  • very gracefull, but not the best

  • Some serious sword acrobatics are in "55 Days at Peking" Part 4 from 7:35-8:45 if it,s still here on YT. Professional level.

  • Beautiful!Nagyon szép.

  • I have always enjoyed the music and beauty of this sword dance....it reminds me of the years we served as missionaries to China.....Blessings on the young lady who is preforming.....

  • :)

  • Amazing video!

  • Only one big mistake - no real Chinese video would ever show a warrior killing a dragon. This woman trained for real. Why do silly video people show her killing a dragon?

  • Hermoso video!!!

  • WoW

  • Her attack sharply rose!

  • I never tire of seeing this dance, it's so beautiful but simple in its style. When the dancer gives supplication at the end l always feel like joining her.

  • Remember I was here.Thai 4:55PM 6/26/2011

  • very good

  • Beautiful. Well done-from flashing sword to contemplative peace-with grace and form all the way through.

  • It is a sword for competition and shows. It curves itself depending on the movement so that is makes noise. The noise you do shows the strengh you use so, the more noise you do, the better you are.

The girl has an incredible tecnique!!! It's a beatiful video to watch, it seams like she is some sort of sword godness with all that light about her!!! But I don't se why she had to kill the dragon in the end! =(

  • Um hate to say it swords like that could be used in combat.

  • It is pretty. I could do part of it. It is good for me to learn. Thanks.

  • Reminds me of my 85 in Wyrmrest Temple...

  • Beautiful![iminent=HJYizlR59l2]

    美麗

  • who is moved himself then this leuchterner engel thus geschmeidigt

  • amazing!

  • ..what a CHANNEL! Oo

  • Tier 5 ascended Jadeon, Jade Dynasty ftw :D no seriously nice video, those are some skills

  • @regomn hahahaa yeahhhh wkwkw i play jade dynasty to LOL tier 5 jadeon skill

  • Someone's Attack just sharply Rose

  • @0rionProject Awesome I was about to say that!! xD

  • Is it a battle sword or a special for competitions and dances? Who knows? Oh, it is Dao-sword, isn't it?

  • @FelisKHAR00 See how the sword is whipping around? Something that fragile could never be used for combat. It's purely for show.

  • @SheenaMalfoy Don't be fooled by the floppy appearance. I've used a shorter (about three foot) version. They're designed to be flexible. I seriously don't meant to be insulting, but you should probably look up sword design. You seem to be too used to the idea of the "medieval broadsword" (often presented in movies like it were an edged steel baseball bat, which is in and of itself not how it really was). Real blades are designed to bend -- even German broadswords. If it doesn't bend, it breaks.

  • @SheenaMalfoy It whips less then a fencing sword...do you mind getting stabbed by one?

  • @FelisKHAR00 It's ceremonial, but it's good quality. I doubt it's sharpened, but sometimes they are. The floppy nature of the sword is intentional. Swords that don't bend under sudden pressure (as in combat) break, and you don't want that to happen. A *really* good sword (rapier, scimitar, and a short, light jian like this) will bend at right angles and still snap back to true, though it's usually not seen in movies today (since such swords are works of art, too expensive for props).

  • Wow this is really awesome!!

  • I love jianshu

  • I'll bet shes one hell of a sward fighter. that was amazing I wish I could get as good as she.

  • omg... it's so beautiful ! I never thought someone could get so much beauty from a death tool: like the sword...

  • Very cool.

Some of the poses remind me of the comic Id.

  • amazing

  • To make something as dreadful as swordplay look so beautiful is amazing!! I have much respect for Asian martial arts

  • Does anyone know where to buy this kind of sword for dance? It doesn't look like the balanced swords used in bellydance and it appears to be bendable- a dance sword and not a real sword.

  • @MsCoffeeGoddess it's called a jian, which is a Chinese one hand double bladed sword. Modern jians are made with thin blades so they bend like that, which looks good for competition.

  • @mattrR678 Jian means sword in Mandarin. It's the same word as the Japanese Ken, which is an approximation of the Middle Chinese pronunciation (Kyem), over time, there was a consonant shift from K to J in Mandarin and merger of M and N, so Kyem => Kyen (exported to Japanese Ken) => Jyen => modern standardized spelling = Jian. In other Chinese dialects, it still retained its Middle Chinese pronunciation, for example, Jian is Kim in Cantonese.

  • @MsCoffeeGoddess it's easier to locate it by google .. Jian "tai chi sword" ..or type tai chi sword in ebay :P

  • looks like lu xueqi lol

  • 不伦不类的打扮

  • anyone know where i can download the song?

  • 我反对中共邪党, 我永远支持法轮功. 法轮功好.

  • What the hell are you talking about, we are talking about Sword dance here!

  • oh noe, she killed the dragon D:

  • Love the sword dance and chinese dragon

  • Nicely done video with special effects. Good sword dancing and a good story line. She slays the dragon and returns the kingdom to the light.

  • It is good. It is hard to see traditional things nowadays. Chinese dragons are also classified evil and sacred. This should be evil one.

  • 这表明我的朋友们的文化以及我不是亚洲,但它是gracful和舞剑相当

  • just amazing

  • This is very graceful and beautiful to watch. Thank you for sharing it. The music is nice, too, of course.

Tai Chi is beautiful. :) I hope that I have the opportunity to learn it some day.

  • wow!!!!! I love it!!! it's so pretty, and the sword dance was amazing!! ♥.♥

  • WHO IS MUSIC

  • Man, after reading the title of this video, I thought it had to do with Scotland... I'm not sure if I've ever been so wrong before...

  • Chinese dragon is different from Western dragon. Chinese dragon reprsents honorable, but Western dragon is evil. She dances very well, but the content of film is strange.

  • She's not putting a whole lot of emotion in to it, it takes away from the dance :(

  • 考!太厉害了

  • Very flashy, not martial at all though.

  • @huntmatuk what do you know about martial art! let me tell you this, this is advance sword martial art. yin and yang.

  • Simply magnificent :')

  • Muy bueno esto.

  • Wow this really puts me at calm

  • beautiful beyond words...

  • She has performed great moves with grace.

  • Ok I'm not a fan of the ending. If you're going to spin the camera around, at least make it so the background spins faster than the foreground. If the foreground spins faster it doesn't make any sense. Also the dragon's kinda corny. Fan dance is good enough that you don't need a toy dragon flying around the scene and getting blown up.

  • what kind of sword is this? i do sword belly dance and i would love to incoporate something like this but i know my sword is too heavy for this.

  • the sword is a jian, a chinese straight sword. It is used in martial arts to, such as wushu. the martial arts versions have very thin but flexible blades.

  • anyone know the name/composer of the music?

  • hanfu dress? lovely

  • I stumbled upon this quite by chance and I must say, this is very nice, indeed.

  • This is so beautiful, smooth and elegant!

  • BEAUTIFULL

  • very enchanting and swift.

  • awesome, I love wudan

    =D

ps anybody knows what is the music?

  • Mountains and Rivers by Ms. Chiu Chi-Ling

    You can download at

    zhengjian (dot) org/celestialmelody/articles/7/19640

  • She's got some awesome skills.

It's kind of funny, here I was looking for different 'sword dances' expecting that the videos would be mostly of guys. Except all the videos I've seen so far are women doing the dances.

It's nice to see girls that can kick butt, and honestly, a woman who can use a sword is alot more threatening to me than a guy. Their slighter bodies being more flexible, so one wrong move and *shrrfff" there goes the "family jewels."

  • The music is also great. can anyone tell me the title of the music?

    thanks.

  • Mountains and Rivers by Ms. Chiu Chi-Ling

  • you dont do nothing but sleep with it.

  • that's a beautiful dance. I practiced the Five Family Fist,Emperor Long fist and Royal Bodyguard style and created a sword dance useing sword skill flower wish is blocks,7 Slashes and the Five elements wood, fire, earth, metal and water Iv called it Swift wind.

  • any video of it?

  • Great i would like to have a teacher like she to teach me that.

    Very nice post.

    taniec

  • true ; the evil Dragon of cummunism must be beaten

  • there's nothing like the grace of a sword dance :)

  • Sehr sehr schön! und wahr.

  • very awesome but its not a dance.

  • She's got the skillz! Nice!

  • Awesome dance but, how in the world did she get down?:o

  • righteous

  • Wow, that dragon looks just like the real thing!!

  • it's happening right now...

  • May I have the song for this?

  • wow! that was a beautiful dance! i was sorried she was gunna cut her dress :S lol

  • Very well done.

  • i think what this video shows is that martial art's true purpose is to show the practitionner a way inside. A path to light.

  • whoa trippy

    its wushu i think

    chinese sword

  • Wushu with a Jian. Jian is a double-edged sword, incredibly thin and incredibly sharp. I had one go through my shoulder once... that was a long ride to the hospital.

  • omg!!!awesomness

  • This could easily have been a scene from the Chinese fantasy epic SHUSHAN JIANXIA. :)

When will the epic be made into a film, with scenes like this? :(

  • PROFESSIONAL!!!

  • Wushu or Tai Chi (chinese broadsword)

  • Very Cool, i wish I could do that!

  • wow breathtaking!!!!

  • this video amaze me! So,so good! Thks!

  • Somebody teach me that!

  • Tai chi was used n its a double edge sword

  • this sword is a modern wushu sword

  • Very nice Video!

  • It does look more like Wushu than any Kung Fu I've ever seen... But I figure this one was specially made for this movie and has little "real" stuff of either in it...

  • Cheezy-est animation ever.

  • beautyfull symbolism. The red dragon carrying the hammer and sicle representing the corrupt chinese comunisme destroyed by one of the oldest and most beautyfull chinese art forms.

  • The dragon could also represent feudalism which was the cause of must injustice in China.

  • So Beautiful and Majistic!

I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT! I LOVE IT!

  • SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • double edge blade

  • wow, beautiful dress...great performance..played so well...wish to learn....

  • I have tried to find songs like this o.O seems impossible

  • Beautiful

    5/5

  • WONDERFUL!

  • Lokimork Was that a one or two edged blade? what martial art was used?

------i'm not fully certain...but i seen the same one before: that blade called "E-Mei single sword".or " long sword of fair lady"

in south west of china ,a well-knowned mountain call "E Mei mountain" ,female believers of Taoism trained themself there by "E Mei kung fu"

  • so nice girl

  • will someone please tell me the costume she was wearing is called? I would appreciate it!

  • whoa. that was coool

  • Looks like tai chi to me, and the sword is jian as Myderion said.

  • wow! very well made and great skills.

5 stars and deep respect **bows**

  • EXCELLENT

  • Interesting, what martial art was used? Was that a one or two edged blade? Anybody cares to answer, please?

  • In my opinon it is a form of Wushu. Just stationary. Yet, I do know for certain that the blade she is using is called the Jian. It is a chinese straightsword, double edged. The one she uses in this viedo is a form of practice weapon. It is lighter and is actually floppy... yea...

  • This is not Wushu, just a kind of China traditional dance. There are some kinds of Wushu form or pose in it, but it can not be used to fight, that is much different to Wushu.

  • "Jian" basically means "sword" in Chinese, and refers to pretty much all straight double-edged sword. (Same way "dao" is virtually anything with a single edge made for cutting.)

Can also occasionally be called a "gim." I don't think there's a difference between a jian and a gim, though.

  • It is a tai chi. Which is similar to a straight sword. But floppy-er and thinner.

  • very wise of you to recognize suck a common sword you have the true eye of a sword master BS im messin with yeah but seriously thats cool u maniged to pick that stuff out i got that after watching this 2 times lol

  • naa they were all "floppy" cause the old fighters cut the ..tendon?^^.. with a shake movement

  • kung fu and its a two edged blade

  • "Kung fu" is not a martial art in itself. It would be like saying that all judo and like are "kinda wrestling."

    Your humble servant.

  • not kung fu its a form of tai chi

    ive already seen it

the weapon is a Jian for sure no doubt

  • Chinese Wushu. Kung fu is a generic term that can mean "good feeling" or "good skill". Wushu is the fighting art. I agree that it is a Jian, a two edged chinese sword. Chinese swords where meant to be somewhat floppy (high iron content) in order to accentuate grace and precision thrusting techniques. I'm a historian and swordsman. Trust me.

  • Eh, it's not any martial art at all from what I can tell. She's just spinning her sword around a lot, takes some dance steps and throws in some wushu-style poses for good measure.

I mean, I do stuff like that for fun, and I don't even know any wushu.

  • That was tai'chi quan and the sword is a double edged blade.

  • skilllllllllllllllzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Loved it!

  • Very nice video :)

  • yes, her skill with the sword and agile movements are remarkable.

  • OMG thats amazing:)

  • thats sooooo cool(I am obsessed with swords)

  • she is graceful and the sword strikes fast adn swift it was beautiful

  • all i can say is WOW! excellent dancing, video editing etc. inspiring.

  • No dragons were harmed in the making of this video... lol. Thanks for the title of the song, will trot over and nick it now :)

  • sorry the name is "shan_he.mp3" The english title of the song is "Mountains and Rivers" I will try to find it on there and send you a message with the link.

  • Is there anything more beautiful than a graceful woman doing martial arts? I love the music too, is there anywhere I can get the mp3?

  • this song was composed by a Falun Dafa practitioner and posted on the website pureinsight dot org in the music section

  • hahaha was cool till i saw the dragon

  • that is called a darn kim sword its a very thin flexible blade

  • Very nice sword video.

  • Ask any chinese, they'll tell you this is so 1960's. Sword is real it's just a very thin blade so it's light.

  • windycloud23 posted:

"Ask any chinese, they'll tell you this is so 1960's."

I'd far rather they stick to the good old 1960's aesthetics. I've come across a lot of the stuff they produce nowadays, whether films, comics or video games, and all I could say was: YUCK.

There are certain things which don't grow old with time. And with things like the arts it makes no sense to 'keep up with the times'. So what if it's 'old-fashioned'? It's still so much 'cooler' than all the stuff I see today.

  • Why not use real sword?

  • That is a practice sword for the purposes on Wushu that is why it has such a flex to it.

  • Absolutely no romantic reason for using this special blade.

The reason why it is bendy is,

the sword is moved in a way so the tip of the sword keeps on swinging inside the

body of the opponent to cause lethal injuries.

She shows some of these lethal swingings in her video.

  • WOW - absolutely amazing!!

  • wow.. very well done...

  • Wow, I like her moves.

  • lol...i wonder how she made the animation...

  • I think it was made by the NTDTV. I don't think the swordswoman made the actual animation.
