NO, I'm NOT going to believe. I'm NOT going to just take someone's word for it. No. Absolutely not.

  • @BionicDance Its common sense my friend. No human being could have been accurate in predicting future world events as the prophets did. Unless God is true and he is the one who speaks through the prophets. So far all i have is a bunch of prophecies that came true. Prophecies that were written thousands of years before that came true. The old testament is my source and its prophecies are coming true to this very day, so how can you not believe in God is that not enough evidence to believe

  • @lacatuscovalschi Sorry, but I don't believe in common sense; what people THINK is common sense is all too often completely wrong.

I demand proof and evidence, something I can check objectively. Got any o' that for this nonsense you're spouting?

  • beautiful!

    ;d

  • Perfect voice for this message.

  • If you actually go for a walk--its 1+1=1...adding up the picticorial--??

  • That voice sounds like, Jennifer Tilly. Nice work!

  • Awesome video! I especially liked the line "I can live and let live

If they'll just do it back!" It is such a true line, and it is so tiring trying to debate with those who believe in a fairytale.

  • Thanks! I actually think that's my favorite line too, but mostly because it sounds the most like something Dr. Seuss might'a written. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • 2:13 lmfao that is to funny the ex vp i swear to jesus i'll get every last one of you to the press corp lmfao lmfao lol

  • Brilliant!

  • Great stuff!! Please don't ever stop:)

  • Excellent indeed! You're G-R-R-eat, hope I don't get sued by Tony the TIger.

  • Wow, that was one the most awesome videos i've ever seen. Well done!

  • Aww, shucks. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • talented

  • Life is a disease of matter.

  • you're welcome

  • 1:53 FTW... would probably be my everyday if I lived in the USA.

    nice poem.

  • when i read 'green eggs and ham" and many of hte suess-ology books DAILY to my kids, i spoke in suess without thinking...it was....disturbing actually...but weirdly inventive.

    :)

    good poen, bionicdance!

  • I love it! I didn't know you could write poetry so well.

    Excellent choice of music...

I think I'm gonna have to watch The Rocky Horror picture show tonight =D

  • Excellent, rythmically & lyrically. And in content.

  • It was hard to read the text in the pictures AND listen to the poem at the same time. I ended up reading the text in the pix and then reading the poem after the video. Just a suggestion. Good effort!

  • Not bad... :)

...some parts seemed to miss a bit of "flow".

It was an enjoyable poem none-the-less...

    *cheers*

  • That was fantastic! Are you trying or have you got it published?

  • Aww, I made it solely for YouTube, to be honest.

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • It's such a sad state of affairs

    and I don't care

This place could use a little repair

    and I don't caaare.

  • awesome poem BD. i added it to a new playlist i created for atheist poems. if you know of any others i should add, let me know

  • The first third of the poem and visuals makes a pretty good case against atheism. Then it degenerates into basically an accusation that theists don't care whether there is really a God or not. Guess what? We do care. We also believe. It isn't about feelings. It is about reality. Watch the first 1/3rd of the video again and try to say that all "just happened". Theists search for reality. Evidently the poet is happy not looking for it.

  • The first third sets the stage; it's only an argument against atheism if you beg the question about how the universe came to be in favor of a god.

How can people care whether there's a god when they rely on faith instead of fact? Religious faith is the act of shutting one's eyes to reality in favor of feelings. It's the theist who denies the search for what's true, especially if they can look at the science of how the universe formed and call it "just happened".

  • "Religious faith is the act of shutting one's eyes to reality"

No it is opening ones eyes to a necessary ingredient for our reality. It has nothing to do with feelings. The atheist only wants to look at the 2/3rds that science tells us and avoids looking at the 1/3rd that science can't explain. Theists look at the big picture and realize an intelligence had to be involved. You are the one shutting your eyes to answers.

  • When you can provide checkable, verifiable answers, I'll start considering the religious message. But religion doesn't provide answers which one can verify...which is another way of saying that religion just plays Pretend™ and expects us all to just believe it.

    Bull. Fucking. Shit.

  • I almost expected to hear "Micheal Riney was ill the day the earth stood still." lol. rhps ftw.

  • Wow, an amazing poem. We need more atheists doing this so that we can say, "See the beautiful art WE also create, WITHOUT a God!?!" I love your pacing and choice of words..

    My only complaint?

I had a hard time watching and listening while I was simultaneously singing along with the actual song, lmao...

"At the late night... Double feature... Picture show..."

Lol, so far, between this and your use of Space Ghost.. You're high on my list of people Id love to hang out with, lmao.

  • Heh. I used to be quite the Rocky nerd; went to two performances every week back in college.

That music track without the lyrics? off my personal karaoke CD. *grin*

    Thanks for watching! :)

  • This is such a good poem. I really wish I could rhyme like you Kate.

  • Aww, shucks. :)

  • How long did you work on it?

  • The writing? Maybe an hour. Plus another couple of hours for the video-making.

  • Thats Impressive. Oh and btw Pat Condell has a New video out! I'm sure you'll have heard of him but check it out its a good one.

  • Heh. Way ahead of you; saw it a few hours ago. Thanks for the rec, tho. :)

  • Thought you would have. Good isn't it? Peace!

  • Hm. It's the reverse in britain. The atheists tend to be more pushy, and more willing to call the christians stupid, evil, child abusers. Probably because religion is seen as more of a private thing here.

Pretty good. Much stronger at the start though. The rhyming scheme kinda died.

The message is rather spoiled by you believing religion is what's wrong with the world, and implying what we do is false with 'pretend'. It's hard to "live and let live" if one side thinks the other is "nuts".

  • No, it's hard to live and let live when one side keeps forcing their agenda and opinion down peoples' throats; by comparison, having to live and let live while knowing someone else things you're a smidge batty is, frankly, a lot easier.

There are a LOT of groups who have folks thinkin' they're a bit nutty: sports fans, sci-fi fans, UFO enthusiasts, and so on... Somehow, we manage to live in peace with weirdos and nutbars...except with selfish religion, because they won't play well with others.

  • I live in Britain and I don't see it that way. I get people (and even teachers) mocking me for not believing.

  • Do you? It may just be my school. I've often been mocked for believing, particularly by my old maths teacher, and people who've just read Richard Dawkins. Only people who are really safe are muslims, since the government wants to avoid angering them.

Anyway, the main thing is that if you, upon having someone call you evil so they can impress their christian friends, then call religious people retarded so you can impress your atheist friends, it looks utterly unconvincing.

  • I don't call the religious people retarded, but I understand why you would think that I would. I instead either ignore them or try to show flaws in what they are saying (even though they don't care xD). And I don't try to impress my atheist friends, as only two of them actually care and neither are usually present at the time, except for when the teacher mocks me, unfortunately there are only two of us in his class, the rest are religious and just point and laugh.

  • I meant the esteemed poet above. I have no idea what you believe about us. You could write a poem, I guess.

It may just be that any group of people who outnumbers the other bullies smaller groups. At your school, most are religious, so you get bullied. At my school, most are atheistic, so I get bullied.

  • Its terrible, no one is justified in bullying.

  • your voice is sexy in some way, I don't even know

  • Heh. I get that a lot; maybe some day I'll believe it. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • maybe it's just that as physicist, I love hearing quarks, leptons, fermions and HOT burning stars. yum yum

  • Well, by "hot burning stars", I was of course referring to that time when Michael Jackson caught his hair on fire... ;)

  • Great video and poem!

It made me smile and relax. Thank you so much for that. I don't have any words to truly describe how this poem moved me.

  • Aww...! Well, I'm glad I could brighten SOMEbody's day. :)

  • That was absolutly brilliant!

You have brightened up my whole day,

I wish could do more but I can only say HEY!

    Thanx Bionic. U ROCK

(sorry, I know that was terrable but please don't be a hater)

  • Excellent. 5 Star, and Faved.

  • that fucking sucked. Jesus I hate poetry WTF!?

  • A poem by BionicDance

    Which took an atheist stance

    Didn't float Noah's ducky

    And therefore he's lucky

That Bionic can't kick him in the pants.

    -Burma Shave

  • This is why I fantasize about fire!

  • This is why I like ham!

  • BRILLIANT!!! has cheered me up after watching lots of vids from muslims ,christians, scientologists, etcetc all full of hate and intolerance. youve highlighted the fact that atheists are different from theists in that we dont think that the believers are going to burn in hell or be punished eventually. i couldnt live in a faith that proposed that kind of cruel rubbish..if they are all so full of love then how can they?

  • rocky FTW

  • Well made!

I wish I was half as creative as that.

    BTW, cute kitties!

  • Awesome!

  • Epic video :D

  • I have not come across anything this good in ages. Keep it up! I loved it ^_^

  • Lovely and true!

  • Beautiful

    *applause*

  • well done, simply great

  • lurvn' the flurry of vids lately! Thanks BD, they're all great.

  • I've found myself with a bit more free time these last few days, or maybe I'm just managing my time better.

Regardless, I've had more of an opportunity for vid making. :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • Excellent stuff, BD :)

  • Nice.. really good, congrats.

  • Great poetics. Though the background music wildly distracts from the cadence & rhyming.

  • GREAT! 5 STAR...

  • Bravo! Encore.

  • Very nice!

  • Good poem!

  • Wow, very cool. 5* and favorite!

  • Rock on; thanks for watching! :)

  • That was fantastic!!

  • Nice. Have you ever considered voice acting or reading books on cd or anything. You'd have a great voice for that kind of think.

This had an almost Dr. Suess-ish rhythmic quality to it, which means I liked it.

  • I HAVE considered it. Thing is...I may be good, but I'm not amazing, and I've met people MUCH better than I who have been trying to break into the voice-over biz for ages with little success. I'm not a fan of my chances.

If I get "discovered", I'd jump at it, but otherwise...

  • Great poem.

I liked the doublet 'pariah and messiah'.

  • It's such a sad state of affaris

    and I don't care

This place could use a little repair, and I don't care.

The TV on the table says listen to me hum

I sit on the sofa with my mind all numb

And each little murderer doesn't make me angry

And the dirt in the sink gets washed down the drain

  • BionicSeuss (a.k.a. Dr.Dance)

  • Was also going to say "awesome music choice". I liked the poem, even if it was a little forced at places, it was still better than I could do.

You should put the text on the side bar or link to it on your comic site, er something. Always a pleasure to watch your vids. Thanks!

  • Mm...the text.

    Yes, good idea; done.

  • Wow! That sweet anime voice, atheist poetry, and a science fiction double feature, all rolled into one? That's a match made in heaven!

Oh sorry, not heaven - that's antithetical to the whole point.

That's a match made in a really nice place; Tahiti, Barbados, or somewhere like that.

  • Perfectly done BionicDance ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • Aww, shucks. *blush* :)

  • I love the choice of music.

  • Heh...if I do nothing else right, I apparently have good taste in music; I have yet to pick a song for any of my vids where someone'z like, "Oh...! Dear gawds...! That was AWFUL! What's WRONG with you???"

    Heh.

  • Quite good, very lyrical and beautiful.

I've been wondering what's with all of these atheist-themed videos of yours. At least half of your videos are venting copious amounts of frustration about religion. Are rational people in America really as beset by Jesus heads as you and all of these other video-makers make it seem?

If so, move to Canada. You'll live a longer and less stressed life :P

  • Consider: I'm a lesbian who can't get married and will thankfully never need an abortion cuz I couldn't get one of those if I wanted one.

All because of a bunch of religious chowderheads who never learned to SHARE.

Not to MENTION the stranglehold they try to put on science because it has a tendency to prove their beliefs are wrong.

Religious nutbars are DESTROYING this world.

If they'd have me, I'd gladly move to Vancouver, BC; lovely up there.

  • Point taken!

Yes move to Vancouver. The 4 hours or so I've spent there were wonderful. AND same-sex marriage is legal.

  • You better be collecting these for a book!

  • But... But... Dr. Seuss always had a *happy* ending....

  • Didn't "The Lorax" end kind of badly?

  • Outstanding as usual.

  • BionicSuess! Love it....
