very eerie, esp: the begining part, that passing doppler drone effect is something I heard from an orange fireball hovering outside one night in 1978 in Cumbria. No drugs. No drink. Was only 13.
Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains electronic upbeat and ambient songs heavily inspired by The Future Sound of London. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
Most people were unaware of the fractal videos on sale in the 90s because it wasnt well advertised. I watched this along with a few other fractal videos in the early 90s and to me this makes great tv ! this puts hollywood and its violence lust to shame. All types can watch this young to old without any effects on the viewer
I don't care if this was the first implementation of graphics like these--this is incredibly groundbreaking and I'm really disappointed that more people haven't seen it.
NIce comment... from someone who has firsthand experience in 3D graphics, I can imagine that this stuff would've been extremely difficult to pull off back then
QUE BUENA sicodelia imagen digital. Conocí a FSOL en el 2000 con lifeforms y dead cities. MASTERS !!! Freq dedica una canción en su primer disco llamada lifeforms.
wow, anytime i listen to this i feel sooo relaxed and comfortable.. i have the whole album on my ipod for the morning after the night before. and it works like a treat!
Phenomenal stuff. I bought Lifeforms back in '94 when I was 15 and it's still my favourite album of all time. The greatest electronic album ever written!
1st time I heard this I was driving my gmc typhoon about 100mph across the bay bridge leaving SanFrancisco, no traffic at 1:45am. It felt like I was driving through a sky scraper that was falling into the water very slowly. The long lights recessed into the lower deck of the bay bridge looked like lasers and I felt like I was high on Acid. Oh wait I was high on Acid! This track is just amazing.
@biofunk sounds about right to me... that must have been incredible... mind expanding music you dont even really need chems to get a buzz of this E.P.
earlyish FSOL is utter class. The early 3d computer graphics is fantastic mixed in with 80s-90s video effects processors! I wish they'd redux lifeforms with modern 3d cg and make it just as far out.
I got the VHS tape of it years ago, cant play it any more! :-(

@maharajaRS The first part of this track "Vertical Pig" from the album Lifeforms, the second part I don't know.
Also the first part of this video consists of different tracks from the LP like "Dead skin cells". Different from the EP yes.
