  • where the fuck.did. you go esco???

  • @extremebigmeal sotnhacked dot wordpress dot c o m

  • good to see the "never used" (except with duplicator) projectile weapons of the game!

  • Explodes into flames..

  • Is it possible you can make Richter and Alucard use their subweapons differently, if you're not already doing that? Like have Richter's subs function like they did in Dracula X, like three daggers, spiraling bible, travelling holy water (don't remember if that was actually in the game), etc. Is that possible at all? And what about the weird ass stopwatch crash that attacks enemies?

  • what's the progress so far?

looked at the forums, but there wasnt anything "new"...

  • I have no idea how to download this hack or how to get it to work. Please help me.

  • EAR RAPE!!!!

  • Wow, really impressive work. He actually looks like he poses a challenge now.

  • amazing!! xD

  • How much HP do all these bosses have in their hacked states?

  • this is awesome!

  • wow ffing epic please review my comment in your Slogra and Gaibon Demo

  • Whoaa, nice, you actually made this guy into a BOSS.

  • love the blocks rain!!! soooo classic! well done!

  • SOTN is easily one of my favorite games. I've beaten it about 6 times or more..I just wish there was a hard mode in the original. I mean this boss in the original version (just like every other boss) is so damn easy. You can kill him without weapons and armor. You could probably kill him with a blindfold on lol. With weapons it's like, walk forward and press square..you win..... on the other hand, this modified version looks absolutely stunning. Excellent job so far, keep up the good work!

  • Even though you made this boss alot harder, you made it look easy.

Hey, if you haven't done Medusa yet, I got some ideas for her. Instead of hesitating, then shooting one stone beam, she could shoot, say, six without hesitating. Also she could move faster. ...but that's a given. Now, when she holds up her shield, she is completely invulnurable to all atacks. And also, istead of stabbing straight, she could swing her sword vetically to that position while moving forward.

  • It would making ducking alot less cheap. Let's see... other ideas... Hmmm... how about attacking after flinching, that would be a nice touch. As for the pallet, well, personally, I think it should be green, like most renditions of Medusa. That's all the ideas I have for her.

Also great job on Franks Creation. Now that's what I call the Frank-Man in his prime.

One more thing, where did you get that projectile weapon? I never saw one of those in this game.

  • That's the javelin.

  • mmm, so you are eso

i want a demo of this game, where richter can do extra moves

    even if its "outdated"

    please

  • Esco1979, Konami should just hire you now bro.

  • do you only hack bosses, or also the levels??

  • I really like you version and I agree with

Xskulled I try not to use the cheap ways ,but there aren't any other ways on most the bosses because they have so few attacks and HP that any weapon Icebrand and up and any armor past Spike Breaker (estimate) kinda makes Alucard a god against any boss except Galamoth. I enjoy fighting him because with my Mourneblade (favorite ^_^) I can't easily wastoid him and my Agnea doesn't either!

  • Thanks for making Alucard look just as bad ass as i do. When i fight a boss, i try NOT to kill it in the cheap / easy ways, even though with your Hacked boss that may be impossible. Good job on it, im sure i could take him though ^_^

  • Whoa....Now THIS guy is a challenge. I'd love to tangle with this dude. Preferably with a handicap. XD

  • SotN was very good. And you're making it epic.

    Release dates are sucky.

  • Sorry if this is a dumb question,

But Is there a place I could download this mod if it is done?

    It looks awesome!

  • nice

  • Wow, I just finished watching all of your videos and Im impressed. I wish Konami would have had your mindset when they made SotN originally. SotN's Bosses were a joke, but your versions of them actually look challenging/fun. To actually see strategy needed to defeat bosses is a beautiful thing as aposed to walking up to them and pressing the attack button until they die.

The demoes from the librarian even show the developers beating the bosses in cheap/easy ways.

    What were they thinking?

  • GOOD NEWS: the blocks now have their own gfx, the room has been redesigned.... AND the creature now has his lightning attack from POR as well.

  • Also... when he uses his blocks attack, it shakes the screen more for longer... so if he is out of view you KNOW blocks will be coming down.

  • Hello ^^ i really like your work here, and are you going to release a demo or the full Hack in the future ?

  • very good as always. i love the flashing red feature as well. congratz on programming things that r that hard, i wouldent have the patience. keep up the good work

  • SOTN = simphony of the night. for psp? play station 2? nintendo DS?

  • Playstation 1.

  • It's for epsxe ONLY for now. The emulator for the ps1. I may have someone do a conversion for some other psx emulators but I should PROBABLY finish it first. ;)

  • Amazing work; keep it up. I think the red flashing is good in a way because it tells you he's near death. I think that's too much HP to give him though. Strange how the battle seems so much longer to me (like 10 min). Time goes by slower when your adrenaline is pumping.

  • He seems much harder and better now, except for all that red flashing towards the end.

  • nice spear lol this ver. of the fight would've made the creature less of a pushover... it actually looked like a bit of a challenge

  • u should've been employed by konami, THAT WAY I WOULD'VE HAD A FIGHTING CHANCE TO SEE DRACULA X ON PS2 AND SAVED OVER $250. NOW I HAVE TO BUY A PROGESSIVE SCAN HDTV TO PLAY MY PSP ON A LARGE SCREEN!!!!

  • how did u record it?

  • He probably used ePSXe emulator itself to record it.

  • Nope, he used snag-it to record the game off epsxe. Notice the menu at the beginning of the video. It's from snag-it.

  • Oh, thank you :D

  • That's an absolutely amazing feat of ASM, Esco. This is the kind of treatment SOTN has deserved since its original release.

I can't wait to see more of it ^^.

  • Esco asked me to post this:

NO I haven't. The myspace topic was outdated, and the forums had an error that deleted a LOT of topics including mine. I have to repost it in the new forums. Please post my reply on both my SOTN hacked videos. Later. :)

  • i know i should be impresed more by the work of your mod, but damn you play so good that i was like stunned

  • Damn, Esco, you're really amazing. I thought your Slogra/Gaibon hack was already impressive, but here, not only you changed Frank's AI, you also added attacks!!

  • Nice hack man.. also... LOL @ SPEARS

  • DEAR GOD! That's a lot of HP that The Creature has.

  • I know this sounds corny, but the new additions to the boss gave me goosebumps! Great job!

  • This looks like it will be the best hack ever. I can't wait for the release.

  • @Jigglysaint Damn this guy said this 3 years ago!? Im going to have my body cryogenically frozen if I hope to see this released:P

  • @MsGhoulz yeah lol

  • Whoa, looks like the Creature decided to add onto himself. :)

nice fight...but be careful when fighting other bosses. You really don't want to get pwned. :p

  • OMFG Esco. It's looking fucking amazing! Franky's not so much of a pushover anymore. :P

It's nice you're on here now. I frequent this place more than any others nowadays.

  • BTW, the almost dead flashing red is a nice edition. Thanks for the vid.

  • I love the flashing red - classic Konami.

  • Glad you guys like it... that's EXACTLY what I was going for! The old school, arcade effect! :)

  • It's fabolous!!

What about the famous "unused items"? Including "Godspeed Boots"? Is also possible to add some rooms of the "Underground garden" unfinished area?

Thanks for your brilliant hack Esco!! It reminds me of the Chrono Trigger's snes editor in the first steps! Maybe in the future it will be possible to see an editor? Thanks again!

  • It is possible to add new rooms... but then again almost anything is possible. But I don't know how to do it, nor do I intend to try.

As for new items, check the havoc forums link under my notes on the left. My updates are all there.

  • almost got your ass handed to ya esco XD

  • Magnificent!

The difficulty level is ramped up considerably!

  • AWESOME! You did great work!

  • See the notes under my name for comments on this guy and any release info. Enjoy. :)
