But it by some miracle the case is heard it will send a message to colleges about their absurdly overpriced tuition rates with little to no return on student investment. At least 95 percent of the degrees that are offered are worthless to employers unless they are in technical fields or trades. The fact is most employers care about real skills and experience to back it up

MY father told me college is only good if you can go for free. Here in GA we have the Hope scholarships funded by the number/stats-illiterates that play the lotto. I have a Bachelor's in Management from Georgia State and the most I have made in the past 4.5 years is 13.75/hr. The scary part is that I'm a white guy with solid credit , work history and no criminal record. THAT IS THE NEW AMERICA FOR YOU!!!

@meinside99 I completely agree with you. The advice I would give college grads today for example is, if you go to grad school and you had to pay for it out of your own pocket, you've made a mistake. Most degrees have no place in today's economy, if you had to further your education during this recession, I would find a way to get it paid for, like with an assistantship or something.

@meinside99 About the new America thing, I have to battle to get past minorities (diversity purposes), married men or women (more likely to work harder because they have debt), and single women with children (have a kid to support, more likely to want to work). I've talked to some hiring managers, they get picky on who they hire. They would rather hire 1 of those 3 people for those reasons. So I guess I have to be non-white and poor with a kid out of wedlock to increase my chances.

I graduated from this college in August of '07 and couldn't get a job either...my GPA was 3.5, I think, and I couldn't get shit moving!

It was and still is difficult to find a job. I went for Hospitality Management, Associates Degree and didn't get shit when I graduated. I wanted to get my foot in the door, then return to school from there.

So, I think colleges should just come out of the closet and be honest with ppl. instead of running the place like a business profit making company.

I am a student at Monroe College and just graduated with my Associates while persuing my bachellors... I am also on the SIFE team. In the past two years I have been able to obtain 3 jobs through the Job fairs the Monroe College Office of Career Advancement has offered and I can proudly say that if I am not working at this minute is not because I cant find a job. Its because I choose not to... some of the companies I had the pleasure of working with are dying to have me working again with them.

@Witchy1976, It's all about networking and learning how to market yourself. I've been a good net-worker and have been able to better myself with time and what better place to do it than a job fair. I'm able to thank God for giving me the grace and ability to network with tons of people that later on turn to be my best friends. The CEO of Bellisio Foods, Joel Conner, the CEO of Campbell Doug Connant, and some executives from companies like Kraft Foods are my friends and mentors in the biz world
