  • I used this move in a fight once, then I woke up. :(

  • lols! ièm a tall girl. so probably Im doing this to small people or short. hahahaha

  • Why in this animation did the kicker draw the footback? Loses so much power that way :(

  • i was able to do this years ago....

but i didnt fall that hard tho... i kinda blocked it...

  • I do this to toddlers

  • An Tchagui.

  • ...unless you forget to keep your knee slightly bent, or at the point of impact your knew gets hyper-extended.

  • @smitty225 This is why trying to do techniques out of human weapon is a bad idea.

  • 16 people have been axe kicked

  • ake kick is supposed to land with your heel, potentially breaking the shoulder, or cracking the skull if done correctly in a real fight

  • This is supposed to be done on the ground. Why is it done with two guys standing up?

  • @DeathFirere shut up asshole --'

  • kiss my foot

  • The correct name for TKD is Neryo Chagui

  • this kick looks gay ..in real life

  • these guys are maken all those figures up they seen it on street fighter end of. ryu would not be impressed

  • what if i am shorter than the opponent? it's impossible

  • @samwaii then u should probably use a different move

  • @samwaii this kick can reach a maximum height of roughy 1.8 times your 1 leg lenght. It depends on your legs flexibility

  • @basilisk444 thanks

  • @samwaii not rly. depends on how much the height difference is. and this kick is also easily used during a jump

  • What is the name of this tv show?

  • Axe kick? u name it by urself eh fuckin history channel. Its called "Bal-Ja-Gi" its originated from korean taekwondo. "Axe kick" my ass.

  • @JoeCaliforniah its called an axe kick in most martial arts

  • @JoeCaliforniah

they are using the MMA name for it dumbass

  • @JoeCaliforniah tit fucker

  • Is it necessary to do that to a person on the ground?Just kick them normally...

And if I could waste my time lifting my leg up that high just to throw it down, I mind as well make that a boot to the face.

  • ass kick -.-

  • lol at first i thought this said ass kick i was like damnnnnnnnn

  • i do this to dwarfs

  • @BelleAndTheBoy I'll get rid of it, lol.

  • This is so useless if your opponent is for example half a foot taller than you.

  • in slomo it looked like he was caressing the other guy with his foot...

  • could they at least were some clothes

  • @Ruby207702 no they look good naked LOL no homo but it doesn't matter becuz their CGI

  • sigh better start stretching lol

  • this looks effective if i could lift my foot above my own chest

  • A) This is an odd variation of the Axe Kick hitting with the ball of the foot rather than the heel.

    B) For everyone saying how they would counter it: yes, it can be countered. So can every other strike; there is always some way to counter it and render it useless. But from the starting position of this kick (bringing the knee up) I can think of (off the top of my head) five different kicks (ignoring angle variations) that it could turn into, which makes it far harder to know which is coming.

  • @oXAndromedaXo if you would do it with your heel your achilles thingy would be in greater risk than with the ball (sorry for my bad english)

  • Good thing I wear a motorcycle helmet while I commute. Would hate to have a grey guy come up and smear his foot on my face.

  • lmaoooo the top comments on these human weapon videos are funy as fuck

  • if anyone done dat move to me, il jus knock his foot sideways wit an open palm n simply kicks his other foot the other direction, groundtime

  • if ur opposing the opponent using the axe kick, hold his feat with one hand and kick him in the balls HAHAHA!!

  • i fight mma and i use this kick alot w/ my front leg to set up a back leg roundhouse beautiful

  • i'd rather use rex kwon do. i find it much more effective, break the wrist walk away.

  • While your getting your leg over your head, hes pushing you on the floor and farting in your face

  • uhhmmmm.....i cant kick that high :(

  • You don't bend your foot when you preform the axe kick

  • This is one of my favorite kicks makes people jump 10 feet back to dodge it sadly i have long legs and then dont get far =(

  • completely useless...

  • My favorite kick.Use this in a fight and your attacker will shit themselves for sure

  • @TheOverfiendDj Only if they're backwoods inbred cracker fucks. I've taken one of these to the shoulder, full force and countered it with a leg sweep after grabbing the leg above the knee and applying force. This is one of the MANY street useless Tae Kwon Do moves, it just looks flashy.

  • @SmartMiroku Oh wow arent you a true ninja lmao if you knew anything you would know that any technique isnt very useful unless you time it correctly.Mr True Ninja warrior.

  • @TheOverfiendDj The timing. Ha. ANYTHING could be effective with timing, but the only timing the axe kick is even worth the energy it takes to perform is after your opponent is on the ground and you are aiming for the side of their head. I'm far from being a ninja, but I know enough physics and martial arts to be an effective fighter.

  • i tried this earlier... i now have twice as many assholes

  • this happened to me when i was sparring

  • This is so hard to do... try this, you can't put strength into the leg when it's at the topmost position because the hamstrings so tight...

  • @KeatonKB then you are a weak skinny ass mother fucker

  • @KeatonKB I have to agree it feels weak. I'd rather strike the knee and possibly shatter it then expose all that down there just to possibly shatter their clavicle or nose, when I could easily do it with my hand.

  • @KeatonKB its called training i can do an axe kick just fine off front or back leg saying this kick cant be done due to tightness in your hamstring is like say marathons cant be done because it takes so much energy

  • @smsjgoku don't misunderstand me, I just said its "hard"; I'm a black belt at taekwondo, and I know what's training. Thanks for explaining anyways.

  • @KeatonKB sorry it just seemed like someone trying to draw a masterpeice with no experiance and saying its cant be done by anyone so yea stuff like that gets to me at time

  • @smsjgoku Haha, no need to say sorry bro, no hard feelings lol.

I understand sometimes words can just tick you off. :D

  • I mostly utilize this move while lying on my back

  • i would tear my hamstring if i tried this...

  • @planesoverlames Quadriceps. You would tear your Quadriceps :D

  • no the axe kick is not used with the heel, its used exactly how they showed it, accept its mainly to used on the shoulder, and it would be more powerful if they did use the heel, but get more distance with the front

  • LIKE THIS IF YOU PISS ON THE SIDES OF THE TOILET SO IT MAKES LESS NOISE :D

  • im no tkd expert but i think you should be striking with the heel of your foot. not the flat part on the bottom. silver guy just gave that guy a massive bitch slap with the foot.

  • @kylescotternest Pretty sure the video has it right the heel is the preffered striking surface, but the foot should be pointed to protect the achilles tendon, and because of this if you dont get the distance right you will often hit with the ball instead of the heel. Which is still going to throw him off and possibly do damage.

  • an axe kick lands the kick with the heel.. and u go up with the leg straight not bent.,.

  • its more effective if u hit the shoulder near the neck, mainly if the guy is shorter or weaker than you...

  • while this vid shows impact with the ball of the foot, my own exp is that the heel is better. In fact, most ppl from where I trained were unable to do a board break if they used the ball rather than heel. Anyone know of an axe kick that IS supposed to be done with the ball of the foot? I think it was a mistake in animation, but perhaps I'm mistaken.

  • @imreadydoctor In MMA, I don't think the heel in a variation of this kick is allowed. If this kick is still allowed in MMA schools it has to be used as a ball of the foot kick rather than a stomp variation of this kick on the ground. I know MMA n TKD r 2 diff things but Ithe only ball/foot variation I can think of is in MMA schools

  • We do this all the time at TKD pratice

  • This kick is aparently slow for me but I think this kick can be really fast cuz if it is slow i can move away. Than this kick is slow or fast?

  • @Pichacu1 soppose to be fast, practice makes perfect. This kick is really good if you could hide this kick with a combination of other strikes :]

  • @LtActionCam Ok thanks

  • ha if you had nasty long toe nails you could go for an eye gouge

  • dont you want to try to use your heel to hit them?.. Mirko Cro Cop does... Toes/balls of your feet would just glance off...

  • I can do this... on a really short person

  • GUY 1: "did you wipe your feet?"

(GUY 2 looks at the camera, winks, puts his shades on, looks back at GUY 1)

    need i say more?

  • Na-Ru-To Uzumaki BARRAGE !!!!

  • moneyparade dont know shit about martial arts. he obviously showed that when he said its used in mma.

  • The Andy Hug kick ;-)

  • I dont know, I find that a bit too dificult to perform and not enough powerful. Kicking above his head and then slapping him with your foot? Maybe with that shit on shoe, but otherwise no, thanks.

  • @iAnimeGuy

lol, there is not a technique that is better than another, every technique has it's own moment to be released.

  • Stupid kick. In a dire scenario where I would be forced to use martial arts, I would aim the tip of my foot right into his throat, or my heel right into his diaphragm, then get the hell out. You would need to be extremely tall, or your opponent extremely short in order to create enough downward momentum to make this kick remotely effective. Yes, its part of the martial art, and no everything as as useful as everything else, but christ, its for TV, pick something a little better!

  • @vvbn7890 are you kidding me? Im like 5.8 ft tall and I delivered that kick to someone who is over 6 ft, yes i know sometimes the kick to the babymaker is more effective, but dont judge thesse moves with height differences

  • @moneyparade Do explain.. If what youre saying is true, your foot would have to be at least 5 inches above the top of your head to even touch the guys face - and then at that point you would need to be able to generate enough force from probably less than 5 inches worth of acceleration space to generate enough force to hurt a guy. Again, this kick is not very effective in a real combat scenario - with your foot up so high, you can easily get off balanced and taken to the ground.

  • @vvbn7890 No, the axe kick is extremely fast, almost as fast as a Wing Chun masters punch speed. Also when your in a close up situation, you would kick the face as you bring your foot up, or hit the guys stomach. This kick is effective and used and kickboxing and MMA

  • @moneyparade lol im all for the axe kick but are you seriously trying to say a kick, and of all the kicks an AXE KICK is faster than a wingchun punch? seriously?

  • I do this to toddlers

  • where is the dick

  • @1889naruto wait a minute why do you ask

  • This could be a nice move.... If i could even get my leg that high.

  • I was actually taught that I make the move first next to the opponent, you know, I swing it from next to the opponent to when it's above his head, then place it on his head actually. at kickboxing atleast

  • @075MYCITY yes head or shoulder. thats to learn form and also not to break there shoulder. people in clip forget to add that the weight of the leg is def noticeable even at slow speed/

  • Andy Hug is a boss... He used this move and had a lot of succes with it. Quiet rare to find a guy who uses this effectively.

  • This move is so stupid if you do it the way they show it here.

  • use this move when wearing golf shoes

  • All the example in the video does is rake the face with the toes, far more effective when using the heel on the clavicle or forehead but you'd be more prone to injury.

  • yeah... but aren't you gonna break your knee?

  • @GregTom2 You have to keep your knee slightly bent

  • @GregTom2 The only way that would happen is if a lot of force is applied to only the top of the knee, while the foot is held stuck. That never happens, and certainly not from this position.

It's not uncommon for a muscle or two in the back of the leg to hurt a little after such a strike because they got overstretched momentarily.

  • never mind they were only both black in an paused state in the first 2 secs of the vid -.-''....

  • just noticed its an black-black combo now instead of grey-black

  • Andy Hug !

  • Leaves you open for a roundhouse groin kick

  • Nelyo chagui is the key for victory.

    Salam.

  • it wiil be more powerful if you got dog shit on your shoes.

  • @xlp1021 you made me crack up dude

  • @xlp1021 haha true that xD but it was used effectively in combat sports by several athletes, look up highlight videos about andy hug for example.

  • @xlp1021 lol

  • The problem with this and many other Tae Kwon Do techniques is that they are easy to avoid (the opponent could have side-stepped it or just taken a step backwards for example) and can leave you in vulnerable positions if properly countered (in this case, the attacker is exposing his crotch, which is never a good idea)

  • When mastered, this kick is very effective. But of course you need to be very flexible. The keys to any martial art is:

    Control

    Accuracy

    Speed

    Power

  • Smell it, Smell it. NOW TAKE IT!

  • @LittleNelly815

    Hahaha, I love you.

  • @ambassadorofpain1 haha ty :D thats like the first thing that came up in my mind.

  • I do this all the time... As Whoarang in tekken 3...

  • @Macla003

    Hwoarang. :D

  • @Macla003 neeeeeeeerd

  • @Macla003 Heihachi Mishema does it too :)

  • @Macla003 It's Hwoarang. Get your Tekken straight! (^_^)

  • @1029Itachi right m8!

  • @drumbayer (^_^)

  • @Macla003 Its spelled "Hwoarang"

  • @thangQanime And pronounced WARANG. like in "arbotrary" not like in "anti"

  • @spritsengiggle Um what are you even talking about?

  • this reminds me about Andy Hug!

  • Many fighters in K-1 do this, but not so effective. Though they can point but did not knock their opponent.

  • mann thats a drop kick

  • lol im notthe flexable

  • push the back of the raised thigh, and poof, you're on the ground.

  • 0:08 Does my foot smells nice?

  • CCCCCCCCCCCCCOMBO BREAKER

  • Interesting

But why is this on the History Channel?

  • i prefer ass-kick...

  • Made infamous by non other than the late Andy Hug. ;-)

  • beginner and advance kicks dont exist, it just depends on the way you execute it, i can probably show you a front or round kick beginner and advanced, kicking has an insane about of variaty when you've been practicing for a long time

  • ANDY HUG! ANDY HUG! ANDYYYYY HUUUUUG!!!!

  • Anderson Silva vs Vitor Belfort

  • @peusou6nheu that's not the same kick, it was a front kick

  • Anderson Silva

  • Perhaps the reason the heel isn't used is b/c there's more friction with the foot so it'll cause more downward force. I don't think heel would do as much damage that high up as opposed to a lower target.

  • I would rather use this as a finishing strike after getting the opponent onto the knees. The damage can then be placed on the back, head or knee. It may kill the opponent, but my intention is to leave them literally broken since death is too good for those low life attackers who bring pain onto others for the fun of it

But if the opponent was the grey man, well... Yeah, I'll run

  • good thing I wont expect this move from a 200 pounds guy

  • ya aprendi a meterla en la cara

  • i go to tae kwon do, this kick is fucking useless, in a real fight, they'd be behind you , or at least dodge b4 you get them.

  • Andy Hug ;D

  • this kick sucks

  • this doesnt produce much pain to the reciever. the leg must be lifted straight up and straight down. startin from left or right (whichever ur comfortable with) and brought down in the middle

  • This would be correct if it the Silver Surfer's axe kick didn't just graze the nose. It's supposed to follow through! I have yet to see one Human Weapon episode where they actually know what their talking about!

  • Slow & gay hit, tae kwon do is for 8 year girls

  • @KKINGvsALL go humping someones leg in a real fight you gaydick

  • THIS SHOULD BE NAMED ''ANDY HUG KICK''

  • i can do this kcik easily trust me its waay easier then it looks

  • not a kick for self defense lol. i can lift my leg that high. and i know that alot of people could with some training. Nonethelss. If the ground is slightly slipery you will most likely fall :D if looks cool though.

  • uh yea have fun getting blocked with this technique. And your not gonna do too much damage with the bottom of your foot. What you need to do is slightly swing your leg outward when you axe kick. It will create more force and if you connect with the HEEL instead of the bottom of your foot, i garentee this kick will be a lot more lethal.

  • Martial artists can easily stretch there leg to above another human beings head, and if your not a martial artist why the hell would you try and axe kick someone in a fight?

Good representation of the kick, but personally think better to strike with the heel to the shoulder to dislocate the shoulder, or to knock an opponents guard down, opening up the face to a punch of elbow.

  • in freestyle karate, we hit with the heel on top of the head for axe kick

  • check out "Andy Hug" if you really think this kick is useless. definitely under used

  • what is this show called?

  • @TheJORPR777 the show is called Human Weapon.

  • @TheJORPR777 the show is called Human Weapon. Very good show if you are into martial arts.

  • i have to flexible enough to atleast kick to someones head lol which i am not

  • i have to flexible enough to atleast kick to someones head lol

  • I remember trying this about 10 years ago when i was young and foolish on some wooden ladders. It didn't end well for my knee cap or lower leg :P

  • umm how are we soppose to lift our legs up that high

  • @ass5ss1n stretching

  • @BoneBeast well alot of stretching

  • i love to do a fake axe kick to a side kick ... because any good martial artist will accelerate as soon as you start this kick

  • Is it naeryo chagi?
