aha!!! so here Alexander Scriabin injured his right hand practicing this and also practising the most difficult piece (islamey) with franz liszt!! no doubt :)
Everyone knows that this piece was written in honor of Mozart right? Reminiscenes de Don Juan Mozart. The theme used from 3:45 is from Mozart's opera Don Giovanni.
Thats absolutely preposterous. At 8.5 minutes, thats about 2000 notes per minute or about 33 notes per second. Even if the whole piece were composed of four fingered chords, she'd have to be playing four per hand per second. Check your sources and come back.
@FranciscoRivera777 i know exactly how you feel... except i only play the piano. im only fifteen but i've for almost ten years, and i can guarantee you it will take me another ten years to learn this!! i doubt i'll even have time then, with college and such.
Thats got to be the best piano oin the world... It sounds fabolous! and you play even better, i am a hungarian myself and you are franc liszt number 2.. the female version! :P
Try changing your diet. There are certain things you can do to improve the energy output of your body and your concentration. Eating blueberries regurlarly (I like dried blueberries) will increase micro-cirulation, take a high dose of B-complex vitamins, try cordycept mushroom powder with green tea. Eat, or juice (preferably), broccoli, kale, purple cabbage, beets, and carrots. You have to increase the energy output of your cells. This will help greatly in your effort.
Pathetic............, I practice and practice and practice the piano, but no matter how much i practice i cannot get anywhere close to having a technique to play this piece..., it seems i am only proficient in playing the Classical Guitar......, i feel like giving up the piano........., but, oh well i have a whole life to live.........., after all a 17 year older like me cant get so virtuosic in the piano............, good job Valentina!!!!!!!!
@FranciscoRivera777 Addendum: Noting that the piece is not very well-written, making it sound nice does take more skill on the part of the performer--which Lisitsa clearly has.
Mozart's "La ci darem la mano" theme is so brilliant. the way it was arranged/played here reminds of Disney movie songs (a good thing), especially the part at 6:10
@MANEBIVO this is pathetic- are you seriously listening to such a magnificent piece played incredibly and saying the showy and all TV favorite "Lang Lang" is better. Piano is for the the ears not the eyes. No matter how much one moves sound should be clear, an essence lost with Lang Lang- I say that she is the next Horowitz. Fantastic performance!
Saying that Valentina is quite a talent would certainly be a gross understatement; she plays with an ease and abandon that is breathtaking. Even the hardest passages flow. Watching her fingers literally "float" around the keyboard is sheer pleasure... and absolutely mesmerizing.
Valentina has the most elegant long hands; they rise and fall so gracefully they remind me of two swans floating up and down on thermals high in the heavens.
I've bought both her Black and Pink and Schwanengesang DVDs. Highy recommended!
I completely admire her acurracy---She plays the style like Horowitz, which is incomparable to Lang Lang's style---and he can not play as accurately and clearly as this lady-- and I believe that she is at a much higher standing- perhaps not the "showy and fancy" performer, but possesses true talent. Just listen- you can hear every note like a raindrop- so she doesn't need to cover it up all with pedal. Wonderful performance!--one of my favorite pieces ever!
A Staggering Pianistic Accomplishment !!! Unfortunately the Musicality That I Know She Possesses Suffers to Keep up That Frantic Intensity - its a Tough Tradeoff - Lang Lang Tries to Do it but Starts Hitting Too Many Bad Notes and Making Stuff Up. I Think Valentina Has Climbed to the Third Best I've Ever Heard Only Surpassed by Evgeny Kissin and Marc Andre Hamelin - and Not to Mention She Is a Lot Easier on the Eyes than Those Two. Keep Going Valentina but Watch out Aimi Kobayashi Is Coming.
I like Lang Lang's version. The intro on this one was too quiet, I think it should be louder. But the middle section on this on was beautifully played. However, this interpretation is a little too quiet for my taste. Please don't start a flamewar, we all have our own opinions. I know how you youtubers react to opinions.
English action and Viennese actions were found in early nineteenth century forte pianos, but forte pianos have long been obsolete, succeeded by modern pianos with cast iron frames. Neither Steinway nor Bosendorfer ever made forte pianos.
SOmber introduction!!! One can barely see the Comendatore returning from the dead coming through the strings of the piano!!!! Thank you very much, Lisitsa!
Valentina was born into a family of non-musicians in Kiev, Ukraine. She started playing piano at the age of three, performing her first solo recital only a year later. Despite her early disposition to music, her dream at that point was to become a professional chess player. She attended the Lysenko music school for Gifted Children and, later, Kiev Conservatory, where she eventually met her future husband, Alexei Kuznetsoff. It was when she met him that she began to take music more seriously
I'm glad she went down the piano route :) Started at 3, solo recital after 1 year ?? I have received an attention span of max 2 minutes on a few simple counting exercises from a kid of that age ! Amazing.
