Yeah, let's teach 'em to use a crutch like this shitware.
I've written 26 original features, 2 mini-series, 4 pilots, had 7 optioned, landed an agent with ICM and secured two development deals using a very outdated installation of Word Perfect v6.0 for Windows.
Final Draft makes not a better writer nor crew head, but simply sterilizes and detaches writer and revisionist from the creative process through clunky hot-key automation.
@xlr8up Hey, Neil Simon... forget Word Perfect-- you should just use a typewriter.
And get off the internet. You're detaching yourself from your craft by viewing tutorial videos about things that don't even apply to you. I'm sure there's an Amish family that will take you in.
@xlr8up Wow. You are painfully unfunny. You should head over to a Carlos Mencia message board with that weak shit. They might actually find you remotely humorous. Sheesh.
The only software I would be caught endorsing is Dramatica Pro.
When I'm absolutely stuck for a plot line or need some thickening ingredients in my parallel action and I'm under a deadline to produce fresh dramatic content, Dramatica Pro does the trick every time especially when I'm forced to produce and my creativity goes on strike!
Works like a charm every time, keeps you in the process and forces you to think outside the box, kinda like a mind mapping program for screenwirters.
@xlr8up Thanks for sharing! Ummm in the research I was doing yesterday, I think I read where a couple of people said that Dramatica Pro is no more. In any case, since I posted yesterday, I pulled the trigger and got something called Movie Outline. It's their latest 3.1 version and from all the stuff I read about it, as well as the other softwares, it sounds like it's best suited for my needs. I'm sure a lot of these great programs would do the trick, but that's the one I got. Can't wait ... !:-)
@DocSatori It's more about quality of the writing. In this case, the quality of the information that Prombar gave out weights the fact that he forgot about some grammatical technicalities, you douche.
@DocSatori I talked in the third person because I didn't want to have to log into my old account and write that. I was productive at first but you were just being an annoying grammar nazi, & using "we" in scripts is perfectly acceptable. I've seen it used in plenty of scripts, even in screenwriting books that say not to use past tense. The reason I resorted to ad hominem attacks is because you were commenting on MY OWN spelling rather than the information I was giving and just being a douche.
@DocSatori haha Thank you. I can't tell if your mocking me or not, but thanks. Apparently you googled me D=. haha
Sorry about calling you a douche; I was just defending myself, and being an internet tough guy. Don't worry about deleting it, it's not like I didn't spell it wrong, you were right about that. Peace =P.
@C0mmanderKewl I appreciate better what you're saying and how you see my comment. Maybe it does come across a little harsh. I'll delete it if you'd like. (Although you could leave out some of the 'hate' terms.) I think your brain and heart are in the right place. It looks like you are heading in the right direction with your screenwriting. Your Julius Caesar project's a hoot.
CELTX is great, and it's free :) I find FinalDraft at times to be complicated, with CELTX it's very simple to use, or you can use word perfect which also has Drama mode built inside it, usually this software is free on your computer. Anyway don't go spending money to write screenplay(s)...
Don't spend 100$ on some software. You can just use Microsoft Word or Corel. Get a copy of screenplay on the net (there are millions, practically every movie ever made you can find) and use that as an example for format.
the program used is Final Draft, not sure how much it is now but when i got it 2 years ago i paid £150 for it, i think it's round about the same price.
I think movie magic screenwriter is better

is there an option i can toggle to get the typing sounds?
dwightshrute123 1 year ago
May I ask something?
Can I use "He" or do I have to use "Bob" all the time?
For example:
Bob enters the room, he looks around. He do not like it, his face turnes mad.
Or do I have to write:
Bob enters the room, Bon looks around.
Bob do not like it, his face turnes mad.
xxbot 2 years ago
@xxbot you can use 'he', so long as you specify who 'he' is, some time in the action description
CDFfilms 1 year ago
Bob must be very talented because, according to the scene heading and the action, he just entered the hotel from his house. Well done, Bob.

A few mistakes.
You said we're at Bobs house yet he entered the hotel.
Your dialog got cut off, for instance: "Maybe I should just go back to y"
And then Bob goes home.
I thought he was already there "?" (according to you)
Btw - I never liked 'script programs'.
I do mine raw.
