BTW, I checked out Stryper back in Nov 2009, and the way Robert plays this one is a little different now... he puts in a lot more double bass around in some sections around the 2:43 and 3:06 sounds heavy as hell!!
Dude,,,along with you playing right on the money,,,,your mix is great. So many people post stuff on here and you cant hear them or the cd is over powering the recording. Your drums a just touch higher than the cd,,,,but thats what you want. To just hear the cd and you,,,,,,what is the volume mix you have set for the recordings?
Thank you! It's really hard to say what the volume setting is. It's different with each video because of how loud I actually played, the loudness of the original track and put those factors together and it makes many possibilities on the mix. Basically, I just listen to the mix and fine tune it until I am satisfied. Sometimes, as with this video, I take the audio from the video and import it into Audacity, compress and eq it and then add the backing track to it.
FullFOrce: If I ever caught a rim on a drum video I'd just redo it. Rim shots r unacceptable. That's all I'm saying. My bridge is the best by the way.
Thanks man! You should not have quit. You may regret it someday. Do it to gain knowledge and broaden your mind if not for that, do it for fun. Drumming is some of the most fun I've had all my life.
I really don't know because it was purchased over many many years. If you were to go buy a Pearl Masters Premium Birch, it would cost you between $3500-4000 for the shells, another $1000 or so for the hardware and cymbals would run you, well, I'm not sure, you can find that out by shopping current 2002, Signature and Alpha cymbal prices.
the double bass dosent have as clean of a glide as two seperate single pedals.... some ppl are really anal about how responsive a pedal is and perfer two single pedals
Well, if you check ALL of my other videos, you'll notice I use a double pedal on a single kick. There is a pretty big difference between the two. Two kicks gives you that bottom end on the left side of you. Double pedals (most of them) have some drag that you get used to. It's really just a matter of preference and what you can afford.
I also want a drum kit at my home, but I can't have one because of the loud sound it makes, I don't really want an electric drumkit because I don't like it's sounds..
I actually started with two kick drums way back in the late 80's when I got a new kit for my birthday, I combined the two kits and started playing double bass. Then I went to a double pedal and never looked back. I've had these two kicks for a long time and I just decided to put them back together again.
No. That is a 2000 Series 16" Mellow China on the bottom with a cut down Sound Formula 16" Full Crash, now 13.75". There's a 6" Accent cymbal on top of all of that.
Awesome as always Glen! Have you tried any of the new Stryper yet? Learn 4 Leaf clover and I will record the guitar and maybe we can have a compilation video.
No, I haven't really listened to it yet. I like the music but I have a little bit of an issue that Rob did not play on it, for whatever reason, I understand that but to me it just isn't the same. I will probably feel differently about it after I see them on tour this year and see Rob playing them.
I didnt even listen to Stryper yet but i said to myself '' hey if gspot27 covers it it must be good.. '' i gave it a go and i think it sounds like Iron maiden , ive saw them live and it was good so i like stryper now :D
I did get another splash and the cup chime, and visions cup chime. The other kick drum was not being used. I customized my rack so that I could fit them both under the front of the rack.
Damn it looks so fun to play like u rofl im a beginner at drumming and sometime when i just realise a nice fill im feeling so good lol and u do like.. all ur songs perfectly or almost :O
You did it again mate- boy i wish i could have /or play on a drumset like yours..that would be a dream for me. keep posting those movies! always fun to watch'
Would be a dream for any1.. I mean for those that don,t already have talent and a kit like that :) But i bet if id have all that talent id buy one like this too :)

have no drag?

Yes! It has no drag. I've tested it out and it is an amazing pedal. But it's still not the same feeling and sound of two kick drums. Trust me.
