Great looking clock mate. I reckon the hardest part is the design. I can build anything, but designing em is a whole other level which you have achieved.
That is a really great design and tribute and amazing progress in 12 months! A clock a month? wow. It's incredible the amount of talented people out there, but you're up there mate. Like the use of your local woods(and coal!) too. Having looked at your other vids, I reckon the Clayton Boyer chap is thinking "hmmm what can I throw at the bugger next?" :) He's mad enough to come up with these great designs and you're mad enough to build them. Good mix. Long may you both continue.
Thanks. We Ozzies tend not to take our selves too seriously .... Deep down, I think I'm smarter and better at everything than just about everyone else !
Nope you're no stupid aussi you got me convinced that I can make a clock myself. I started working with wood recently when we needed a rabit cage. See my vid. its in dutch sorry. And my lego ecapment. That I build after seeing you're video's. I'm creating a clock all by myself in autocad student ed. and want to build it out of wood as soon as the drawings are ready. Than hope it will tik. And eventually after lots of adjustments tell me the right time. Till then i look at a ugly quarts. Thanks
For running time you can calculate the size of one winding. Calculate on what axle it is. Then Calculate how mutch time each wind will give. For example. When the wind is on the minute axle each wind gives one hour. So 24 winds is one day. A smaller wheel can take more winds but gives less driving power. A thing that you can do is make smaller winding wheel and increase the pulling weight. Buth only if the axles can carry more weight. I've added this. Just for people figuring out running time.
im 13 and i was wundering is there a tutorial with a pdf for one of thes like to teach u how to make one cuz i dont got a job or money and i was wondering if there was a pdf for it thanks i dosent have to be a clock from that site just one that show me how to make a basick wooden clock
Sorry, there are no "free" plans available. You can view my "So you want to make a wooden clock" video to get an idea of what is involved in making them and what tools you would need.
You can purchase clock plans from Clayton Boyer. I live in Australia and his plans cost about $35 Australian to buy.
My "hard time" clock is a one-off and the plans I drew for it are not good enough or complete enough to sell.
Not bad for a "Stupid Bloody Ozzie" But don't let your stacomas get in you way, all you need are some positive affirmations and you will be all set. And don't let negative inferences about yourself get you down. Work toward your actual potential not your expected potential and everything will be all right. So let me be one of the first to give a positive affirmation.
Yep - I agree with the bland music. I originally had "working in a coal mine" but it was too distracting from my daggy voice commentary. Anyway, I like "whiter shade of pale"
Very Nice.

Beautiful... I love it *****

Thanks for the compliments.
Unfortunately it has to be wound twice each 24 hours. But its easy to do by just running the left trolley back to the top.

That's a cool clock! I like the way the whole mining theme is worked into it. (The music for the video is a little bland though.)
