I get the ocular kind without head pain, but they can cause me vertigo and sensations of being lightheaded. Then I start to get weird thoughts and my head buzzes like it's full of bees. Sometimes I feel euphoric shortly before or during. It's bizarre!
Uuuh i had this a few hrs ago and i work night shifts alone in a hotel.. Was horrible and had to speak to and help out drunken guests while it all was going on, could hardly see anything.. Very akward.... Now the headache is here, but luckily back in bed... Hopefully it passes while i'm asleep :(
I have frequent ocular migraines / aural migraines. I lose half of my vision, and see a beautiful display of colors in a tight zigzag pattern in a large crescent moon shape, that grows until I have to shut my eyes. When driving I stop if this happens, and if I'm in a sunny place, I can become affixed on light and start slipping into a epileptic state, luckily I'm aware this is happening and can shut my eyes before I start tripping.
it doesnt look like that , It's similar to the flash you get after a photo is taken .. When your blinking theres a blind spot. Called the focus area .. That is the warning when you get one. Then The most severe thudding at the back of your skull occurs . Then ur whole day is fuked cause ur going ot have that headache for the next day TO .. THAT ISSSSS WHAT A MIGRAINE LOOKS LIKE >> SO IMAGINE THAT FUKING!!!! ...
@Fightsimdude111 migraines have visual disruptions that usually in most cases worn people or inform them when it's coming. Usually it starts with the visual stuff, and from then on becomes a headache that feels like someone is staging you from inside your brain, neck, and sometimes shoulders. Migraines are very painful to anwer your comment... " to tell the truth, I've never had a migraine. What exactly do you mean by this is what it 'looks like?' don't you feel them.
I don't see anything like this, but I do have visual disturbances. They're usually limited to wavy lines that either resemble heat waves or the Moiré pattern you get on TV when someone wears a houndstooth jacket.
@willij08 Maybe you have what I have, scentillating scotoma, which is a form of migraine where you often get crescent shapes of blur in your field of vision. Search for "Migraine Aura Simulation" to get an example of it.
This is almost exactly what I saw the other night. I thought I was having a stroke because I've never experienced anything like it before. The star shapes and the shimmering holographic type visuals covered my entire field of vision. A loud ringing in my ears started at the same time. Anyone else had the ringing in the ears during one of these?
Mine just looks like a pixelated bad DVD right in the center of my field of view and I can't focus on anything. It lasts about 30 minutes. Not always a headache after.
sometimes i see green shapes, other times i see little white spots floating around in the air then it goes away and i get a migraine long after or a day after or so. If people actually see what's in this video..damn! I'm glad i dont see that shit!
I have one right now..but mine don't look like that..they look more like how it looks when you look at a light and then look away and there's a blind spot
I see the sparkles sometimes. I call them "lacy lights". But I see those even if I don't have a headache. @threadedBinary thanks for explaining that what the meds do.
@madmc98 I don't see this type of pattern either. Migraine auras are different for everyone. I usually see iridescent zig-zag patterns that evolve over time and spread outward, but that's not the only type.
@jarblewarble Man.. I see the same as you.. A few days ago i got an aura with green color. and one time it looked like a crecent moon that grew and grew untill fainally it was gone but a migraine kicked in... and belive it or not but im actually a kid.

i think i get migraine auras with that flashy things. starts in the bottom left field view then works its way up the side and blocks most of the left vision field.also before i start getting the flashing sensation i lose the front part of my view. as in i couldnt read a book ide have to look away from it to see the words and lasts around 40 minutes to an hour. but its never followed by headache even before it start.does this sound like a migraine or something worse thats unrelated to a migraine?

The one time my migraine came with an aura, I almost vomited from the agony. Spent the rest of the day with an icepack glued to my head lol. Most of the time it's just this agonizing jackhammer to the side of the head, right into the brain and down towards the neck.
I get a version of this but the other symptoms are alot worse. I get pins and needles that move from my fingertips up my arm and to my face. Sometimes I can't say certain words either. Last time that happened I was using the word 'steep' intead of 'sleep'. I was so scared, I thought i was having a stroke. I kept saying to my girlfriend 'I need to go home and steep', then I said 'OMG!, whats the word when you go to bed and close your eyes?' then as soon as she said the word, I could say it again!
Fuck me I feel like someone LITERALY is taking a hammer and beating the back of my skull right now... Fuck I need help, my shoulder blade and neck have been hurting recently, hurts
I had one yesterday that I thought was going to kill me. I saw what looked like the corona around the sun when there's a solar eclipse. I only get several a year now, I used to get several a week. It's important to find out what your triggers are.
i would have no problem saying that migraines shouldn't even exist. they are fucking terrible and they serve no purpose to mankind lol. migraines are like an act of Satan.
like past comments mine isnt that much of a pattern but more like this dark fuz moving towards the middle of my eye untill im temperaraly blind with darkness with my eyes openand then once my eyes start to recover its like a needle stabbing through the back of my eyes who else has this experience???
I get migraines very frequently and you never see anything close to this. Just a heavy pain in either your eyes or temple. The smallest bit of sound can make it worse, they aren't fun.
..last week at school i got one and i remember trying to read the words 1 foot away from my face and not being able to see ANY of them
.. i later found myself in the nurses office, in COMPLETE pain (it feels like you have something INSIDE your head, right behind your eye, which seems to be trying to literally PUSH your eye out)
usually when i get them i lose track of time and the last time it happened, i ended up in a feedle position rocking back and forth while holding my temples.. crazy huh?
There aren't that many "twinkles" in mine, just the big colorful blind spot. Zigzag, rainbow lightning. That describes it best. And then, about 2/3rds after that happens, watch out! The pain is like nothing else you've ever felt. Zacharycarney is right, like knives in both eyes. The pain also moves around from one place to another. Intense! The only thing that works for me is Vicodin. Thank God for drugs!
@artistkeith3 really? vicodin? i have had ~30 migrains in the past few months, sometimes i get 3-4 aura attacks in one day.... i wish i could find a med that helps...
@matthias2986 With that many a day, not sure V would be a good drug for you, it is extremely addicting and very bad for your liver. I only get aura migraine every 2 or 3 months, so getting addicted is not a concern. Cut out all caffeine, red wine, sugar and chocolate and see what happens for a week, if possible.
my aura is little sparks that crackle. sometimes i get one that looks like a fortress almost. but i don't get an aura every time. i have a migraine right now, but i've taken some meds, so my head hurts, but not like it did a couple of hours ago. i actually took off my sunglasses. i didn't get an aura this time.
Thats nothing like a migraine headache, its far to magical and happy.. for me it is like having a large grey and prickly slug thats having a seisure being pushed against my brain with a great ammount of pressure... *shudder* i hate headaches.
Mine don't look like that. I wish they did. Mine are just this annoying visual distortion, sort of like a blind spot. Then a lot of pain and vomiting.
Exactly, when I use to get migraines I would get that blurr on either side of my eyes. Ugh...to me, the closest thing I can compare it to, is the alien in predetor, when he turns invisible or camo? idk but you can see whatever is behind kind of being blurred it reminds me of them...I'm so glad I out grew them...And sex can actually cure them....:) Yay!!!
I have 30 minute migraines about once every 6 months, but I had 2 in the past month because of increased emotional stimuli and lack of sleep.
This video is actually a pretty good impression of the aura, but with mine, I can still make out the basic shape of things (even though some chunks are missing from my view) and I can read words one letter at a time if I focus hard enough.
I get them every couple of days for around 2 weeks every 2 -3 years. They only happen in the winter months late morning/early afternoon. I think they must triggered by weather change or atmospheric pressure. I hate them!!!
Sometimes when I get migranes, I'll be laying in bed awake and think I'm somewhere else and just tossing and turning and writhing in pain and saying stuff like, "ughhhh I can't stand this I need to go home!"
When i used to get them i would have a tunnel vision effect. I could only see what i was staring directly at. Everything else was black. As if i were in a pitch black room with a flashlight. Where ever the flashlight was pointing, that was all i could see.
Sooo glad i don't get them anymore. I barely even get headaches anymore. I wonder if i grew out of them or what? Because i got them for sooo many years as a kid. Ranging from like, 6 to 16ish. Then they up'n vanish.
I get like a jellyfish that pulsates across my left eye only, blocking the field of vision almost completely at times. When it first started happening, I didn't get the headache along with it, so technically, I was only getting an ocular migraine. I don't always get this visual aura to warn me, but am grateful when I do, so I can take steps to lie down and turn off the light if possible. I sometimes also smell something like rancid grease before I get a migraine that nobody else can smell.
I was in the hospital yesterday due to a migraine.
I find the best bet is to chew a couple strong pills, like a muscle relaxer. I have tried a lot of migraine medications but I prefer Perkasettes [sic] or Flexerol. I sometimes wear an eye-patch or a sleep-mask... I hate migraines.
It's been years but I've had a headache for 3 days and just now I got the shimmering zig zag line at the corner of my eye. Starts in the corner and makes it's way half way cross my eye. Lasted 10 minutes. Kinda freaky.
Yep!! Now have someone scream in you ear, stab a knife in one or both eyes. vomit, and wish to pass out or die. This will go on for days or months! I'm going to see Dr. Guyron in Cleveland soon for migraine surgery. Please pray for me.
@zacharycarney They have a surgery for it ? I've suffered for 40 yrs now from migraines since I was 4 yrs old. Loud noises, certain odors, peanuts and bright jumpy lights and pictures make me want to close my eyes and die.
Nope, not quite that bad, but I do get sparkles swimming all over my field of vision. Sometimes it's like a snowstorm of light. That's BEFORE the migraine. It goes away when the headache hits, but I'm like Dracula on a day pass when it comes to dealing with light. Kinda looks like my funny video I did.
Why are so many of these migraine related videos down, and why are there so few of them? This is of concern to me. Please post more migraine related material, or re-post this video so that it can be watched by the public. It's important to have as much information out there in view as possible. Thank you !
@makasheli they start out so small your like "was that an arua????" i get paranoid sometimes like at work i think i see one starting im like "shit shit shit...was that an arua???" and then take a shit ton of excedrin migraine... idky takeing excedrin migraine is like parking your car in the path of a speeding train and expecting it to stop the train... BLEH hate migrains...
Very good depiction; I have the same effect w/my migraines.. Go blind in one eye and sometimes paralyzed on one side; have to go to the ER every time. Imitrex/Relpax don't work. I take Amytriptyline every night (20 mgs) to prevent migraines; haven't had one sinch March....
i get migraines but i have never seen spots in my vision. though if they get painful enough my eyes, or mostly eye as the pain is usually in one eye, become light sensitive
i was always woundering what that was its called an aura, it sucks cause i go about 95-100% blind for about 40 minutes. then comes the pain and nausea. its probably one of the most unpleasant thing EVER!!!!!!!
i agree thomas sex helps me too i believe it the orgasm affect i mean we better not say no not tonight babe i got a head ach or our lover will say well thats great u know what the dr says! lol
i have some like this but its a lot more subtle the what you see here, right as i am writing this i have a migrane and its bad i see a few flashes on my outside vision
I feel sorry for those who get this reaction to a migraine. At best though I lose the side vision. At it's worse I get what I can only describe as black and white fuzz - the screen you get when tuning a tv or a wrong channel *not on modern tv's or cable*
Pain killers sometimes stop the pain, but they don't get rid of the stomach and disorientation problems. Strangely sex helps me out a lot.
Actually, it's not bull. Unfortunately, I began getting them around age 9. It starts with a blind spot, & then looks like triangular streaks of kaledioscopic colors in stages of blue & red, and yellow & green. It usually lasts about 30 minutes, & then the pain gets heavier. Although there are dietary (processed foods & others), as well nervous contributers (sinusitis, fatigue), to this form of eye spasm, my headaches were mostly brought on by hydrocephalus, which had to be treated with a shunt.
I get severe migraines, like by severe, I mean Emergency Room severe. I always throw up, get dizzy, and even 1 time, I passed out. The only cure for me, is sleep, or Excedrin Migraine.
me too =/ i have to mix excedrin, ibprofin and motrin together. if that doesnt work i go to the emergency room and they hook me up to an IV. it sucks =( im so sorry you get them too. <3
I've suffered for 30 years although they have lessened as i've got older. What does annoy me is the arrogance of people who don't get migraines, and trying to explain how painful an attack is. I'd sooner have a really bad hangover with a really bad head, than suffer a migraine. On the upside, i've had all the drugs and all the doses available prescribe, none of which worked. I was out the other day had no medication with me so went and bough some max stength Anadin liqui caps and they worked.
migraines can be triggered by food...next time you have a migraine headache, throw up the food you ate before and pay attention to what you eat..almost instantly my migraine goes away.
yes, i do. but it's not like this. it's just really painful and disorienting. it's almost like closing and opening your eyes over and over. only you see weird colors.
My aura looks similar to when you have been in a highly chlorinated pool for too long and you get that hazey look to things,Sort of like a photograph taken through screen and points of light seem to get a star or blur around them,I have the dark spots also .I am embarressed that the wife had to witness a full blown migraine the other day ,My mother used to have them and i would think from the way she acted that she must be faking ,Noone could actually hurt that bad .Well.. now i know .
same , i have mine for about 6 hours per one a month due to hormones and it seems food. Everytime I puke after drinking about 3 pints of water I tend to feel alot better =D
this is exactly what happens to me about once a month now, good recreation, btw not overkill, you just dont get them like this

This reminds me of my first few marijuana highs. Twinkling spots around the edges of all the objects and a fish-eye lens.

I get migraines very frequently and you never see anything close to this. Just a heavy pain in either your eyes or temple. The smallest bit of sound can make it worse, they aren't fun.

EVERYONE READ::: A FEW WAYS TO REDUCE THE PAIN ON THE SPOT!!!
1.) Drink LOTS of caffiene, it helps relax the abnormal constriction of the blood vessels
2.) Take a HOT shower and let the water run on your face
3.) Take migraine exederin
sguitarplaya07 1 year ago
..last week at school i got one and i remember trying to read the words 1 foot away from my face and not being able to see ANY of them
.. i later found myself in the nurses office, in COMPLETE pain (it feels like you have something INSIDE your head, right behind your eye, which seems to be trying to literally PUSH your eye out)
usually when i get them i lose track of time and the last time it happened, i ended up in a feedle position rocking back and forth while holding my temples.. crazy huh?
sguitarplaya07 1 year ago
@sguitarplaya07 it's "fetal". from "fetus"? feedle? seriously? seriously??

There aren't that many "twinkles" in mine, just the big colorful blind spot. Zigzag, rainbow lightning. That describes it best. And then, about 2/3rds after that happens, watch out! The pain is like nothing else you've ever felt. Zacharycarney is right, like knives in both eyes. The pain also moves around from one place to another. Intense! The only thing that works for me is Vicodin. Thank God for drugs!
artistkeith3 1 year ago
@artistkeith3 really? vicodin? i have had ~30 migrains in the past few months, sometimes i get 3-4 aura attacks in one day.... i wish i could find a med that helps...
matthias2986 1 year ago
@matthias2986 With that many a day, not sure V would be a good drug for you, it is extremely addicting and very bad for your liver. I only get aura migraine every 2 or 3 months, so getting addicted is not a concern. Cut out all caffeine, red wine, sugar and chocolate and see what happens for a week, if possible.
artistkeith3 1 year ago
my aura is little sparks that crackle. sometimes i get one that looks like a fortress almost. but i don't get an aura every time. i have a migraine right now, but i've taken some meds, so my head hurts, but not like it did a couple of hours ago. i actually took off my sunglasses. i didn't get an aura this time.

Mine don't look like that. I wish they did. Mine are just this annoying visual distortion, sort of like a blind spot. Then a lot of pain and vomiting.

Wow! i guess my migraine isnt bad yet. i thought my migraine is bad enough, but seeing this is more worst!
EmoDummieLoser 1 year ago
Exactly, when I use to get migraines I would get that blurr on either side of my eyes. Ugh...to me, the closest thing I can compare it to, is the alien in predetor, when he turns invisible or camo? idk but you can see whatever is behind kind of being blurred it reminds me of them...I'm so glad I out grew them...And sex can actually cure them....:) Yay!!!
09Shaneil 1 year ago
In the middle of a migrane first one in ten years, use to get them all the time it's the worst in the world.
celicagirls 1 year ago
I have 30 minute migraines about once every 6 months, but I had 2 in the past month because of increased emotional stimuli and lack of sleep.
This video is actually a pretty good impression of the aura, but with mine, I can still make out the basic shape of things (even though some chunks are missing from my view) and I can read words one letter at a time if I focus hard enough.

I get them every couple of days for around 2 weeks every 2 -3 years. They only happen in the winter months late morning/early afternoon. I think they must triggered by weather change or atmospheric pressure. I hate them!!!

I also can't take absolutley anything, I just end up throwing it up, so I have to suffer most of the time. Sometimes it goes away over night.

EmoDummieLoser 1 year ago

I hate migraines.

isisncasey 1 year ago
Nope, not quite that bad, but I do get sparkles swimming all over my field of vision. Sometimes it's like a snowstorm of light. That's BEFORE the migraine. It goes away when the headache hits, but I'm like Dracula on a day pass when it comes to dealing with light. Kinda looks like my funny video I did.
vaasnaad 2 years ago
Why are so many of these migraine related videos down, and why are there so few of them? This is of concern to me. Please post more migraine related material, or re-post this video so that it can be watched by the public. It's important to have as much information out there in view as possible. Thank you !

ThomasLeica 2 years ago
this is bullshit all you get is a blur on the side of the eye you can still see but not on the side its on
HardStyleProduction 2 years ago

The only cure for me, is sleep, or Excedrin Migraine.
twistedmetalfreak121 2 years ago
me too =/ i have to mix excedrin, ibprofin and motrin together. if that doesnt work i go to the emergency room and they hook me up to an IV. it sucks =( im so sorry you get them too. <3

i usually see something similar to that, but just grays and bluish colours.. i wonder why it varies
geekman127 2 years ago
