i remeber there was a time when cartoon looked like GI joe first season in the 80's. I remember a time when cartoon really tried to as real as possible, but some where it got lost now every body wants to look like the batman animated series even the transformers.

But you really have to put it into a historical perspective. When these characters were envisioned America was a different place..it was a different time. Joe Simon created Capt. America in 1941. Think of the unfair disparity between the races at that time. I'm not condoning the racial ambivalence but I do understand it.

Some of the people I listed *are* major heroes, friend, with powers that meet or exceed those of others. Luke Cage is the leader of the New Avengers. The Black Panther is the king of Wakanda and a former member of the Avengers; Storm is his queen as well as a team leader of the X-Men. Patriot is as physically capable as Captain America was. War Machine is just as capable as Iron Man, if not more so at times. Blade is a member of MI-13 and the world's foremost vampire hunter.

Judging by this trailer it looks like this series will be a vast improvement over the horrible 90s cartoon. At least this one has actual first line-up avengers in it as opposed to the the 90s one which had all second tier characters. Plus this one has classic villians.

Of course there's no guarantee, but this looks like a winner so far.
