Excuse my ignorance, but why do you have to change hands on rod after casting?

I use fixed spool reels left hand retrieve, and you dont have to worry about that, and also my stronger right arm is pumping the rod, not my weaker left arm as seems the case with 99% of multiplier reels?

Beutiful cast. I would like to see the cast with a camera trained on the reel to see the thumb action as line comes off the spool. Or is your cast so smooth you don't have to use your thumb after release?!

I owned two Metalite rods around 1994 my mate also had a pair.Very good FISHING rods as opposed to super stiff tournement rods which were around at the time. In the early 90's the high swing Pendulum was the most common style.You don't see it as often now,the arcs seem to be much lower but more effective. I learnt the the Jonh Holden way(high swing)often getting my mate to watch me then look at the book to see if i was doing it right .That was in the 80's ah...memories!

richard is not only able to give sound advice on casting plus free lessons, all aspects of fishing ,reels ,rods ,line are available to any fisherman who would just ask ,good sound advice from a person who does go fishing.

Give him a ring, any angler who wants to improve casting or fishing wont be disappointed ,friendly atmosphere with beach close to shop for casting lesson all are welcome

Its a high swing pendulum! A horribly awkward cast,but as you can see it did go a long way!

As for the Metalite rods, think ive only ever seen one on the beach.
