As pleased as I am to see a relatively faithful adaptation of Hagio Moto's masterwork, I do wish it had been done by a troupe with an acting style that doesn't stray quite so close to being camp melodrama.
Of course, it is somewhat unsettling to see full-grown, completely masculine Japanese men playing pubescent German boys, but that is an unavoidable point.
Ahh, I've got to see this at some point in my life.
