Was very disappointed in this title, for a game that's all about changing fate, the decisions you make have very little impact on the world. It's a beautiful game, but the story is wooden, and main villains make very silly choices that ultimately lead to their defeat. if you enjoy quests where you find missing people and don't really care about a good story then this action RPG is the right game for you.

Got this game and must say it is one of my favorites, proud to own skyrim and KOA and switch between the two to get best of both worlds. just been playin lots of side quests and then play main quest and so on and so forth to earn more money, level up, and collect cool weapons and items. THe combat is sick and still haven't fought a super boss i think just mid level bossess. ALL in all a very good 1st game buy these guys and give em alot of credit. I give it 9/10 and sky rim 9.5/10 very close.

Amalur isn't a copy of skyrim, amular is way much better and they were also created in about the same time. Amalur was just in beta a bit longer.

@gallevy3313 This is technically a beta release but in the form of a full game. They released it to see if people would enjoy playing the game and it was a viable system for a MMORPG.

Graphics are amazing.... If you say they arn't then you clearly have no idea what artwork style they where going for.

And to be honest, I played this more than Skyrim, Skyrim doesn't feel that great any more. Oblivion was better and morrowind the peak.

I've played more than half of the game. It's pretty shit because the combat animations are slow. When you get hit 3 times in a row by a monster you often can't block or dodge it. It's frustrating to see you get pummeled like a sand bag while you spam dodge/block. The dodging is odd, when a mob is about to attack and roll past him, his attack animation doesn't miss, but he turns to the area where u finished your dodge and hits you anyway. It's bullshit.

I don't know if you've actually played KoA, so just in case... get the demo, try it out, be amazed at how stupid your comment is, then come back and write another one. Also I have most of the TES series. And I think Skyrim is incredibly overrated and not at all the fun I expected it to be. This, however, was exactly as I expected. Fun, inspiring, slightly cheesy and very satisfying in the end.

I honestly prefer TES game play compared to the clunky 3rd person view this game offers. I have only touched on the demo of this so far but will likely still give it a run through at least once, twice if I find it interesting... Never ending play throughs if I really like it. But... The combat animations are fucking exhilarating! It feels so satisfying when you're plunging your enemies into an inferno with your staff or slicing them to ribbons with daggers. Most games have well-crafted sword animations anyway, but the animations for staves, daggers, and bows are far better than any other game. Also...the block system makes it feel satisfying to successfully block an attack - not like in Fable III or Skyrim.
