@sweetgem123 Thanks so much! It's very tranquil, and it JUST got a facelift with the addition of picture rail molding added about 6 inches below the top of the doors - all around the room. Then a basket-weave textured tan-ish grasscloth wallcovering was put up from the baseboards up to the molding. It added a warmer wrap to the room and a bit more "jewelry" to the walls.
@plutoplatters Two big reasons for the lack of "stuff" - this bedroom has been "staged" for resale, so the clutter has been removed; and this is a weekend home, so the couple's New York City apartment IS more cluttered and packed with stuff. Thanks so much for watching!
@plutoplatters I used to feel that way until I saw a movie -- a romance. The handsome single doctor's livingroom had nothing in it but a table and chair. It was quite a memorable setting ...soulful and thought-provoking in its bare starkness, causing me briefly to desire clarity and order of things. "What more could you want, other than a good book?" I wondered. I liked it, but then maybe it was the doctor. He himself was a work of art.
There's so much more that could have Bern said on this subject. From luxury sheets and towels to creating a calming oasis I'd try smoother camera work as well. Love the accent though!
Good question -- but the bed in this vid is NOT a platform style. It looks like it but the bed has upholstered sides with a spring mattress and box spring inside. It's a Beckley custom made (by hand) mattress with springs in both the mattress and box springs and traditional horsehair and cotton stuffing. Most commercial mattresses have all springs in the mattress and the box springs are just platforms! The Beckley costs about as much as the commercial brands but sleeps much better.
Thanks for the quick response. The fact that the bed looks like a platform does make it look classy. love the use of the frosted windows. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words! The upholstery is a woven fabric that has the look and feel of leather. Very cool, and the upholstered effect makes the bed look "finished" and eliminates the need for a dust ruffle. Have a great day, and thanks again for watching.
lol -- I think you've been watching the movie Psycho! The frosted glass helps us see if we've left the lights on in the walk-in closet or the master bathroom -- and we can dim the lights, and get a nice glow through the frosted windows if we don't want to turn on any other lights. Thanks for watching, and Happy New Year!

I think Feng Shui way will be having the bed head facing one of your best direction. Very nice design.

I'd like to know if the platform beds are comfortable to sleep in. They look nice but how is the sleep in one of them? Anybody?
