@Ressurrector protect their infrastructure from solar flares. Because the composition of the trails is a conductive path so that it in essense is another layer to block solar flares. Trails are always seen in the direction of the sun mostly and it seems like during the day two and not at not....further enhancing that theory. This isn't "alien" technology, it's been research on good old terraforma, so get your head out of the sand.

Although, the original was more primitive, the application of it is abit more tricky, since complex shapes will create problems, the lab versions are mainly flat, stiff materials that are placed and tested with a 2d surface in mind.

I have looked at them with good binoculars b/f & they are all white, non-marked, large jets such as 757s & 767s & you can even see the nozzles spraying the crap out. Some of them have the spraying nozzles on the tail region, some on the wings. There are also smaller learjet planes that I have seen outfitted with these spraying nozzles. Its the Air Force, they have fleets of these unmarked white jets.
