I grew up in Charlotte NC, Wahoo McDaniel was a local legend.
The 1st large shopping center in Charlotte was Park Road Shopping center, on the back side of the main building there was a bar called "Whispers", it was The Spot.
There I met Wahoo McDaniel.
He was a local Wrestler but to the locals at that time he was a Rock Star.
Rick Flair and Wahoo were the Small town beginnings of what would today become a Billion Dollar entertainment industry.
It's no wonder that all those Dolphins wanted to get back for Howard Twilley- the man is a great guy-everyone loved him. During the glory yeats of the Dolphins, while others were snotty conceited &snub nosed, Twilley was a warm humble Dolphin. He came to visit at my parents store and talked to me [ I was a kid then] like an uncle and answered whatever I asked him Luv ya still How
I love the history of the Dolphins, they were and will be a great team. There are lots of sites which chart their history and compliment videos like this one. One such article is on the squidoo site and is called miami-dolphins-season-reviews-1966-1973. I think if you enjoyed this video you'd enjoy the article.
@metalmaniac2010 yep because of a weird training camp they had and the moments that they had during the expansion years. During the AFL years, the Dolphins were really trying to develop young bright stars such as Griese, Csonka, and other guys from the Don Schula squad so they can have a better squad in the future. I'm a Raider fan and I give props for yall scoring an opening kickoff touchdown against us in the Orange Bowl. lol. They didn't know it was comin, but it was hard fought game
@metalmaniac2010 I'm not meaning real weird training camp that the original Dolphins had, they had a great experience. They didn't know what field they were in their first training camp.

This team knew nothing but winning until Huizenga forcefully pushed Shula out the door. that scumbag destroyed such a great franchise.

I was so happy to see Fred Williamson get ripped on the field by the Dolphins for what he did to Twilly.

@onebaud You must be a pretty pathetic person to feel like that. I'm sure Mr. Williamson is losing tons of sleep over how you feel about him.

??? What are you so upset about? It's football! Nothin wrong with payback as long as it's not evil intent or life threatening.
